A Study To Test The Effect Of GW786034 (Pazopanib) On P450 Enzymes

CarcinomaRenal Cell

This is a Phase I study to determine the effect of GW786034 (pazopanib) on P450 enzymes. This study will help determine which types of drugs may interact with GW786034.

Dosing and Effectiveness Study of Sorafenib and RAD001 in the Treatment of Patients With Advanced...

Kidney Cancer

This study is being done in 2 parts. The first part is to determine the dose of RAD001 that should be used in combination with sorafenib. The second part is using the above determined dose of RAD001 in combination with sorafenib to see how effective these 2 drugs are against advanced kidney cancer. Participants will be asked to keep a pill diary.

SU011248 Versus Interferon-Alfa As First-Line Systemic Therapy For Patients With Metastatic Renal...

CarcinomaRenal Cell

The purpose of this study is to test whether SU011248 has activity and is safe compared to interferon-alfa as first-line therapy in patients with metastatic renal cell carcinoma (RCC).

3-AP in Treating Patients With Previously Untreated Locally Recurrent or Metastatic Renal Cell Carcinoma...

Kidney Cancer

RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as 3-AP, work in different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. PURPOSE: Phase II trial to study the effectiveness of 3-AP in treating patients who have locally recurrent or metastatic renal cell (kidney) carcinoma (cancer).

Denileukin Diftitox in Treating Patients With Metastatic Melanoma or Metastatic Kidney Cancer

Kidney CancerMelanoma (Skin)

RATIONALE: Denileukin diftitox may be able to make the body build an immune response to kill tumor cells. PURPOSE: This phase II trial is studying how well denileukin diftitox works in treating patients with metastatic melanoma or metastatic kidney cancer.

Evaluation of Bay 59-8862 in Patients With Advanced Renal Cell Carcinoma

CarcinomaRenal Cell

In patients with renal cell cancer, most frequent methods of treatment include surgery, chemotherapy, hormonal therapy, and immunotherapy. Renal cell carcinoma is usually considered to be radioresistant and chemoresistant. In patients with metastatic disease, the options are limited. The taxanes are among the most commonly used class of chemotherapy agents in clinical oncology today but they are not effective in renal cancers; the development of Bay 59-8862 targets taxane-resistant tumors and the current protocol is designed to test the safety and efficacy of Bay 59-8862 in patients with advanced renal cell carcinoma.

Intravenous Interleukin-4 PE38KDEL Cytotoxin in Treating Patients With Recurrent or Metastatic Kidney...

Breast CancerKidney Cancer1 more

RATIONALE: Interleukin-4 PE38KDEL cytotoxin may be able to deliver cancer-killing substances directly to solid tumor cells. PURPOSE: Phase I trial to study the effectiveness of intravenous interleukin-4 PE38KDEL cytotoxin in treating patients who have recurrent or metastatic kidney cancer, non-small cell lung cancer, or breast cancer that has not responded to previous treatment.

Erlotinib in Treating Patients With Advanced Kidney Cancer

Kidney Cancer

RATIONALE: Erlotinib may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking the enzymes necessary for tumor cell growth. PURPOSE: Phase II trial to study the effectiveness of erlotinib in treating patients who have advanced kidney cancer.

Temsirolimus and Bryostatin 1 in Treating Patients With Unresectable or Metastatic Solid Tumors...

Recurrent MelanomaRecurrent Renal Cell Cancer4 more

This phase I trial is studying the side effects and best dose of temsirolimus when given together with bryostatin 1 in treating patients with unresectable or metastatic solid tumors. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as temsirolimus and bryostatin 1, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells or by stopping them from dividing. Giving more than one drug (combination chemotherapy) may kill more tumor cells.

Interferon Alfa With or Without Interleukin-2 and Fluorouracil in Treating Patients With Advanced...

Kidney Cancer

RATIONALE: Interferon alfa may interfere with the growth of tumor cells. Interleukin-2 may stimulate a person's white blood cells to kill tumor cells. Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Combining interferon alfa with interleukin-2 and fluorouracil may kill more tumor cells. It is not yet known whether interferon alfa is more effective with or without interleukin-2 and fluorouracil in treating metastatic kidney cancer. PURPOSE: Randomized phase III trial to compare the effectiveness of interferon alfa combined with interleukin-2 and fluorouracil to that of interferon alfa alone in treating patients who have advanced metastatic kidney cancer.
