CTRP3 and Progranulin in Patients With Coronary Artery Disease

Coronary Artery Disease

Visceral obesity is the one of the major causes of cardiovascular morbidity and mortality in industrialized countries. Adipose tissue secretes various kinds of bioactive molecules termed adipokines which contribute to the development of obesity-related disorders including cardiovascular disease (CVD). Progranulin and CTRP3 are recently discovered novel adipokines. Therefore, the investigators tried to compare circulating CTRP-3 and progranulin levels in patients with CAD and investigated whether CTRP-3 or progranulin is significantly associated with CAD prevalence after adjustment for well-known CAD risk factors.

Application for Self-Monitoring of Cardiovascular Risk

Coronary Disease

Patients who recently suffered a heart attack will use a smart-phone/computer application during cardiac rehabilitation to reduce their risk of a future attack, their re-hospitalizations, their cost of care, and increase their quality of life.

BFPET for Regional Myocardial Perfusion Imaging

Coronary Artery Disease

BFPET will be evaluated as a diagnostic PET agent for assessing myocardial perfusion in subjects with known or suspected coronary artery disease (CAD) as compared to standard nuclear myocardial perfusion imaging (MPI). The safety of BFPET will be evaluated in known or suspected CAD subjects.

Hormones and Sexual Function Predict Outcomes in Revascularized Men With Diabetes

Androgen DeficiencyAD5 more

The purpose of this study is to find out if androgen deficiency (low levels of testosterone, a male hormone produced by the sex glands) and erectile dysfunction (sexual dysfunction) will predict over time the development of a heart attack, stroke, or death in men with Diabetes Mellitus who have angiographically proven coronary artery disease (CAD) (≥50%) with or without percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). A substudy aims to show the different factors and processes that may show a relationship between sexual function and levels of androgen in the body to heart disease.

Lipoprotein Subfractions and Coronary Heart Disease During 25 Year Follow-up

Cardiovascular DiseasesHeart Diseases1 more

To determine the relationship of fatal and nonfatal coronary heart disease to lipoprotein fractions and other risk factors in a prospective epidemiologic study conducted between 1954 and 1957.

Genetic Epidemiology of Coronary Heart Disease Risk in Women Twins

Cardiovascular DiseasesCoronary Disease1 more

To examine genetic and environmental influences on several recently identified coronary heart disease risk factors in identical and fraternal adult women twins. The risk factors included low density lipoprotein (LDL) subclass patterns, plasma apolipoprotein levels, body fat distribution, and serum insulin levels.

Nutritional Determinants of Cardiovascular Disease

AtherosclerosisCardiovascular Diseases2 more

To define the role of nutritional and dietary variables in determining atherogenic traits and morbidity and mortality due to coronary heart disease as observed in the Framingham Heart Study cohort and the Framingham Offspring Study cohort.
