Diverticular Sigmoïditis

The primary outcome measure is to compare efficacy of an association of Secnidazol(2g)-Ciprofloxacin(1g) (during 3 days) versus 3g of Amoxicillin-Clavulanic Acid during 10 days for the Treatment of Uncomplicated Episode of Diverticular Sigmoïditis Among Adults in clinical and biological cure. The cure rate will be evaluated at the second visit (14 days after the inclusion visit)

A Phase III Trial of HMPL-004 in Patients With Mild to Moderate Active Ulcerative Colitis

Ulcerative Colitis

A placebo controlled study of two doses of HMPL-004 in patients with active mild to moderate ulcerative colitis (UC), with a modified Mayo Score 4-10 and an endoscopy subscore of 2-3, taking mesalamine (or equivalent) as a concomitant medication. The objective is to evaluate the efficacy and safety of HMPL-004 with mesalamine (mesalamine treatment failures). Efficacy will be measured by a comparison of the proportion of patients in each treatment group attaining clinical remission at Week 8 as compared to placebo.

Propionyl-L-Carnitine Hydrochloride in Patients With Mild Ulcerative Colitis; Efficacy, Safety and...

Ulcerative Colitis

The aim of the trial is to test safety, tolerability and efficacy of Propionyl-L-carnitine modified release tablets 1g/die in reducing the symptoms of the disease with respect to the proportion of patients with disease remission at the end of the 8 weeks of treatment. It will also aim to investigate capability of the treatment in the maintenance of remission after four weeks of treatment interruption; histological changes will be also evaluated and finally, improvement in the overall quality of life as measured by the Short Inflammatory Bowel Disease Questionnaire (SIBDQ) will be investigated.

Efficacy & Safety in Moderately Active Refractory Ulcerative Colitis Patients

Ulcerative Colitis

This study is designed as a proof of concept of KRP203 for induction of remission in ulcerative colitis (UC). The purpose of this study is to evaluate clinical benefit of KRP203 in subjects with moderately active refractory ulcerative colitis. The study will provide safety and tolerability data in this subject population up to eight weeks of treatment with KRP203. Additionally, this study will evaluate the duration of a clinical response to KRP203 by following up responding subjects for an additional 12 weeks.

Budesonide Versus Placebo for the Treatment of Lymphocytic Colitis

Lymphocytic ColitisDiarrhea

Patients will receive budesonide or placebo for the treatment of active lymphocytic colitis. This study includes stool collections, blood draws, weekly questionnaires and a sigmoidoscopy. The study hypothesis is that budesonide will be safe and effective compared with placebo for the treatment of diarrhea in lymphocytic colitis.

HealthyColitis1 more

The purpose of this study is to evaluate safety and tolerability of JNJ 66525433 compared with placebo after administration of: 1) single ascending oral doses of JNJ 66525433 administered to healthy participants (Part 1), 2) multiple, ascending oral doses of JNJ 66525433, administered to healthy participants once daily over 14 consecutive days (Part 2), and 3) multiple oral doses of JNJ 66525433, administered once daily over 14 consecutive and once daily over 42 consecutive days in participants with ulcerative colitis (UC) (Part 3).

Antimicrobial Therapy for Ulcerative Colitis (UC)

Ulcerative Colitis

The Aim of this randoized controlled pilot study is to find a better treatment strategy for active UC based on the recent knowledge regarding the microbiota in UC and the beneficial or detrimental effects of antibiotics in restoring gut health and reducing inflammation. This study is designed to determine whether therapy with two antibiotics during a flare - amoxicillin and doxycillin, will be better than the current published antibiotic treatment combination using these antibiotics with metronidazole ( as the latter which may degrade beneficial species without adding benefit towards reducing pathobionts)
