Prophylactic Phenobarbital After Neonatal Seizures
Neonatal SeizuresThe treatment of infants with medications after their seizures have stopped is very variable. No one knows if continuing treatment with phenobarbital for up to several months is helpful or harmful. This clinical trial is designed to help answer that question and provide data that will help determine standard of care for these children.
Trial to Assess Vagus Nerve Stimulation Therapy vs. Anti-Epileptic Drug (AED) Treatment in Children...
EpilepsyThis is a randomized study designed to compare long-term treatment outcomes in pediatric patients with refractory seizures treated with VNS (Vagus Nerve Stimulation) Therapy versus anti-epileptic drugs (AEDs). Seizure reduction, quality of life measures, and side effect profiles will be evaluated. The results of this study will provide controlled comparative data to better guide physicians in determining the best overall treatment strategy for patients with seizures who have failed initial AED therapy.
Effectiveness and Safety Study for RWJ-333369 as Adjunctive Therapy in Korean and Japanese Patients...
SeizuresThe purpose of the study is to evaluate the effectiveness and safety of adjunctive RWJ-333369 at a dose of 200 or 400 mg/day in comparison with placebo in Korean and Japanese partial epilepsy patients who have poor seizure control with one or two antiepileptics (AEDs).
Clinical Trial : TROCC (Quick Oral Treatment of Cluster Epileptic Seizures)
EpilepsyDrug ResistantThis is a double blind, placebo controlled, add-on clinical trial, of levetiracetam efficacy and safety, in epilepsy cluster seizure. Efficacy is evaluated in the range of 2 to 24 hours after taking the tablet. If the patient has a seizure during this interval, he is considered as a non-respondent patient.
An Open-Label Study Of Pregabalin In Subjects With Refractory Partial Seizures
EpilepsyThe main purpose of this trial is to allow continued access to pregabalin to Canadian subjects who participated in global pregabalin epilepsy studies 1008-010; 1008-035; 1008-114 and 1008-164 and to continue to study the long term safety of pregabalin administered as adjunctive therapy at dosages from 150 mg/day to 600 mg/day in Canadian subjects with refractory partial seizures.
Effectiveness Study Comparing Treatment With Drug(s) or Adjunctive VNS Therapy for Pharmacoresistant...
EpilepsiesPartialTo compare outcomes over 12 months of treatment with antiepileptic drugs (AEDs) alone or vagus nerve stimulation (VNS) therapy plus AEDs in patients who have partial seizures refractory to at least two, but not more than five, AEDs.
Evaluating the Role of Inflammation in Neonatal Epileptogenesis
Neonatal SeizureEpilepsy2 moreThe purpose of this study evaluate the relationship between inflammation and epilepsy in neonates with seizures after birth.
Betaquik as an Adjunct to Dietary Management of Epilepsy in Adults on the Modified Atkins Diet
EpilepsyEpilepsy Intractable4 moreThe purpose of this pilot study is to measure adherence and quality of life in adults with intractable epilepsy following the Modified Atkins Diet (MAD) with Betaquik, a ready-to-use medium chain triglyceride (MCT) emulsion, as an adjunct to the MAD.
Long-Term Safety of Pharmaceutical Grade Synthetic Cannabidiol Oral Solution in Pediatric Participants...
Childhood Absence EpilepsyThe primary purpose of this study is to assess the long-term safety and tolerability of Cannabidiol Oral Solution (CBD) in pediatric participants with treatment-resistant childhood absence seizures.
Association Between PM2.5 Exposure and Ferroptosis in Seizures Patients
Exposure to Polluted AirThis cohort study aims to discover the possible effects of PM2.5 exposures on the Nrf2- dependent ferroptosis pathway in seizure patients. This observational cohort's main question is whether PM2.5 exposures will affect the Nrf2- dependent ferroptosis pathway in seizure patients. Participants will be divided into two groups: the control group and the air pollution to detect the biomarkers of the Nrf2- dependent ferroptosis pathway in seizure patients
