Pazopanib Hydrochloride in Treating Patients With Metastatic Kidney Cancer

This phase II trial studies how well pazopanib hydrochloride works in treating patients with kidney cancer that has spread to other places in the body (metastatic). Pazopanib hydrochloride may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth. Pazopanib hydrochloride may also stop the growth of kidney cancer by blocking blood flow to the tumor.

This phase I trial studies the side effects and best dose of ziv-aflibercept when given together with pembrolizumab in treating patients with solid tumors that that may have spread from where it first started to nearby tissue, lymph nodes, or distant parts of the body (advanced). Ziv-afibercept works by decreasing blood and nutrient supply to the tumor, which may result in shrinking the tumor. Immunotherapy with monoclonal antibodies, such as pembrolizumab, may help the body's immune system attack the cancer, and may interfere with the ability of tumor cells to grow and spread. Giving ziv-aflibercept together with pembrolizumab may be a better treatment for patients with advanced solid tumors.

This phase I trial studies the side effects and best doses of cabozantinib s-malate and nivolumab with or without ipilimumab in treating patients with genitourinary (genital and urinary organ) tumors that have spread from where it first started (primary site) to other places in the body (metastatic). Cabozantinib s-malate may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth. Immunotherapy with monoclonal antibodies, such as nivolumab and ipilimumab, may help the body's immune system attack the cancer, and may interfere with the ability of tumor cells to grow and spread. It is not yet known whether giving cabozantinib s-malate and nivolumab alone or with ipilimumab works better in treating patients with genitourinary tumors.

This research study is a pilot clinical trial, which hypothesizes that the combination of electromagnetic tracking in conjunction with laparoscope imaging and ultrasound probe imaging will aid in reducing the complexity of both laparoscopic lymphadenectomy and/or organ removal in patients with a confirmed diagnosis of cancer in urologic regions of interest (Bladder, Prostate, Testicular, Kidney, Urethral, and Penis), by resulting in better visualization and more accurate localization of certain areas in the diseased organ or the diseased lymph node, and allowing for improved surgical and patient outcomes, fewer complications and better clinician performance.

Correlation of Renal Mass Pathologic Grade and Contrast Enhanced Ultrasound (CEUS)

Renal Malignant Tumor

Patients with renal lesions suspicious for renal cell carcinoma (RCC) have a variety of different treatment pathways available to them. Imaging surveillance is being used frequently on smaller renal masses, and radiologists are being asked to biopsy more renal lesions to better guide decision making by urology. This is in large part due to the pathologic grade of renal masses having been shown to correlate with patient outcomes. The World Health Organization (WHO) or Fuhrman grade is the standard grading scale used by pathologists for RCC. The goal of this study will be to correlate contrast enhanced ultrasound findings with the pathologic grade of RCC. Specifically, the investigators hypothesize that tumors with different pathologic grades will show different patterns of qualitative enhancement, as well as different perfusion kinetics.

This is a prospective, single-center, single-arm, comparative phase 2 study in patients with metastatic clear cell renal cell carcinoma. The goal is to determine the sensitivity of 68Ga-NY104 PET/CT in patients with metastatic clear cell renal cell carcinoma and compare it with 18F-FDG PET/CT.

Clear Cell Renal Cell Carcinoma

This is a prospective, single-center, single-arm, diagnostic phase 2 study in patients who have renal masses scheduled for surgical resection. The goal is to determine the sensitivity and specificity of 68Ga-NY104 PET/CT in the detection of clear cell renal cell carcinoma using histopathological diagnosis as ground truth, in patients with operable renal masses.

Renal Cell Carcinoma

All patients will receive IL-2 (14 planned doses with an additional cycle 14 days after the first). Responding patients with regressing disease are eligible for up to 6 IL-2 cycles. Patients assigned to SBRT arm will receive two doses of SBRT on the Wednesday and Friday before the Monday on which IL-2 starts.
