Clinical, Physiological and Prognostic Implication of Microvascular Status

Coronary Artery Disease

There are several physiologic parameters in evaluating cardiovascular disease. This study will reveal which parameter is the most proper value in predicting disease severity and risk factors of patients.

Cardiovascular Epidemiology in Russian Federation

HypertensionCoronary Artery Disease4 more

The study addresses epidemiology of cardiovascular risk factors and major cardiovascular diseases in Russian Federation (urban and rural population). 12 regions of 1600 participants in each will be included.

The Lolland-Falster Health Study

Impaired HealthDisease13 more

The study is a epidemiological, cross-sectional study in a mainly rural area of Denmark in Denmark. Life expectancy is shorter, morbidity is higher, and social problems more prevalent than in the urban areas of the country. The population study aims at examining complexities of environmental, hereditary, lifestyle, and social factors as determinants and predisposing factors for morbidity, health, and quality of life. The study will cover physical, mental, and social dimensions and examine family patterns and subgroups. The study will provide baseline information for later follow-up.

Prevalence of Chronic Kidney Disease and Its Association With Clinical Outcome in Patients With...

Coronary Heart DiseaseChronic Kidney Disease

This is a prospective, multi-center, hospital-based observational study. The aim of the study is to evaluate the prevalence of chronic kidney disease in patients with stable coronar heart disease.

Prospective Evaluation of Prognosis of Pci Patients Using Network Data in SHengjing Hospital

Coronary Heart Disease

Coronary heart disease (CHD) has a serious health threaten to population. PCI is a well-proved measure in CHD management. However, the knowledge about the real-life PCI use and how evidence-based therapies in routine clinical practice is limited. By consecutively recruiting PCI patients in a large-scale hospital in in Northeast China, this study will examine various real-life factors, that may affect patients recovery after the procedure. Practical guidelines, appropriateness criteria and quality evaluative system for PCI will be established based on the findings, to improve patients outcomes in future finally.

PET/CT for the Quantification of Atherosclerotic Plaque Inflammation

Coronary Artery DiseaseAcute Coronary Syndrome

This is a single-centre prospective trial with 140 patients employing [18F]-fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission computed tomography (FDG PET/CT) and advance motion correction and image fusion algorithms to create motion frozen displays and quantify FDG-uptake and thus inflammatory activity in atherosclerotic plaques in the coronary tree. Four groups of patients, two with stable coronary artery disease and two with acute coronary syndrome will be compared and the results of FDG PET/CT will be correlated to results of invasive coronary angiography, intravascular ultrasound / virtual histology, patient risk profile and serum markers of inflammation. The investigators hypothesize that increased FDG accumulation in atherosclerotic plaques shows a positive correlation with inflammatory activity in coronary plaques and markers of plaque vulnerability as well as the risk profile of the patients and serum markers of inflammation. The investigators furthermore hypothesize that FDG PET/CT is able to detect high risk patients and provide an important means for risk stratification and optimization of patient management.

Innovation Research of Differentiation and Treatment Methods Based on CHD Phlegm and Blood Stasis...

Coronary Heart Disease

Coronary heart disease is still the major cause of death in China. Chinese medicine plays more and more important role in CHD prevention and treatment. Phlegm and blood stasis are its major pathological basis. Based on that, the investigator aims to evaluate the evolutionary process of CHD phlegm-blood stasis syndrome by large samples, multi-centre, cross-section observation combining with longitudinal tracking on-site survey method so as to guide the clinical treatment of CHD.

Circulating microRNAs and Adverse Cardiovascular Outcomes in Patients With Coronary Artery Disease...

miRNA

Coronary artery disease (CAD) resulting from atherosclerotic obstruction of epicardial coronary arteries accounts for more than one-third of deaths in subjects over the age of 35 worldwide. The global incidence of CAD is on the rise owing to the international epidemic of obesity, type 2 diabetes and aging, all of which are potent risk factors for coronary atherosclerosis. Participants with CAD are at high risk for subsequent adverse cardiovascular (CV) events and death; it has been estimated that one out of every five CAD patients will experience at least one adverse CV event during a 5-year follow up period. There is, however, no reliable diagnostic tool to predict the risk of adverse CV events or death in participanrs with CAD. Increasing evidence suggests that miRNAs are stably present in serum, plasma, urine, saliva and other body fluids and are considered a novel class of non-invasive biomarkers for various diseases including cancer, neurodegenerative and cardiovascular diseases

Mitochondrial Bioenergetics and Role in Cellular Damage in Ischemic Myocardium

Coronary Artery DiseaseDiabetes Mellitus1 more

Cardiac ischemia is a common pathological condition, known to elicit multiple pathological processes at the cellular level. One of the most affected is thought to be cellular metabolism, key for the adequate cardiac function. The aim is to study mitochondrial bioenergetic function, interaction with other cellular systems and influence of several co-morbidities in myocardium of the affected patients.

Clinical Observation of Coronary Arterial Microcirculation Dysfunction in Diabetic Patients With...

Complications of Diabetes MellitusCoronary Artery Disease

The purpose of this study is to investigate the prevalence and degree of coronary arterial microcirculaiton dysfunction of non- obstructive coronary artery disease in patients with type 2 diabetes. Furthermore, the risk factors of coronary arterial microcirulation would be screened and identified.
