Time Restricted Eating for Metabolic and Psychological Optimization
Mild Cognitive ImpairmentObesityObesity and related metabolic comorbidities have been associated with more than a 4-fold increased risk of incident cognitive impairment, including Alzheimer's disease and related dementias (ADRD). Dysfunctional metabolic flexibility is increasingly recognized as a critical mechanism linking metabolic risk factors to risk of cognitive impairment, although few studies portable behavioral strategies to enhance metabolic function among individuals at risk for ADRD. The present study will examine the feasibility and acceptability of a 12-week time restricted feeding intervention among individuals with mild cognitive impairment (MCI). Changes in cognitive and metabolic function will also be examined.
A Pilot Randomized Controlled Trial: CoINTEGRATE
Neurocognitive DisordersCognitive Dysfunction3 moreThe purpose of this study is to examine the feasibility of comprehensive multimodal individually tailored Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Rehabilitation Therapy (CRT), and modifiable lifestyle sessions. The study team hypothesizes that combining evidence-based cognitive and affective therapies with lifestyle modifications is feasible and will improve the community integration (CI) and Quality of life (QoL) in patients with a neurocognitive disorder compared to usual care.

Cognitive Effects of Roflumilast in (a)MCI and Mild Dementia Patients
Mild Cognitive ImpairmentMild Dementia1 moreThe aim of the current project is to validate whether chronic intake (24 weeks) roflumilast (PDE4 inhibitor) can improve cognition in patients with (amnestic) mild cognitive impairment (MCI) and in patients with mild dementia. The project will demonstrate whether episodic memory, but also attention, information processing or executive function improves with chronic administration of roflumilast in (a)MCI and mild dementia patients.
Decreasing Preoperative Stress to Prevent Postoperative Delirium and Postoperative Cognitive Decline...
Preoperative StressPostoperative Cognitive Dysfunction1 morePatients undergoing cardiac surgery often complain of anxiety before a major operation and the resulting stress. This circumstance is a risk factor for mental problems that may occur after the operation (e.g., delirium or memory deficits). This study aims to prevent these discomforts by a preoperative relaxation intervention.
The Interactive Physical and Cognitive Exercise System (v3) for Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI)...
MCIMild Cognitive Impairment2 moreThe primary purpose of this study is to attempt to replicate and extend promising pilot findings regarding the cognitive benefits of in-home neuro-exergaming with iPACES (interactive Physical and Cognitive Exercise System v3) for persons with mild cognitive impairment (MCI). Participants will include persons with MCI and their co-residing partner who both exercise at home 3-5 times per week for at least 6 months and are followed through one year. All participation is "remote" (completed at home), with all equipment (pedaler, tablet, etc.) supplied directly to the home, and with all study measures completed via videoconference and mail.
Telehealth Psychotherapy for Anxiety in Persons With Cognitive Impairment
PsychotherapyCognitive Impairment1 moreThis project will pilot a tailored Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) intervention delivered via telehealth videoconferencing (Tele-CBT) to reduce anxiety in people living with cognitive impairment. A process evaluation will inform its feasibility and implementation in the community nation-wide.
High Definition Transcranial Direct Current Stimulation (HD-tDCS) in Patients With Mild Cognitive...
Mild Cognitive ImpairmentThe study aimed to investigate whether high definition transcranial direct current stimulation (HD-tDCS) could benefit global cognitive function and sub-domains of cognition (visual/verbal/working memory, executive function, attention, processing speed, language, and frontal lobe function), mood (depression and anxiety), and subjective memory impairment in patients with mild cognitive impairment.
Ashwagandha for Cognitive Dysfunction
Chemo FogThis is a 1:1 randomized double blinded placebo controlled trial. • To determine if ashwagandha can improve cognitive dysfunction when compared with placebo in patients undergoing chemotherapy for cancer.
Addressing Problems in Managing Daily Tasks Due to Poststroke Cognitive Impairments
Cognitive ImpairmentStrokeThe purpose of this study is to investigate feasibility aspects of an intervention targeting problems in managing daily tasks due to mild-to-moderate poststroke cognitive impairments. We will specifically address uncertainties related to intervention content and delivery, and trial design and conduct.
