INSTRUMENTED-MANUAL PHYSIOTHERAPY VERSUS NONINSTRUMENTED
Neck PainThis study aimed to verify the mechanical and clinical effects of instrumented massage on myofascial trigger points of trapezius muscle in adult subjects.
Dry Needling and Pain Education in the Treatment of Chronic Neck Pain
PainNeckto compare the effects on pain, disability and psychological factors of the combination of MTrP dry needling and pain neuroscience education to MTrPs dry needing alone and control electrotherapy usual care in patients with chronic neck pain.
Manual Therapy Techniques on Cervical Spine and Psychological Interaction
Neck PainManual therapy (MT) techniques applied over cervical region have over both local (neck) and distant regions (elbow) in both asymptomatic and symptomatic populations. Neurophysiological mechanisms are hypothesized to explain the underlying effects, with effects originating from peripheral mechanisms, spinal cord and supraspinal mechanisms. There is also an increasing interest in the study of the role of psychological variables in the treatment success in neck pain. Psychological variables, like anxiety catastrophizing or kinesiophobia are related to poor prognosis in the development of pain outcomes and disability in neck pain, being the Fear-Avoidance Model of pain one of the most tested models in this field.
The Effect of Vibration Therapy Over Neck Myofascial Trigger Points
Myofascial Trigger Point PainNeck PainThe aim of this study was to investigate the efficacy of a self-administered vibration therapy treatment on neck pain, disability and pressure pain thresholds in patients with non-specific neck pain and myofascial trigger points (MTrPs). The investigators hypothesized that patients receiving vibration therapy would report less perceived neck pain, disability and present higher PPTs after receiving vibration therapy when compared to a control no-treatment group.
Clinical Trial of the Senza™ SCS System in the Treatment of Chronic Upper Limb and Neck Pain
Neck PainChronic PainThis is a prospective, multi-center feasibility study of effectiveness and safety of the Senza System in subjects with chronic, intractable pain of the upper limbs and/or neck. Data at follow-up visits will be compared to Baseline data collected at the beginning of the study.
Effect of an Outpatient Intervention Program in Patients With Chronic Back or Neck Pain
Chronic Low Back PainNeck PainTo investigated whether an ambulant intervention program with a behavioral therapy approach would exert a long-term effect on chronic unspecific back or neck pain. Specifically, the effect on patients with pronounced fear avoidance behavior and/or with psychosocial limitations was addressed.
The Effects of Two Different Home-exercise Programmes on Women Suffering Long Term Neck/Shoulder...
Neck PainThe purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of specific neck/shoulder muscle exercises on pain, function, biochemistry and psychological factors in women suffering chronic neck/shoulder pain.
Occurrence, Diagnosis and Treatment of Neck and Back Pain in Helicopter Pilots.
Low Back PainNeck Pain1 moreThe purpose of this project is to investigate the occurrence of neck and back pain in a population of commercial helicopter pilots, and investigate factors related to the profession that can cause these problems. The project has a biological approach assessing the supporting and stabilizing muscles (multifidus) in pilots with chronic back and neck ailments. Pilots with low back problems are invited to a controlled intervention trial to investigate whether one can achieve improved spinal health with a rigid training régime. Primary trial outcome is improved neck and back multifidus muscles pathology and function as assessed by the extent of fat infiltration -as visualized on MRI - and the volume and ability of the lumbar multifidus muscles to contract as shown with ultrasound. The perceived effect on spinal health with sick leave frequency is also evaluated.
An Efficacy and Safety Study of Tramadol Hydrochloride-Paracetamol in Treatment of Moderate to Severe...
Low Back PainShoulder Pain1 moreThe purpose of this study is to evaluate the efficacy and safety of tramadol hydrochloride-paracetamol tablets in treatment of moderate (medium level of seriousness) to severe (very serious) acute neck, shoulder and low back pain in orthopedics (pertaining to the bones) outpatient or emergency setting.
The Effect of Integrated Neuromuscular Inhibition Technique in Combination With Therapeutic Exercise...
Neck PainThe purpose of this study is to examine the combine effect of the integrated neuromuscular inhibition technique (soft tissue mobilization techniques protocol), in combination with the therapeutic exercise in patients with chronic mechanical neck pain in the sub-acute stage of symptoms, and to determine whether this combination substantially helps the faster and more efficient installation of adaptations of exercising.
