Functional Constipation

Introduction: Constipation is one of the gastrointestinal disorders MOST frequent That Affects around 20% of the western population, being more frequent in the female gender (M1.5: H1). Constipation can be primary, When causes constipation associated With (medication, mechanical obstruction, spinal cord injury, etc.) and secondary. There are multiple therapeutic options for the management of constipation, changes in lifestyle Including, the intake of fiber, laxatives and pharmacological treatment and in selected cases (colonic inertia) surgery. The first option in the therapeutic management for Patients With constipation are changes in lifestyle, Among Which is the type of diet (increase in fiber intake, Which Has Been Associated With an improvement in the fecal matter and the evacuation frequency), liquid intake and exercise. Aim: To Evaluate the efficacy of the blue agave fructans Tequilana Weber in Patients With functional constipation Methods: This is a prospective, randomized, controlled and single blind study to determine the phase III efficacy of the blue agave fructans Tequilana Weber intake in subjects with functional constipation. In order to Achieve so, it is planned to include over 18 years of Patients age Fulfill the WHO as well as inclusion criteria The Rome III criteria for functional constipation. Statistical analysis plan: The data obtained will be analyzed with SPSS version 24. For continuous variables the results are presented in mean ± standard deviation when the variables are normally distributed or medians and percentiles otherwise and as frequency and percentages when they were categorical. For basal and subsequent comparison to the intra intervention groups, Student's t-test for paired samples (variables with normal distribution) or the Mann-Whitney U (variables without normal distribution) is used in the case of continuous variables and X2 or the McNemar test in the case of categorical variables. For comparison between groups ANOVA (variables with normal distribution) or Kruskal-Wallis (non-normal distribution variables) used for continuous variables and the same percentage of change obtained when the variables are continuous. Also an analysis of covariance (ANCOVA) was performed to control variables that might have an effect on the response variables.

Effect of Probiotic on Comorbidity of Depression and Constipation

Comorbidity of Depression and Constipation

Depressive disorder, also known as depression, is a type of mood disorder characterized by persistent low mood. The incidence of depression worldwide is about 6%. The high comorbidity rate between depression and constipation indicated the role of the gut-brain axis in depression. Growing evidence suggested that the gut microbiota plays a key role in the development of depression. Probiotics can effectively improve constipation and regulate gut microbiota, and showed potential in alleviating depression. This study investigated the effect of formula probiotic (containing Lactobacillus paracasei, Bifidobacterium animals, Bifidobacterium longum, Bifidobacterium bifidum, and Lactobacillus plantarum) on the comorbidity of depression and constipation.

Efficacy of Fecal Microbiota Transplantation for Inflammatory Bowel Disease

Ulcerative ColitisCrohn Disease1 more

The gut microbiota is determined to constitute a "microbial organ" which has pivotal roles in the intestinal diseases and body's metabolism. Evidence from animal and human studies strongly supports the link between intestinal bacteria flora and inflammatory bowel diseases. Lots of studies showed its efficacy in treatment of severe Clostridium difficile colitis. Corticosteroid dependence in patients with ulcerative colitis (UC) and Crohn's disease (CD) is an important clinical problem and maintenance of steroid-free remission is a key treatment goal. Early studies using fecal microbiota transplantation (FMT) for Ulcerative Colitis (UC) and Crohn's diseases have also met with success. This is an first step into investigating the potential efficacy of standardized FMT through terminal ileum for UC and CD, the investigators propose to determine the efficiency and safety of FMT in a series of 80 patients with moderate to severe UC and CD.

ConstipationBowel Obstruction3 more

RATIONALE: Gathering information about changes in serotonin levels in patients undergoing chemotherapy for ovarian cancer, fallopian tube cancer, or primary peritoneal cancer may help doctors learn more about constipation caused by chemotherapy. PURPOSE: This clinical trial is studying how blood levels of serotonin effect constipation caused by chemotherapy in patients with newly diagnosed ovarian cancer, fallopian tube cancer, or primary peritoneal cancer.

Multicenter Randomized Controlled Trial to Compare the Outcome of Conservative Triple Target Treatment...

Chronic Obstipation

Previous studies revealed only a low evidence for the various biofeedback methods and pelvic floor exercises for treatment of chronic obstipation. The number of randomized controlled trials is low with in part significant systemic deficiencies. However, the results from the previous study with 3T treatment in patients with obstructed defecation syndrome (ODS) are so promising that a further randomized controlled trial appears useful to demonstrate a higher degree of evidence. The purpose of this study is to determine whether triple target treatment (3T) or EMG-Biofeedback alone are effective in the treatment of chronic obstipation and if the duration of treatment (3, 6 or 9 months) influence the efficacy.

ID-JPL934 for Abnormal Bowel Movement

Abnormal Bowel Movement Such as ConstipationDiarrhea1 more

Probiotics, which are part of the human body, are microorganisms, which are known to have beneficial effects when consumed in a certain amount, and have the function of controlling intestinal flora and inhibiting inflammation. Recently, probiotics have received much attention in the treatment of hypersensitivity syndrome. The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of probiotic strains, ID-JPL934, in the diagnosis of irritable bowel syndrome. Overall satisfaction with improvement of bowel habits such as diarrhea and constipation as well as abdominal discomfort and abdominal discomfort in the group receiving ID-JPL934 capsules (test food group or test group) and control group (control food group or control group) (0-10 point visual analogue scale) for each symptom before and after ingestion to evaluate the degree of improvement of the symptoms. The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between bacterial composition changes in the stool and the improvement of symptoms in the patients before and after ingestion.
