Outcomes and Prognostic Factors in COVID-19

COVID-19Elderly Patients3 more

The primary aim is to study the short-term outcome of elderly ICU patients (≥ 70 years) suffering from COVID-19 using a multicenter and multi-national approach. The secondary aim is to investigate the properties of a simple frailty scale in this cohort, and in particular if this is an instrument that can be used for outcome prediction in this group. In addition, various other parameters of potential relevance for older critically ill patients will be studied.

French Single Centre Experience of Critically Ill Patients With Covid 19

EpidemiologySars-CoV24 more

Since the outbreak of a syndrome of acute respiratory distress associated to a novel coronavirus 2 (SARS-Cov2) that began in China, Europe and France have to face a sanitary emergency with critically care support when the patient evolves to an acute respiratory distress (ARDS). In the context of supply shortages (ventilators, bed capacities) that countries have to deal with, data were lacking of characteristics and outcomes of patients admitted to intensive care unit (ICU). the purpose of this project is to report the epidemiology and the outcomes of a French cohort of critically ill patients with SARS-Cov2

COVID-19 and the Developement of Phobic Fears of Disease

COVID19

A lot of people suffer from phobias. Phobias concerning certain diseases are not rare. This study will examine whether the COVID-19 (Coronavirus Disease) crisis was able to rise phobias in people and if those with preexisting phobias or fears were more likely to develop a phobia concerning COVID. It will look at different subtypes - physicians, medical staff, general public (not medically affiliated) and patients with psychiatric disorders.

Clinical and Biological Predictors of COVID-19 Disease in Older Patients

COVID-19

The project is an observational, prospective study. Its aim is to deepen our understanding of COVID-19 in older patients hospitalized and diagnosed with COVID-19. In particular, socioeconomic, diagnostic, biological, functional, therapy data will be collected at the patients' admission, during hospital stay, at the discharge and 1, 3, 6, 12 months after discharge. Results and findings will help support changes in clinical practice and decision making, with the aim to reduce the use of healthcare services and the healthcare expenditure.

Thrombo Embolic Events in Hospitalized Patients With Covid-19 Serious Acute Pneumopathy

COVID-19Hemostasis1 more

The understanding of haemostasis and inflammation cross-talk has gained considerable knowledge during the past decade in the field of arterial and venous thrombosis. Complex and delicately balanced interaction between coagulation and inflammation involve all cellular and humoral components. Elements of the coagulation system such as activated thrombin, fibrinogen or factor Xa may increase inflammation by promoting the production of proinflammatory cytokines, chemokines, growth factors and adhesion molecules that lead to a procoagulant state amplifying the pathological process. Recent evidence supports inflammation as a common pathogenic contributor to both arterial and venous thrombosis, giving rise to the concept of inflammation induced thrombosis. Patients with infection of COVID-19 and severe pneumoniae seem to have higher risk of thromboembolism. The purpose of this project is to analyze hemostasis and coagulation of every hospitalized patient with infection of COVID-19. Blood sample for coagulation and hemostasis analysis will be collected on every patient hospitalized in Amiens hospital for COVID-19 infection. Thrombin time, factors V and II, fibrin/fibrinogen degradation products, antithrombin will be assessed every week. Anticardiolipin, anti-beta2 glycoprotein I and anti-annexin A2 antibodies IgG and IgM at day of admission and at fourth week after admission will be assessed. SARS-CoV2 viral load and serodiagnosis will be performed at the same time. At the same time venous ultrasound to diagnose thrombosis will be performed.

Markers of Neurological Damage Post Covid-19 in PLWH

COVID-19Hiv

Both HIV infection and Covid-19 are associated to cognitive and psychiatric impairment, like anxiety and depression. These disturbs are well-known in HIV infection and partially characterized in Covid-19.
