Influence of Arrangement of Small Intestine Order on the Recovery of Bowel Function After Laparoscopic...
Postoperative ComplicationsThe method of arranging and restoring the position of the small intestine under laparoscopy is used to determine whether it can promote the recovery of intestinal function after colorectal surgery.
Impact of Iron Deficiency on the Incidence of Postoperative Infections
Iron-deficiencyPostoperative Complications1 moreIron deficiency is a common state during the perioperative period. Data from literature do not allow us to conclude on how perioperative iron deficiency influences postoperative infections occurrence. This prospective observational study aims to assessed the postoperative infections incidence according to the preoperative iron-stock status.
Perioperative Personalized Blood Pressure Management
Blood PressureIntraoperative Hypotension1 moreThe investigators propose a pilot trial to (1) proof the concept that defining the intraoperative mean arterial pressure (MAP) intervention threshold based on the mean nighttime MAP (assessed using preoperative automated blood pressure monitoring) results in clinically relevant (mean nighttime MAP ± 10 mmHg) different target values compared with using an absolute population-derived MAP intervention threshold of 65 mmHg (primary endpoint); (2) investigate if a personalized perioperative blood pressure management is feasibly in multi-center studies, especially if the target values can be sufficiently achieved (secondary endpoint); (3) study the impact of personalized perioperative blood pressure management on the incidence of myocardial injury after non-cardiac surgery (MINS) (exploratory endpoint); (4) study the impact of personalized perioperative blood pressure management on the incidence of acute kidney injury within the first three postoperative days according to the KDIGO (Kidney Disease: Improving Global Outcomes) definition without oliguric criteria (exploratory endpoint).
Nationwide Long-term Outcome Surveillance of Physiomesh® vs. Other Meshes in Laparoscopic Incisional...
HerniaAbdominal2 moreThe primary aim of the present study was to show how a national clinical register combined with other nationwide administrative registers may serve as a tool for pre- and post-marketing evaluation of new mesh and mesh fixation products for hernia surgery, using Physiomesh® versus other meshes designed for laparoscopic hernia repair as an example.
Dexamethasone for Cardiac Surgery Trial
Systemic Inflammatory Response SyndromeCardiac Diseases1 moreThis is a multicenter, randomized, double-blind trial, comparing clinical outcomes after the administration of high-dose dexamethasone versus placebo in patients undergoing heart surgery with the use of cardiopulmonary bypass. The primary endpoint is the occurrence of major complications (including all-cause mortality, myocardial infarction, stroke, renal failure, and prolonged mechanical ventilation) in the first 30 days after surgery.
Dexmedetomidine Versus Dexamethasone With Levobupivacaine in Interscalene Block
Postoperative AnalgesiaPostoperative ComplicationsThe investigators compared between dexamethasone and dexmedetomidine when added to levobupivacaine in the quality and duration of ultrasound-guided interscalene block during shoulder arthroscopy.
Personalized Blood Pressure Management
Blood PressureIntraoperative Hypotension1 moreThe aim of this research project is to find out whether a personalized definition of the lower blood pressure threshold based on the individual blood pressure profile by means of preoperative 24-hour blood pressure measurement can reduce organ damage (brain, kidney, heart) through reduced blood flow during surgery.
Rib Raising for Post-operative Ileus
Intestinal Pseudo-ObstructionManipulation5 moreWe are conducting a randomized controlled trial the use of rib raising for post-operative ileus. Rib raising is an osteopathic manipulative technique (OMT). We will recruit all patients undergoing major abdominal surgery and once they have been enrolled, we will randomize them to receive daily rib raising or a control technique where we place hands on the back but do not apply any pressure. In preliminary studies, Rib raising has been shown to reduce post-operative ileus and hospital length of stay by up to 50%.
Comparison of Two FiO2 (1 or 0.5) for Tracheal Extubation in Post-anesthesia Care Unit
AnesthesiaAtelectasis3 moreThe purpose of the study is to assess the optimal fraction of inspired oxygen (0.5 or 1) for extubation or removal of a supraglottic airway device after general anesthesia.
Application and Optimization of the International Study Group of Pancreatic Surgery (ISGPS) Definition...
Laparoscopic Pancreatic SurgeryPancreatic Fistula2 moreIn recent years, with the continuous development of minimally invasive techniques, laparoscopic pancreatic surgery has also been widely used. Although the postoperative mortality rate of laparoscopic pancreatic surgery has been decreasing as the technology continues to improve and mature, the complication rate reported varies widely among centers. The definition and grading criteria of ISGPS on postoperative complications of pancreatic surgery are mostly proposed based on open pancreatic surgery, and most of the data of the later related studies are also for open pancreatic surgery, while the applicability of the definition and grading criteria in laparoscopic pancreatic surgery is still lacking in systematic The study The main purpose of this study is to investigate the applicability of the ISGPS definition and grading criteria for pancreatic fistula, postoperative bleeding and delayed gastric emptying in laparoscopic pancreatic surgery.
