Effect of BNP (Brain Natriuretic Peptides) on Endothelial Dysfunction Induced by Coronary Angioplasty...
Coronary Artery DiseasePatients receiving BNP or nitroglycerin (IV) during the angioplasty procedure. 24 h after the procedure, vascular reactivity will be re-examined using the brachial artery flow-mediated dilatation study. Blood assays for ET-1, pro-BNP, and various inflammatory markers will be checked before and 24 h after the procedure. It is our hypothesis that endothelial function will be better in the BNP treated patients compared to the NTG treated patients
Meta-analysis of Vegetarian Diets and Incident Cardiovascular Outcomes
Cardiovascular DiseasesCoronary Heart Disease2 moreVegetarian and vegan diets have been shown to reduce cardiometabolic risk factors for chronic diseases, such as cardiovascular disease and diabetes, and have been associated with decreased risk of these chronic diseases. The role of vegetarian and/or vegan dietary patterns and incident cardiovascular outcomes still remains unclear. To address these uncertainties, the investigators propose to conduct a systematic review and meta-analysis of the totality of evidence from prospective cohort studies to distinguish the association of vegetarian and/or vegan dietary patterns on the prevention and management of cardiovascular diseases. This proposed knowledge synthesis was commissioned by the Diabetes and Nutrition Study Group (DNSG) of the European Association for the Study of Diabetes (EASD) and will be used to inform clinical practice and dietary guidelines, help improve health outcomes, and guide future research design.
Vascular Responses After Percutaneous Coronary Intervention With Stenting In Patients With Obstructive...
Coronary Artery DiseaseObstructive Sleep Apnea of AdultObstructive sleep apnea (OSA) is an increasingly common chronic disorder in adults. Compared to the general population, OSA occurs more often in patients with coronary artery disease (CAD), with a reported prevalence of 38% to 65%. Emerging evidence indicates OSA initiates and exacerbates coronary atherosclerosis. Moreover, several observational studies indicate the presence of OSA was associated with higher rate of restenosis and repeat revascularization (mainly attributed non-culprit lesion revascularization) after percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). OSA might initiate endothelial injury by repetitive bursts of sympathetic activity that occur with apneas and hypopneas. Moreover, untreated OSA reduces endothelial repair capacity. Whether OSA could exacerbate neointimal proliferation and plaque progression in the non-culprit lesion after drug-eluting stent (DES) implantation remains less studied. The investigators aimed to evaluate neointimal proliferation and strut coverage within stent segment as well as changes of plaque volume and morphology in the non-culprit lesion by optical coherence tomography (OCT) in patients with versus without OSA at 12-month follow-up.
BioFreedom French Registry
Coronary Artery DiseaseProspective, observational multi-center registry to be conducted at up to 25 French interventional cardiology centers. Patients will be eligible once they have received at least one BioFreedomTM DCS as per standard clinical practice and will be followed for up to 2 years post PCI for data collection. The purpose of the registry is to explore the safety and effectiveness of the BioFreedomTM DCS in standard clinical practice in France and to serve as part of Post Market Surveillance.
Maintenance Of aNtiplatElet Therapy in Patients With Coronary Stenting Undergoing Surgery
Coronary DiseaseThe MONET registry will include any patient with previous coronary stenting undergoing any type of surgery or operative endoscopic/endovascular procedure. The effects of the application of the Consensus Document "Stent and Surgery-2" on perioperative antiplatelet therapy will be assessed. The study will also assess ischemic and hemorrhagic events in relation to the application of the Consensus Document and length of any antiplatelet discontinuation and delay in performing surgical procedures.
Danish Study of Non-Invasive Diagnostic Testing in Coronary Artery Disease 3
Angina PectorisAtherosclerosis2 moreIn a cohort of symptomatic patients referred to coronary computed tomography angiography (CCTA), the investigators aim is: To investigate and compare the diagnostic precision of Rubidium Positron Emission Tomography (Rb PET) and 15O-water PET (15O-water PET) in patients where CCTA does not exclude obstructive coronary artery disease (CAD) using invasive coronary angiography with fractional flow reserve (ICA-FFR) as reference standard. To study the diagnostic accuracy and prognostic value of computed tomography fractional flow reserve (CT-FFR) in patients where CCTA does not exclude obstructive CAD with ICA-FFR as reference standard. To validated a pre-test probability model including genetic and circulating biomarkers. To identify and characterize genetic risk variants and circulating biomarkers importance in developing CAD. To evaluate the bone mineral density in the hip and spine and correlate this to the degree of vascular calcification.
Syndrome Differentiation in the Management of Chronic Stable Coronary Artery Disease (SCAD) to Improve...
Chronic Stable Coronary Artery Disease1.1 To build a TCM diagnosis and treatment database for chronic stable CAD; 1.2 To summarize the pattern of TCM medicine used and the effect of the medication in chronic stable CAD. 1.3 To formulate a syndrome differentiation determined medicine plan based on the improvement in the quality of life on chronic stable CAD patients.
Study to Evaluate the Association of Testosterone Levels With Coronary Artery Calcification
Coronary Artery DiseaseCoronary artery calcification (CAC) is a pandemic condition in elderly patients with coronary artery disease (CAD) and associated with worse prognosis. Although available data shows association between testosterone levels in men and CAD, the association between testosterone and CAC in old-aged male patients with CAD remains unknown. In this study, the relationship of serum testosterone levels with CAC score in elderly male patients with CAD was evaluated.
A Registry Study of Shuxuening Injection Used in Hospitals in China
Coronary DiseaseIntracranial Embolism3 moreThe purpose of this study is get to know what and how Shuxuening injection in hospital results in adverse events or adverse drug reactions from a cohort event monitoring.
Self-apposing Stentys Stents Registry
Coronary Artery DiseaseSelf-apposing, drug-eluting Stentys coronary stents represent a valuable tool for the treatment of coronary artery stenosis. Their ability to adapt to widely varying vessel calibers and to auto-expand after their release to self-appose to vessel walls is particularly useful in the presence of ectasic coronary arteries or significant vessel tapering. The investigators planned this study to assess the feasibility, the effectiveness and the safety of the implantation of self-apposing, drug-eluting Stentys stents for percutaneous coronary intervention. Consecutive patients undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention with implantation of a self-apposing Stentys stent were enrolled in this multi center registry. Inclusion criteria were age ≥ 18 years and ability to provide informed consent. No exclusion criteria were defined. Primary end-point of the study is the occurrence of MACE (death, myocardial infarction, stent thrombosis, unplanned hospitalization for unstable angina, target lesion revascularization). Secondary end-points include individual components of MACE, procedural complications (periprocedural MI, bleedings, access site complication, failure to cross stent struts with guidewire in the treatment of bifurcation, failure to delivery the stent, contrast-induced nephropathy), bleedings at follow up.
