Liposomal Bupivacaine at Cesarean Delivery to Decrease Post-operative Pain

PainPostoperative

This is a randomized controlled trial to test whether the use of liposomal bupivacaine at the time of cesarean delivery may decrease post-operative pain scores.

Incidence of Post-operative Pain After Single-visit Versus Two-visit Treatment

Post-operative Pain

Aim :to compare incidence of post-operative pain and apical healing after single-visit versus two-visit root canal treatment of teeth with necrotic pulp and apical periodontitis.

Analgesia iv vs Epidural Analgesia vs Port-sites Infiltration After Laparoscopic Sleeve Gastrectomy...

Postoperative Pain

A prospective randomized study of patients undergoing laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy between 2012 and 2015 will be performed. Patients will be divided into 3 groups: Analgesia iv exclusively (Group 1), epidural analgesia+analgesia iv (Group 2) and port-sites infiltration+analgesia iv (Group 3). Pain will be quantified by means of a Visual Analogic Scale and morphine rescue needs were determined 24 hours after surgery.

Postoperative Pain Therapy With Hydromorphone TCI-PCA vs. Morphine PCA

Acute Postoperative Pain

Treatment of postoperative pain with hydromorphone (a strong analgesic) using patient-controlled analgesia with target-controlled infusion compared to conventional patient-controlled analgesia with morphine after elective cardiac surgery

Postoperative Pain in Children With Cerebral Palsy After Pelvic and Femoral Osteotomies

Postoperative PainCerebral Palsy

This study is a comparison of postoperative pain in children with cerebral palsy after surgery on the hip or femur. One group is treated with p.o. (by mouth) or intravenous (i.v.) analgesia, and the other group is treated with local infiltration analgesia with Naropine. Pain is measured with r-FLACC, a pain-score validated for children with cerebral palsy.

Study of Unsutured Versus Sutured Closure of Rectal Defects After Rectal Lesion Excisions Using...

Post-operative PainComplications

Transanal Endoscopic Microsurgery (TEM) is a minimally invasive technique used to remove rectal tumours. After the tumour has been removed from the rectum, the surgeon has a choice to close the defect or leave the defect open and naturally close. Currently, both options are accepted as standard care. Leaving the defect open to close naturally has some possible advantages, including shortened operation time and similar rates of postoperative complications. However, there is some concern that not surgically closing the defect may lead to more postoperative pain and delay in recovery. The study will be a double blind randomized controlled trial and determine whether patients who have rectal wall defect sutured closed have less post-operative pain compared to patients whose defect is left open.

A Multicenter, Randomized, Placebo-Controlled Phase 2 Study to Evaluate the Clinical Efficacy, Safety,...

Post Operative Pain

The purpose of this study is to evaluate three different dosage strengths of sublingual ARX-F01 (Sufentanil NanoTab) versus a sublingual Placebo NanoTab for the treatment of post-operative pain in subjects following total knee replacement surgery. We hypothesize that subjects receiving placebo will have poor pain relief and will drop out of the study sooner and more often than the ARX-F01-treated subjects.

The Pharmacokinetics of Ketorolac Tromethamine Administered Intranasally (IN) for Postoperative...

Postoperative Pain

This was an open-label PK study in pediatric subjects who had undergone general surgery. Each subject's study participation consisted of a screening visit, a single-dose treatment with intranasal ketorolac (IN) tromethamine, and a follow-up visit. Following surgery, subjects received IN ketorolac 15 mg (weight < 50 kg) or 30 mg (weight > or = 50 kg) when pain relief was indicated. For pain not relieved by the study drug, the subjects had access to an opioid analgesic administered by patient-controlled analgesia (PCA). Blood samples for pharmacokinetic analysis were obtained at specified time points following the dose of ketorolac.

Post-operative Pain

The objective of this prospective randomized double-blind study is to evaluate the added analgesic value of clonidine to the conventional local bupivacaine wound infiltration in posterior spine surgery.

Effects of Jet Hydro Dissection in Breast Augmentation Postoperative Pain

Breast Augmentation

ERBEjet Breast augmentation is a novel method of dissection of the subpectoral pocket. Study is designed to differentiate parameters of pain between randomized laterality using no touch technique. THIS IS NOT A FREE STUDY. Patients are required to pay the initial cost of surgery but will receive a refund of a partial payment. Patients must undergo evaluation at consultation and surgical quote is provided.
