The Effect of the Covid-19 Pandemic Among Operated Patients

Covid19Surgery

This project covers several research aims. In a cohort study, the investigators aim to compare confirmed COVID-19 patients with non-COVID-19 patients who undergo surgical treatment and study factors associated with good or bad outcomes.

An Online-platform to Improve Patient-centered Care During the COVID-19 Pandemic: a GIMEMA Surveillance...

Hematologic Malignancies

This is a national multicenter prospective observational study led by the GIMEMA. The GIMEMA-ALLIANCE Platform is also an online monitoring system for patients with hematologic malignancies aiming at helping hematologists in the early recognition and timely management of problems of their patients. Based on patient's rating of specific items (i.e. on the presence of clinically relevant problems or problems with adherence to therapy or risk of SARS-CoV-2 infection), the Platform will automatically send alerts to the treating hematologist (and/or appointed members of the local Team). Physicians will be free to make any action they feel appropriate for the best care of their patients.

MAVIPAN: My Life and the COVID-19 Pandemic

Psychosocial Impacts of the COVID-19 Pandemic

The health crisis imposed by COVID-19 is forcing major worldwide social reorganization that will have profound consequences on our society. Currently, one-third of the world's population (~3 billion individuals) is living under some kind of isolation or quarantine measures, causing an unprecedented and rapidly evolving psychosocial crisis. The psychosocial consequences of this health crisis will persist long after restriction measures are lifted and the pandemic is over. This impact will be significant for individuals facing unique contexts or challenges (e.g., older adults, individuals living with a disability, underprivileged families) and will most likely exacerbate existing social and gender inequalities in health and human development. There is an urgent need for information on the evolution of the psychosocial dimensions of health and coping strategies used by our population and our health and social services structures. Thus, this study is designed to accelerate the availability of high-quality, real-time evidence within health and social services structures to address, support and minimize psychosocial consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic. Through constantly evolving research questions responsive to the course of the pandemic evolution, the rapid system transformations and adaptation of services, and knowledge users (KUs) needs, MAVIPAN aims to address, document, monitor, and evaluate the following: Individuals and families' adjustments and mitigation strategies, especially for those considered vulnerable and in high-risk contexts. Healthcare and social services workers and managers' adjustments and mitigation strategies. The organization of service structures. The social and economic response. To achieve these objectives, we use a mixed methods study design that combines quantitative questionnaires and qualitative interviews to deepen our understanding of elements such as the coping strategies used during the pandemic. A first measure was taken during lock-down as well as a follow-up at 3 months. Another follow-up will be made at 7 months. At least one per year follow-up will be made over the course of the study (5 years). Additional measures may be taken depending on the evolution of the pandemic and the sanitary measures put in place by the authorities.

Influence of the COVId-19 Pandemic on STRESS of Occupational Health Workers

Occupational Health

Coronavirus has caused containment of more than half of the world's population and a major and rapid reorganization of clinical and support services. The spread of coronavirus (COVID-19) has posed significant challenges for occupational health services. However, there is currently no data on the influence of this epidemic on the practice and feelings of dental surgeons and associates

Lung Function, Exercise Capacity, and Serology Responses in Patients With COVID-19

Lung FunctionExercise Capacity2 more

(a) Objectives To assess the full lung function, exercise capacity, quality of life in patients with COVID-19 over 2 years. To assess the longevity of the serology response to SARS-CoV2. To investigate the association of the neutralization titer in plasma from different vaccinated cohorts to its protection of infection using in vivo model To investigate the SARS-CoV-2 specific cellular and humoral immunities as well as their determinant factors from community subjects who have received different types of COVID-19 vaccines. To assess the third booster dose for subjects who have poor antibody response despite having received two doses of CoronaVac (Sinovac)

COVID-19 And Lingering Symptoms In Primary Care Patients

Covid19Symptoms and Signs

The ongoing corona virus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is a viral acute respiratory tract infection caused by server acute respiratory syndrom coronavirus typ 2 (SARS-CoV-2). The signs and symptom of SARS-CoV-2 infection vary and most people with COVID-19 experience illness of mild or moderate severity and recover with symptomatic treatment outside of hospital. Studies have found that some people experience lingering/long-lasting symptoms and only a minority of patients were completely free from COVID-19 related symptoms after two months. About one third still had up to two residual symptoms and 55% had three or more. As far as we know no study on lingering symptoms has been published in patients after a mild or moderate infection managed in primary care settings. The aim of this study is to explore the course of disease over a one year period and describe lingering symptoms and their impact on well-being and daily activities in adult non-hospitalized patients with previous established COVID-19 infection.

Oral and Olfactory Complications of Recovered COVID-19 Patients

Oral ComplicationDysgeusia1 more

This cohort study aims to investigate the long-standing chemosensory disorders and oral manifestation after recovery of the COVID-19 illness. A correlation between the long-standing symptoms and the COVID-19 severity grade will be very important to understand and clarify the aetiology of these symptoms.

COVID-19: Early Detection of Worsening by Voice and Respiratory Pattern Characteristics

Sars-CoV-2 InfectionCOVID-19

In some clinical forms of COVID-19, an uncontrolled hyper-inflammatory reaction known as a "cytokine storm" appears abruptly, around day 7, and is associated with rapid respiratory deterioration, requiring hospitalization in an intensive care unit (ICU). At present, although risk factors for this severe form have been described, there are no validated criteria for determining which individual patients will develop this aggravation. The study of respiratory sounds (amplitude, frequency, ...) has made it possible in other respiratory pathologies (e.g., chronic obstructive pulmonary disease) to predict exacerbations several days in advance. Having a predictive respiratory pattern for worsening in COVID-19 would make it possible to anticipate the need for intensive care hospital beds, by means of a tool easily available on a mobile phone.
