BJI Inoplex 2 : Test for Diagnosis of Prosthetic Infections
Bone and Joint Prosthetic InfectionsA national, prospective, open-label, non-interventional, multicentre, controlled study designed to evaluate a diagnostic method in patients undergoing hip, knee or shoulder prosthetic removal regardless of whether or not infection is suspected. Serological test results will have no impact on the therapeutic approach. Study objective: To evaluate the diagnostic performance of an antibody detection kit for the serological diagnosis of bone and joint prosthetic device infections cause by Staphylococci, Streptococci, Propionibacterium acnes (P. acnes) and Gram-negative bacteria versus the reference method: the bacterial culture of deep intraoperative samples.

Preparing for Adolescent HIV Vaccine Trials in South Africa:
HIV InfectionHIV InfectionsThis study will use the licensed HPV vaccine, Gardasil, as a surrogate for an HIV vaccine, in order to explore some of the ethico-legal,psycho-social and logistical challenges involved in running an HIV vaccine trial in adolescents.

Oral Human Papillomavirus Infection in HIV-infected Men
Papillomavirus InfectionsHIV InfectionsHuman papillomavirus (HPV)-infection belong to the most common sexually transmitted diseases worldwide. HIV-infected men having sex with men /MSM) are strongly associated with a higher prevalence of genitoanal HPV-infection, and perianal HPV-infections have been detected in up to 90% of HIV-positive men. The data concerning the incidence of oral HPV-infection in HIV-positive men, especially in the era of highly antiretroviral therapy, are conflicting. Thus, this prospective study mainly focuses on the incidence and prevalence of oral HPV-infection, spectrum of HPV-types, and oral high-risk HPV viral load in HIV-positive men.

Evaluation of the Role of Plasma Procalcitonin in Prediction of Intra-amniotic Infection in Preterm...
Intra-amniotic Subclinical Infection. It is hypothesized that the procalcitonin has a role to play in prediction of intra-amniotic subclinical infection.

Vietnam Cryptococcal Retention in Care Study Version 1.0
MeningitisCryptococcal4 moreIt is hypothesized that implementing plasma CrAg screening in clinics providing routine HIV care will enable identification of Vietnamese adult patients with advanced HIV (CD4 ≤100 cells/μL) who have early cryptococcal disease, enable prompt preemptive treatment with high-dose fluconazole, and improve survival.

Cost of Off-label Antibiotics in Osteoarticular Infections
Bone InfectionJoint InfectionDue to the emergence of multidrug-resistant micro-organisms in patients with bone and joint infection (BJI), the prescription of off-labeled antibiotics seem to be more and more common as part of routine care. These new antibiotics are, however, more expensive, and there are no precise data in France regarding the volume and cost of such off-label prescriptions in hospital, in the post-acute care structures, and in the outpatient setting. The objective of this study is to estimate the cost of using these antibiotics over 2 years for patients in a reference center for the management of complex bone and joint infection (CRIOAc)

Infections Following NeuroSurgery (INS)
Infections Nervous SystemNosocomial Infection2 moreNeurosurgery (NS) is essential for the treatment of various diseases such as malignant tumors, vascular conditions, spinal stenosis or trauma. However, NS can be complicated by the onset of infections, directly related to surgery or to hospitalization. Little is known regarding the epidemiology, the optimal treatment regimens and the outcome of infections following NS (I-NS). The study aims at investigating the clinical and microbiological characteristics as well as the outcomes of I-NS occurring at a single Institution (IRCCS Neuromed, Pozzilli, Italy) during the period 2016-2018. Patients with at least 1 infective episode requiring antimicrobial therapy are included in this retrospective observational study.

Impact of Number of Rank of B-lactam Antibiotics on Emergence on Multidrug Resistant Bacteria
Resistant InfectionAntibiotic Resistant Infection2 moreThis study evaluates the impact of rank of Beta lactam antibiotics on emergence of mutlidrug resistant bacteria colonization in intensive care It's retrospective case controle study. Cases are colonized patient by multidrug resistant bacteria hospitalized in intensive care during the fist hospitalization in intensive care. Temoin are patients with the same characteristics than case but no colonized by multidrug resistant bacteria.

A Study of Acequias Contamination & Association of Infectious Diseases in Peru
Water-Related DiseasesA major water supply utilized in the Lambayeque region are acequias. Acequias are irrigation canals that are utilized by the agriculture industry for the cultivation of consumables. Utilization of contaminated water to irrigate consumables can lead to foodborne illnesses. Contamination studies on the acequias in the Lambayeque region have not been performed to date. The purpose of this study is to test contamination of acequias in 9 districts in Lambayeque and determine if a difference in infection rates exists in districts with contaminated acequias vs. districts without contaminated acequias for the following diseases: H. pylori, Adenovirus, Rotavirus.

Identification of the Cutaneous Microbiota in Patients With Cutaneous Infection (MICROBIOTA)
Skin InfectionsIdentify the cutaneous microbiota on a cutaneous lesion (cellulite, wound, rash, etc.) on a swab, biopsies or abscess puncture and on "healthy" skin on a skin swab performed for cutaneous mapping to search for staphylococcal deposits.
