Antiviral Effect, Safety, and Pharmacokinetics of BI201335 +PegIFN/RBV in HCV-GT1 (SILEN-C1&2)
Hepatitis CChronicThe objective was to investigate the antiviral effect, safety, and pharmacokinetics of BI 201335 (Faldaprevir), given as a soft gelatine capsule, in patients with hepatitis C virus (HCV) genotype 1 infection. Combination therapy of BI 201335 (Faldaprevir) with pegylated interferon α-2a (PegIFN) and ribavirin (RBV), with or without a 3-day lead-in, was assessed in treatment-naïve (TN) and treatment experienced (TE) patients.
Efficacy of Paroxetine in the Prevention of Depressive Syndrome in Patients With Chronic Hepatitis...
Chronic Hepatitis CDepression is a common side effect of interferon in the treatment of chronic hepatitis C. The aim of this study is to assess the efficacy and safety of paroxetine, an antidepressant agent, in the prevention of depression induced by PEG-interferon given for the treatment of chronic hepatitis C.
Study of the Effects of Motivational Enhancement Therapy on Alcohol Use in Chronic Hepatitis C Patients...
Alcohol DependenceChronic Hepatitis CThe purpose of this study is to determine whether motivational enhancement therapy (MET) reduces alcohol use in a population of HCV-infected veterans who are currently drinking alcohol and have alcohol disorders. We hypothesize that veterans with HCV, an alcohol use disorder and continued excessive alcohol use who receive MET will have a greater reduction in the number of standard alcohol drinks per week and a greater percentage of days abstinent than veterans who receive health education control intervention.
Evaluation of Irbesartan on Hepatic Fibrosis in Chronic Hepatitis C
Hepatitis CChronicThe purpose of this study is to examine the efficacy of irbesartan on the progression of liver fibrosis in adult patients with chronic hepatitis C. The expected total enrollment is 200 patients. Patients who meet the study criteria and accept to participate at this study will take by day one tablet of 150 mg of treatment (irbesartan or placebo) during two years. The assessment of efficacy will be make by evaluation of area of liver fibrosis and blood markers of liver fibrosis
The Effects of Adding TCM-700C on the Standard Combination Treatment for Patients With Genotype...
Chronic Hepatitis CThe primary objective of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of TCM-700C as an add-on treatment to the combination drug therapy (Peginterferon α-2b plus Ribavirin) for patients with genotype 1 chronic hepatitis C infections. This will be demonstrated by a higher sustained virologic response rate, defined as the absence of detectable HCV RNA 24 weeks after the termination of combinational drug treatment, compared with the placebo add-on.
Eltrombopag To Initiate And Maintain Interferon Antiviral Treatment To Benefit Subjects With Hepatitis...
Hepatitis CChronicThe purpose of this study is to assess the ability of eltrombopag to maintain a platelet count sufficient to facilitate initiation of antiviral therapy, to minimise antiviral therapy dose reductions and to avoid permanent discontinuation of antiviral therapy. The clinical benefit of eltrombopag will be measured by the proportion of subjects who are able to achieve a Sustained Virological Response (SVR).
A Study of TMC435350 Administered With or Without Standard of Care Therapy in Participants With...
Hepatitis CChronicThe purpose of this study is to investigate how efficient TMC435350 will work against the Hepatitis C virus genotype 1 (genotypes refer to the genetic constitution of the virus) and what the concentrations of TMC435350 in the blood are with or without pegylated interferon alpha-2a (PegIFNa-2a) or PegIFNa-2a plus ribavirin.
A Study of PEGASYS (Peginterferon Alfa-2a (40KD)) in Combination With Ribavirin in Patients With...
Hepatitis CChronicThis study will evaluate the efficacy, safety and tolerability of PEGASYS plus ribavirin in patients with CHC who could not tolerate or were not responsive to 12 weeks of therapy with PEG-Intron plus ribavirin. The anticipated time on study treatment is 1-2 years, and the target sample size is >100 individuals.
Treatment Insulin Resistence in HCV G-1 Patient
Chronic Hepatitis CTo evaluate the effect of treatment of insulin resistance in the response of chronic hepatitis C treatment, mesure as HCV-RNA negative at week 72. 4.3.2 Objetivos secundarios To evaluate the efficacy and safety of treatment with metformine to erradicate the insulin resistance of patients with chornic hepatitis C genotype 1 measure as HOMA-IR < 2.
IdB 1016 Treatment for Hepatitis C Disease
Hepatitis CChronicThis study will measure the safety and tolerability of three different doses of IdB 1016 in patients with hepatitis C disease who have not responded to or are poor candidates for interferon-based therapies. NOTE: THE STUDY WILL ONLY RECRUIT STUDY PARTICIPANTS AT UNIVERSITY OF WASHINGTON MEDICAL CENTER IN SEATTLE
