Postoperative Peripheral Neuropathy After Laparoscopic Colorectal Surgery

Peripheral NeuropathyPostoperative Complications

This prospective cohort study of patients undergoing colorectal surgery positioned conventionally with shoulder braces was performed. After initial results the implementation of the Pink Pad ® took place in order to compare the two groups. This study favours Pink Pad over conventional positioning concerning postoperative neuropathy.

Correlation of Preoperative Olfactory Identification Function With Frailty and Postoperative Complications...

FrailtyPerioperative/Postoperative Complications1 more

The aim of this research project is to evaluate whether olfactory identification impairment is a reliable predictor of preoperative frailty and of postoperative complications and mortality in a population of older patients scheduled for elective surgery. The investigators will measure preoperative olfactory identification function and evaluate whether olfactory impairment predicts frailty, using the Edmonton Frail Scale and handgrip strength. The investigators will analyze whether preoperative olfactory impairment predicts postoperative complications and mortality.

Impact of Various Diets on Surgical Complications

Complication,Postoperative

The optimalisation of the health status of patients scheduled for major surgery has been considered to be the most important point of perioperative care, and nutritional intervention has been perceived a key point of that intervention. This study was designed to assess the actual clinical significance of oral immunonutrition.

Comparison Arterial Blood Pressure and Cardiac Index-based Hemodynamic Management on Postoperative...

Myocardial InjuryPerioperative/Postoperative Complications

The primary aim of this study is to compare mean arterial pressure (MAP) and cardiac index (CI) based intraoperative hemodynamic management in terms of postoperative high sensitive troponin elevation. The hypothesis of the study is that there will be at least 5ng/L difference between the two groups in terms of troponin elevation occurring in the postoperative period. When power analysis was performed with this primary output, it was calculated that while alpha was 0.05 beta 0.2, 42 patients in each group, a total of 84 patients were required.
