Vertical Transmission of Hepatitis C in Adult Children of Female Baby Boomers
Hepatitis CHepatitis C1 moreThe investigators aim to determine the prevalence of hepatitis C in the adult children of female baby boomers. During the years baby boomers were becoming pregnant, hepatitis C testing was either not available or was not standard of care. Because of this, participants' children may be unaware of participants' risk of hepatitis C.
Long Term Follow-up of Hepatitis C Cured Patients
Chronic Hepatitis CChronic Liver Disease1 moreObjectives: The general objective of the present project is to gain a better understanding of disease outcome in cACLD patients treated with the new oral DAA. In particular, the project will focus on: - To evaluate the long term prognosis of patients with compensated advanced chronic liver disease (cACLD) who achieve sustained virological response (SVR) after the new oral direct-acting antiviral agents (DAA), and determine clinical and elastographic basal and follow-up parameters to identify low and high risk groups of developing liver-related decompensation. Methods: Prospective cohort study in patients with cACLD in whom basal and annual clinical features and liver stiffness measurements (LSM) will be performed, and survival free of liver-related events will be analyzed.
Study of HCV Genotype 1 Patients in the UK Treated With ViraferonPeg and Rebetol (Study P05269)(COMPLETED)...
Hepatitis CChronicThe study is designed as a retrospective data review of medical records from participants selected from specialist secondary and tertiary care centers across the United Kingdom (UK), specializing in Hepatitis C treatment. The study is non-interventional and is designed to identify subgroups of Hepatitis C Virus (HCV) genotype 1 participants in the 'real world', including the relation between subgroup characteristics and treatment responsiveness.
PROPHESYS 2: An Observational Study on Predictors of Response in Treatment-naïve Patients With Chronic...
Hepatitis CChronicThis observational study will assess predictors of early on-treatment and sustained virological response in treatment-naïve patients with chronic hepatitis C initiated on treatment with Pegasys (peginterferon alfa-2a) or peginterferon alfa-2b and ribavirin. Data will be collected during the treatment period (24 or 48 weeks) and 12 and 24 weeks after the end of treatment. Target sample size is <2000.
Chronic Hepatitis C and Insulin Resistance
Hepatitis CInsulin ResistanceChronic hepatitis C (CHC) is among the commonest chronic infectious disease in Australia with >200,000 exposed persons. Amongst non-infectious chronic conditions- Type 2 diabetes, obesity and heart disease are extremely common. This study will examine the relationship between insulin resistance, fat deposition in the liver, muscle and abdomen, and liver injury due to CHC
Impact of the Sustained Viral Response of Chronic Hepatitis c After Treatment With Direct Action...
Hepatitis CChronicThe purpose of this study is to evaluate the evolution of liver injury with fibrosis data obtained using non-invasive serological markers in patients who achieved SVR after treatment with direct-acting antivirals.
A Quality of Life Study of Peginterferon-Alfa-2a Plus Ribavirin in Participants With Chronic Hepatitis...
Hepatitis CChronicParticipants with Chronic Hepatitis C (CHC) and normal ALT, who have been under treatment with peginterferon alfa-2a and ribavirin for at least 4 weeks, will be enrolled into this non-interventional, open-label study. The primary aim is to evaluate quality of life according to the 36-Item Short-Form Health Survey (SF-36) questionnaire, modified for the Greek population.
A Study of Predictors of the Effectiveness of Pegylated Interferon in a Cohort of Participants With...
Hepatitis CChronicThis prospective observational study will investigate predictive values of virological response in pegylated interferon alfa-2a (Pegasys)/ribavirin (Copegus) treatment-naive participants with chronic hepatitis C. Participants will be treated with pegylated interferon alfa-2a and ribavirin as prescribed by the physician. Data will be collected for a maximum of 96 weeks.
An Observational Study on Predictive Factors of Response in Patients With Chronic Hepatitis C Treated...
Hepatitis CChronicThis observational study will evaluate predictors of early on-treatment response and sustained virological response in patients with chronic hepatitis C receiving Pegasys (peginterferon alfa-2a) and ribavirin. Data will be collected from patients on treatment (24 or 48 weeks) and 24 weeks after the end of treatment.
Predictive Factors of the Treatment Failure in Hepatitis C Virus (HCV) Infected Patients Treated...
Chronic Hepatitis CThe purpose of the study is to 1- detect and quantify HCV-PI resistant mutants with ultra-deep pyrosequencing (UDPS) technology, 2 - detect SNPs in P-glyocoprotein and CYP3A genes, in HCV mono-infected patients under/after Telaprevir treatment.
