This is an observational retrospective cohort study to determine metachronous peritoneal carcinomatosis in a specific subgroup of colon cancer patients, those with a final pathologic exam corresponding to pT4 tumors. Based on a sample size calculation of 1152 patients, a retrospective review of a three year period of every participant hospitals, 50 in total, of different characteristics, was stablished. Demographic, clinical, operative, histologic and oncologic follow-up variables were recorded.

BACKGROUND: Textbook outcome (TO) is a multidimensional quality management tool that uses a set of traditional surgical measures to reflect an "ideal" surgical result for a particular pathology. The aim of the present study is to record the rate of TO in patients undergoing elective surgery for colon cancer. MATERIAL AND METHODS: Retrospective study of all patients undergoing scheduled colon cancer surgery at a Spanish university hospital from September 2012 to August 2016. Patients with rectal cancer were excluded. The variables included in the definition of TO were: R0 resection, number of isolated nodes ≥12, no Clavien-Dindo ≥IIIa complications, no prolonged stay, no readmissions, and no mortality in the first 30 days. The main objective of this study is to analyse the achievement of TO in a series of patients undergoing scheduled colon cancer resection at the Doctor Balmis General University Hospital in Alicante, Spain. The investigators assess the relationship between TO and overall and disease-free survival, and analyse the indicators included in the definition of TO in colon cancer surgery in order to establish recommendations for its standardization.

Oxygen reserve index (ORI) measured by multiple wave pulse co-oximeter is a new technological development in medical science. It can be difficult to obtain the perspective of patients who have had bowel surgery. This study is being done because the investigators are trying to find out whether patient-reported outcomes, (results reported to investigators by the patient), on a regular basis, will help the investigators provide better patient care and symptom management. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to determine if it is possible and if it is useful to their medical care for patients who have had bowel surgery to complete surveys about their symptoms on a regular basis. In this study the surveys are completed from home, by web or by telephone, every month for 6 months. The results of this study will guide the design of large research studies on cancer-related bowel function. The purpose of this study is to develop a bowel function questionnaire for patients with colorectal cancer. The questionnaire will be used in future clinical trials to assess bowel function.

The main objective of this study is to validate the utility of IgE anti-cetuximab in the treatment strategy to identify patients at risk for a severe allergic reaction to cetuximab (grade 3 or 4 of the classification of NCI) and thus reduce the incidence of severe reactions.

This study is to examine if there is improved sensitivity in detecting hepatic lesions using respiratory gating and if there is an improvement in confidence defining lesions as benign or malignant.
