Colorectal Cancer Screening Navigator Program for Low Income and Non-English Speaking Populations...
Colorectal CancerThe goal of this study is to implement and in a controlled randomised trial test a program to identify and overcome barriers to CRC screening and thus improve CRC screening rates at MGH Chelsea HC. Our hypothesis is that a bilingual navigator program, enhanced by using trained interpreting staff will improve CRC screening rates at MGH Chelsea HC overall, and decrease disparities between patients with limited English proficiency and English speakers
Physicians' Health Study II
CancerProstate Cancer4 moreThe use of vitamin E, vitamin C, beta carotene, and/or multivitamins may keep cancer, cardiovascular disease, eye diseases, or cognitive decline from occurring. This randomized clinical trial studied vitamin E, vitamin C, beta carotene, and/or multivitamins to see how well they work compared with placebos in preventing cancer, cardiovascular disease, eye disease, and cognitive decline in male doctors aged 50 years and older.
Tracheal Colonization and Outcome After Major Abdominal Cancer Surgery
Colorectal Neoplasms MalignantSurgical Procedures4 moreThe goals of this study were to investigate whether two anesthesia regimens, with and without N2O, and bacterial colonization influence respiratory complications after major abdominal surgery for cancer.
Detection of KRAS, NRAS et BRAF Mutations in Plasma Circulating DNA From Patients With Metastatic...
Colorectal Cancer MetastaticRAS genotyping is mandatory for the prescription of anti-EGFR (epidermal growth factor receptor) therapies in patients with metastatic colorectal cancer. The standard genotyping is assessed on formalin-fixed paraffin embedded tumour tissue. This study compares RAS and BRAF genotyping results achieved in analyzing circulating plasma DNA using OncoBEAM™ technique with those achieved using the standard genotyping techniques and formalin-fixed paraffin embedded samples.
Study of Narrow Band Imaging in the Characterization of Residual Neoplasia After Endoscopic Piecemeal...
Colorectal NeoplasmsThis study is designed to evaluate the diagnostic accuracy of Narrow Band Imaging (NBI) compared with High Definition White Light colonoscopy (WLE) for detection of residual neoplasia in subjects with piecemeal polypectomy scars.
A Multicenter Clinical Trial on Laparoscopic Colorectal Cancer Surgery Compared With Open Surgery...
Colorectal CancerThe purpose of this study is to verify the 5-year disease free survival (DFS) of resectable colorectal cancer after laparoscopic surgery according to a Chinese Operative Standard was not inferior to open surgery.
Lapatinib Plus Trametinib in KRAS Mutant NSCLC
Colorectal CancerThis is an open-label phase I/II multi-center study consisting of two parts. Part A of this study is designed to identify the recommended phase 2 dose (RP2D) of lapatinib combined with trametinib in patients with metastatic KRASm and PIK3CA wild-type (PIK3CAwt) non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Part B is designed to perform a randomized comparison of the lapatinib-trametinib combination versus standard of care therapy in patients with metastatic KRASm/PIK3CAwt NSCLC.
Intraoperative Intraportal Chemotherapy Combined With Adjuvant Chemotherapy for Stage II and III...
Colorectal NeoplasmsNeoplasm Metastasis1 moreIn this study, the investigators assessed whether intraoperative Intraportal infusion of 5-FU and oxaliplatin is able to prevent liver metastasis in patients receiving curative colorectal cancer resection.
Influence of a Brief Intervention on CRC Screening
Colorectal CancerQualitative data were collected from 5 General Practionners (GPs) focus groups, 24 patient interviews and 35 recorded consultations from 9 GPs to explore colorectal cancer (CRC) screening in France The qualitative data indicated that improvement was needed in patient-centered communication. Educational material was developed based on these triangulated data with two different scenarios to improve communication with patients: one for a compliant patient, another for a non compliant patient The hypothesis is that a brief intervention on GPs can improve the patients' participation rate to colorectal screening Method : cluster randomized control trial (cluster unit : GPs practices) With a brief intervention on a randomized population of GPs in the district of Val d'Oise Inclusion criteria: GPs with a practice in the district of Val d'Oise and active in the colorectal mass screening
Water Exchange Versus Carbon Dioxide for Colonoscopy
Colorectal CancerColorectal Adenomas2 moreColonoscopy is commonly used in screening for colorectal cancer. A refined technique of colonoscopy involving the use of water as the sole modality to aid colonoscope insertion, water exchange, has been described in recent research papers to decrease patient discomfort and pain, and to reduce the need for sedation during colonoscopy when compared with standard air insufflation. Carbon dioxide insufflation has been described to decrease patient discomfort after colonoscopy. No randomized trial has so far compared the use of water exchange to carbon dioxide insufflation. Our hypothesis is that water exchange inflicts less discomfort to patients undergoing colonoscopy than carbon dioxide insufflation. Patients undergoing screening colonoscopy in two centers in Norway, one center in Poland and one center in The Netherlands will be enrolled and randomized to examination of either of the two methods.
