Efficacy and Safety of Omega-3 Lipid Therapy in Pediatric Patients With Parenteral Nutrition-Associated...
Short Bowel SyndromeCholestasisThis pilot study seeks to demonstrate the efficacy of an intravenous lipid preparation high in omega-3 fatty acids (Omegaven) in the treatment of cholestasis in parenteral nutrition dependent patients with short gut syndrome.
Self-expandable Metal Stents Versus Multiple Plastic Stents for Palliation of Biliary Obstruction...
Bile Duct ObstructionExtrahepatic3 moreA randomised clinical trial to compare the clinical efficacy of multiple plastic stents to fully covered self expanding metal stents in the palliation of distal malignant biliary obstruction in patients with irresectable tumours.
Gastrostomy-Biliary Diversion: Innovative Management for Bile Canalicular Transport Disorders
Progressive Familial Intrahepatic CholestasisProgressive familial intrahepatic cholestasis (PFIC) is a group of disorders that can present early in life with cholestasis and intractable pruritus. Their treatment poses a great challenge, with medical treatment is not successful in many cases. Moreover, the available non-transplant surgeries carry many side effects and different degrees of efficacy. Partial external biliary diversion, internal biliary diversion, and ileal exclusion still lack widespread experience with many side effects. Nasobiliary stent placement has little tolerability, especially in younger age. Gastrobiliary tube is a novel modality for external biliary diversion in such patients.
Remission Induction of Primary Biliary Cholangitis-autoimmune Hepatitis Overlap Syndrome
HepatitisAutoimmune4 moreBiochemical response of primary biliary cholangitis-autoimmune hepatitis overlap syndrome induced by ursodeoxycholic acid only or combination therapy of immunosuppressive agents

Malignant Biliary StricturesUtility of CholangioFlex and Fluorescent in situ Hybridization in the Diagnosis of Malignant Biliary Strictures Objectives To assess the sensitivity, specificity and accuracy of CholangioFlex in malignant biliary stricture diagnosis To assess the sensitivity, specificity and accuracy of Fluorescent in situ Hybridization(FISH) in malignant biliary stricture diagnosis Study design One academic center, prospective, diagnostic study Research Methodology Target population: Patients who are diagnosed malignant biliary stricture. Sample population: Patients who are diagnosed malignant biliary stricture in Chulalongkorn Hospital
Omegaven® as Parenteral Nutrition
CholestasisThe purpose of this study is to determine if a fat emulsion comprised of omega-3 fatty acids, Omegaven, would be beneficial in the management of steatotic liver injury in parenteral nutrition (PN) by its inhibition of de novo lipogenesis, the reduction of arachidonic acid-derived inflammatory mediators, prevention of essential fatty acid deficiency through the presence of small amounts of arachidonic acid, and improved clearance of lipids from the serum.
Phase II Pilot Study to Compare the Bioavailability of Buffered, Enteric-Coated Ursodiol With Unmodified...
Cystic FibrosisGastrointestinal Diseases1 moreOBJECTIVES: I. Compare the bioavailability of polymer-coated and buffered ursodiol (ursodeoxycholic acid) to unmodified ursodiol in patients with cystic fibrosis-associated liver disease or chronic cholestatic liver disease. II. Compare the differences in pruritus, weight gain, and liver function for both treatments.
Low Dose Parenteral Fat for Prevention of Parenteral Nutrition Associated Cholestasis in Preterm...
Parenteral Nutrition-Associated Liver DiseaseThe goal of the study is to determine if parenteral nutrition-associated cholestasis (PNAC) is related to the amount of parenteral (intravenous) fat administered to premature babies until full enteral nutrition is achieved.
Radiological Investigation of Bile Duct Obstruction
Gallstone DiseasePatients with gallstone disease should be checked whether a common bile duct (CBD) stone could be present. In case of a certain suspicion for CBD stones further investigations should be performed. This can either be done by magnetic resonance cholangio-pancreaticography (MRCP) or by intraoperative cholangiography. The study investigates which pathway would be favorable in regard of an early hospital demission.
Prospective Randomized Clinical Trial of Intravenous Lipids and Cholestasis
Parenteral Nutrition Associated CholestasisThe Investigators hypothesize that increased cumulative amount of lipid intake causes PNAC in late preterm and term neonates with major GI surgical disorders
