Electroencephalographic Biomarker to Predict Acute Post-operatory Cognitive Dysfunction
Cognitive DysfunctionPostoperative DeliriumAcute post-operatory cognitive dysfunction states are one of the most important complications in older patients after surgery. Two acute cognitive dysfunctions have been described: postoperative delirium (PD) and postoperative subsyndromal delirium (PSSD). Patients who develop delirium, both as a complete or incomplete syndrome, have poor long-term outcomes, such as longer length of hospital stay, institutionalization at discharge, and even higher mortality, and consequently, the human and economic costs significantly increase for the health system. Here the research team will use an observational cohort, investigator blinded in two-center with a primary endpoint to validate the relative alpha power ratio as a predictive biomarker of postoperative cognitive dysfunctions.

Neurocognitive DysfunctionThe aim of the entire project was to perform a translation and cultural adaptation of the Addenbrooke's Cognitive Examination - III (ACE-III), adhering to the Translation and Cultural Adaptation of Patient Reported Outcomes Measures-Principles of Good Practice, in order to make it available to German clinicians. Part of the translation process is the cognitive debriefing which will be performed as a survey which rates the applicability of every single item as well as of the entire Addenbrooke's Cognitive Examination - III tool.

Alzheimer DiseaseIntestinal MicrobiotaThe objective of the study is to highlight a modification of the composition of the intestinal microbiota associated with the diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease and its most unfavorable form, Rapid Cognitive Decline (DCR). This identification could lead to diagnostic strategies based on the analysis of the intestinal microbiome, and preventive and curative treatments, based on the modulation of intestinal microbiota
