Ovarian CancerThis clinical study will use the small molecule translocator protein (TSPO) ligand, 18F-labeled DPA- 714, to visualize and quantify neuroinflammation in treatment naivete women with stage 1-4 newly diagnosed ovarian cancer (without brain metastases) prior to starting neoadjuvant chemotherapy treatment (baseline) and within a month of completing first 6 cycles of cytotoxic chemotherapy treatment (follow-up). In addition, we will use the well-characterized small molecule PET(Positron Emission Tomography) tracer, 11C-labeled Pittsburgh compound B (PiB) to visualize and quantify the regional brain distribution of pathological amyloid deposition at baseline only. The brain amyloid PET and MRI data acquired through this study will be correlated with cognitive test data, clinical data, genetic testing, and biospecimens collected in this study.

It will look at whether the results of G:DATA match the results of tests that are used to diagnose people with Alzheimer's Disease now. The Investigators will also ask patients and healthcare staff for participant views on the G:DATA game.

The Study on Nutritional Status of Patients With Mild Cognitive Impairment
Mild Cognitive ImpairmentThe global aging population is rising year by year. According to the result of Taiwan epidemiological survey, dementia has become the health issue in aging population. Mild cognitive function impairment may present years before dementia is diagnosed. Therefore early diagnosis of dementia at its Mild cognitive function impairment stage is beneficial for disease prevention and potentially delaying the deterioration of cognitive function impairment. Nutritional status includes a healthy diet, favor body composition and activity habits, which not only reduces the risk of nutritional metabolic diseases, but also has a direct relationship with delaying cognitive function impairment. The dietary quality index of Mediterranean-Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension Intervention for Neurodegenerative Delay diet (MIND diet) may prevent aging and positively associated with delaying dementia in elderly. However, the result in dietary quality index and delaying cognitive function impairment from current studies were still unclear. In additions, based on the differences in dietary patterns between Taiwan and Western countries, no current calorie and dietary nutrition recommendations. This cross-sectional study is to investigate the association between dietary quality index and nutritional status risk factors in cognitive function impairment patients and expected to develop an assessment tool for Taiwanese clinical nutrition strategies and applications.

DementiaAlzheimer Disease3 moreAbout the research There are currently 850,000 people living with dementia in the United Kingdom. It is now understand that Alzheimer's disease (AzD) can result from damaged blood vessels in the brain. Brain blood flow can be measured using ultrasound, known as transcranial Doppler ultrasonography (or TCD). Brain training (BT) uses exercises or brain-teasers to try to make the brain work faster and more accurately. In recent years, BT has been used to try to improve memory, mood, learning, quality of life, and ability to carry out every-day activities in people with dementia. Aims To find out how acceptable and manageable this BT program is for people with dementia to undertake larger studies of BT in the future. To look for any benefits for people with dementia, such as, improvements in quality of life, ability to carry out everyday tasks, mood, and brain blood flow. How will the research be carried out? Forty patients with AzD, or mild cognitive impairment (MCI), and twenty healthy older adults will be recruited from memory and geriatric clinics, Join Dementia Research, general practice surgeries and community groups. Participants will be randomly assigned to brain training or control. The control group will be offered the program at the end of the study. First visit: Participants will complete questionnaires on quality of life, mood, everyday abilities, memory and an assessment of brain blood flow Brain training program: Participants will complete 15-30 minute sessions, 3-5 times per week Follow-up: participants will repeat the questionnaires and assessment of brain blood flow Interviews and feedback: to discuss how participants felt the program went, and find out if there are any ways it could be improved.

This randomized, multisite, 3-arm study will investigate the impact of computerized brain fitness vs yoga vs an active control group (wellness education) on changes in cognitive function, daily functioning and quality of life in persons with Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI) and their partner. In addition, in vivo neuroimaging measures of plasticity during the pre- and post-intervention periods will be measured and compared between the three different treatment groups. These neuroimaging measures of plasticity will be investigated in their relationship to the cognitive outcomes within each group.
