Combined Medial and Caudal Approach for Right Hemicolectomy

Colon Cancer

Right sided hemicolectomy is the standard type of operation for cancers in the caecum, the ascending colon, proximal transverse colon. The aim of this study was to assess the safety and feasibility of combined medial and caudal approach in performing right hemicolectomy and to compare outcome between laparoscopic and open surgery in right colon cancer.

Lower or Standard Dose Regorafenib in Treating Patients With Refractory Metastatic Colorectal Cancer...

Colon AdenocarcinomaRectal Adenocarcinoma7 more

This randomized phase II trial studies how well lower-dose compared to standard dose regorafenib works in treating patients with colorectal cancer that has spread from the primary site (place where it started) to other places in the body and does not respond to treatment. Regorafenib may stop the growth of colorectal cancer by blocking the growth of new blood vessels necessary for tumor growth and by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth. It is not yet known whether lower-dose or standard dose regorafenib is more effective in treating patients with colorectal cancer. Clobetasol propionate is a steroid cream that is commonly used to treat a variety of skin conditions and may help prevent hand-foot skin reactions in patients receiving regorafenib.

Cetuximab and Everolimus in Treating Patients With Metastatic or Recurrent Colon Cancer or Head...

Recurrent Adenoid Cystic Carcinoma of the Oral CavityRecurrent Basal Cell Carcinoma of the Lip47 more

This phase I trial studies the side effects and best dose of cetuximab when given together with everolimus in treating patients with metastatic or recurrent colon cancer or head and neck cancer. Monoclonal antibodies, such as cetuximab, can block tumor growth in different ways. Some block the ability of the tumor to grow and spread. Others find tumor cells and help kill them or carry tumor-killing substances to them. Everolimus may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking blood flow to the tumor. Giving cetuximab together with everolimus may be an effective treatment for colon cancer or head and neck cancer

Colorectal Cancer

This expanded access study will assess the safety and efficacy of intravenous bevacizumab (5 mg/kg every 2 weeks or 7.5 mg/kg every 3 weeks) in combination with fluoropyrimidine-based chemotherapy as first line treatment in participants with metastatic cancer of the colon or rectum. The anticipated time on study treatment is 3-12 months.

Clinical and Translational Study of STA-9090

Colon CancerRectal Cancer

The purpose of this study is to find out what effects, good and/or bad STA-9090 has on colorectal cancer. This is a phase II trial which tests both how well the drug works in fighting your cancer as well as any possible side effects it will have on the patient. Cancer is a disease of uncontrolled growth. This growth is controlled in part by a series of proteins that are part of a growth pathway. Some of these proteins are destroyed by a protein called HSP90 and STA-9090 is a test drug which blocks one of the proteins that helps cancer grow. This study will also look at molecular markers that may affect how the cancer grows, and how it responds to treatment.

Combining Curcumin With FOLFOX Chemotherapy in Patients With Inoperable Colorectal Cancer

Colonic CancerMetastasis

Oral curcumin (complex C3, Sabinsa Corp, Utah) will be given to patients with inoperable colorectal metastases who will be commencing standard care oxaliplatin-based (FOLFOX) chemotherapy for up to 12 cycles(approximately 6 months) of treatment. Primary measurements focus on safety and tolerability. These will be recorded in real-time and report the number and severity of adverse events. Secondary measurements will include efficacy, (measured by response rate with RECIST and overall survival in months) supported by biomarker analysis.

Combination Chemotherapy in Treating Patients With Stage III Colon Cancer

Adenocarcinoma of the ColonStage III Colon Cancer

Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Combining more than one drug may kill more tumor cells. It is not yet known which chemotherapy regimen is more effective for stage III colon cancer. Randomized phase III trial to compare the effectiveness of fluorouracil plus leucovorin with or without irinotecan in treating patients who have undergone surgery for stage III colon cancer.
