Physiological Studies in Post-COVID-19 Syndrome, and the Association With DNA Methylation

Covid19Cardiopulmonary Disease3 more

The physiological derangements in subjects suffering from long-term symptoms following a Covid-19 infection (Post-COVID-19 Syndrome) are poorly understood and evaluated. This study will recruit subjects with a clinical diagnosis of Post-Covid-19-syndrome) who are scheduled for either of lung function testing, cardiopulmonary exercise testing or cardiac ultrasound. Patients' symptoms will be correlated to physiological measures and compared to predicted values. In addition, in 20 patients, symptoms and physiological measures will be correlated to epigenetical alterations, or DNA-methylation patterns. In addition, a subset of patients will be examined a year after the baseline testing in order to follow the progress of the disease.

PAtterns and Extension in COVID-19 Related Interstitial Pneumonia: CT Analysis

Covid19

The hallmark of the L phenotype is the vasoplegia, as confirmed by the rapid change in density and distribution of CT findings from the supine to the prone position. The benefit of a prone position in awake, nonintubated, spontaneously breathing Covid-19 patients has been emerging as potential tool to improve oxygenation and to prevent the access to ICU. No evidence of radiological modifications related to Aim of our study is to evaluate CT changes in terms of extension, distribution and prevalence of findings, in the supine compared with the prone position.

Clinical Study of Pregnant Women With COVID-19

Covid-19

A new pandemic, COVID-19, has spread rapidly around the world. She does not spare pregnant women. Little is known about the clinical course of pregnant women infected with COVID-19. As of April 1, 2020, six case series and one case report for a total of 61 pregnancies affected by COVID-19, all from the pandemic epicenter in China, except for one state case report -Unis, have been published. These preliminary reports suggest that pregnant women are not more seriously affected than the general population and show a certain gap with what we have observed in the care of pregnant women at HUS. For these reasons, additional information, especially from parts of the world other than China, as the severity of the disease can vary from country to country, is urgently needed to determine whether pregnant women with the disease of COVID-19 will not present with severe pneumonia to COVID-19.
