The main question[s] it aims to answer are: • In patients with symptomatic irreversible pulpitis does the use of bioceramic material in partial pulpotomy decrease amount of post operative pain in comparison to conventional root canal treatment? Participants will record the intensity of pain at 24,48, 72 hours postoperatively.

Subpectoral Bupivacaine for Pain Management in Adolescent Reduction Mammaplasty

The goal of this randomized control trial is to in [describe participant population/health conditions]. The main question it aims to answer is: • Is the use of intraoperative subpectoral bupivacaine associated with decreased post-operative pain in adolescent patients who undergo bilateral reduction mammaplasty Participants will be randomized into the study group that intraoperatively receives 20cc of subpectoral bupivacaine injections or into the control group that intraoperatively receives 20cc of injectable saline subpectorally. All participants will keep a pain log and pain medication log at home for the first week following surgery. Researchers will compare to see if patients who receive subpectoral bupivacaine have lower pain scores in the PACU, and lower use of narcotics post-operatively when compared to the control group who receive injectable saline.

Radical prostatectomy is performed with a median incision below the umbilicus. Although the position is supine, the waist extension movement is created in order to facilitate access to the surgical site. The investigator think that this may be a factor affecting the postoperative comfort, not only in the pain in the surgical field, but especially in patients with low back pain (facet joint pain, etc.). Techniques that provide quality postoperative recovery with reduced morbidity and rapid return to daily activities are important for anesthesiologists. In this study, the investigator aimed to evaluate the postoperative recovery quality (Quality of Recovery score (QoR-40)) of patients who underwent open radical prostatectomy and underwent erector spina plan block and wound infiltration for postoperative analgesia.

Placement of chest tube is the standard procedure after surgery, which causes pain that cannot be ignored. The investigators aimed to determine whether a muscle layer fixation of thoracic drainage tube could release postoperative pain in patients with uniport thoracoscopic pulmonary resection compared with conventional skin fixation.

Video-assisted thoracic surgery (VATS) has become a common procedure in thoracic surgery. Severe postoperative pain may be encountered in patients undergoing VATS. Analgesic methods such as thoracic paravertebral block (TPVB), intercostal block, serratus anterior plane block (SAPB), and erector spinae plane block (ESPB) are widely used for VATS. Among these methods, ultrasound (US) guided TPVB is the most preferred method. In recent years, the frequency of application of plane blocks as a component of multimodal analgesia has been increased. ESPB and SAPB are some of them. In addition, SAPB application is increasing in patients who underwent thoracotomy and VATS. There is no consensus on the dose of analgesia in these studies. There are studies on volumes between 10 ml and 40 ml in the literature. In this study, it was aimed to compare the volumes of 20 ml and 30 ml containing local anesthetic at the same concentration (0.25% bupivacaine) of SAPB block to be performed with USG in patients who underwent VATS.

Chronic Post-surgical Pain

The current project will (1) enhance our understanding of the neurobiology of chronic post-surgical pain (CPSP); (2) provide a metric to follow patients with CPSP in the clinic; (3) provide a metric for those who will chronify; and (4) understand the age-related differences in CPSP. Ultimately, an improved comprehension of mechanisms linked to CPSP will provide finer tools for optimizing the selection of treatments for individual patients. Moreover, data that demonstrates the underlying pathobiological pain mechanism(s) active in CPSP, particularly those non-responsive to current therapies, may be used to validate novel strategies both pharmacological and non-pharmacological.
