ACTIV-6: COVID-19 Study of Repurposed Medications - Arm C (Fluticasone)

Covid19

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of repurposed medications (study drug(s) in reducing symptoms of non-hospitalized participants with mild to moderate COVID-19. Participants will receive either study drug or placebo. They will self-report any new or worsening symptoms or medical events they may experience while taking study drug or placebo. This study is intended to be all remote with no in person visits, unless the study team feels it is in the best interest of a participant to see them in person. Prior and current drug arms are listed on clinicaltrials.gov and will be updated with the activation of any new drug arms. This protocol was originally registered under NCT04885530. Per recent guidance on reporting master protocol research programs (MPRPs), a separate record for Arm C was created.

A Study on Paxlovid Once in the Market, to Observe Its Safety and Effectiveness in Patients Who...

COVID-19

The purpose of this study is to look at the safety and effectiveness of PAXLOVID in the real world and not in clinical studies. The study observes patients who have a high chance of getting severe COVID-19 in Korea. This study is seeking participants who are: Patients with mild-to-moderate COVID-19 symptoms and at high chance of getting severe COVID-19, including hospitalization or death. Patients who received, are currently receiving, or are going to receive PAXLOVID according to locally approved label. Patients who have signed informed consent documents after understanding all the important parts of the study. All participants are treated according to routine medical practice and there are no scheduled visits required by this study. All participants will be studied for a follow-up period of 28 days from the last PAXLOVID treatment to understand the safety and the effectiveness of treatment.

A Real-world Evidence Study of BNT162b2 mRNA Covid-19 Vaccine Among Children in Brazil

COVID-19

The present test-negative design study aims to estimate the real-world effectiveness of Pfizer-BioNTech BNT162b2 mRNA vaccine on symptomatic SARS-CoV-2 infection and its consequences among children aged 5 to 11 years in the city of Toledo in Southern Brazil. Individuals aged 5 to 11 years who seek the public healthcare system with symptoms suggestive COVID-19 will be enrolled. Participants with a positive reverse transcriptase polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) test for SARS-CoV-2 will be classified as cases, and those with negative RT-PCR test for SARS-CoV-2 will be classified as controls. Cases will be followed-up for a period of 3 months by means of structured telephone interviews.

Real World Evaluation of the Effectiveness of AZD7442 for Prevention of SARS-CoV-2

SARS-CoV-2 Infection

If a treated cancer patient cannot make antibodies to a Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) or approved vaccine, their risk for infection and its sequelae are significantly increased. The Astra-Zeneca Immuno-Suppressed Program (AISP) is designed to address whether a patient treated for cancer who receives a single-dose of Evusheld (AZD7442) 600 mg IM or IV will maintain a stable/protective effect against symptomatic SARS-CoV-2 infection including SARS-CoV-2 related hospitalization and/or SARS-CoV-2 related death up to 12 months post-baseline. The program will focus on patients with cancer who have been treated with chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapy, other therapy or combination therapy with or without radiation therapy within 12 months prior to enrollment, are willing/able to receive one IM or IV injection of Evusheld, are able to complete 14 Patient Experience/Clinical Outcome Assessment (COA) surveys, 6 Quality of Life (QoL) assessments and are willing to allow serum concentrations of Evusheld to be drawn 9 times, 3 SARS-CoV-2 Receptor Binding Domain-Immunoglobulin G (RBD-IgG) tests, and T-cell assay to be drawn once. In the event of a symptomatic break-thru SARS-CoV-2 positive infection by SARS-COV-2 Ribonucleic Acid (RNA) by Reverse Transcription Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) test, the patient will have an additional Evusheld serum concentration, SARS-CoV-2 RBD-IgG antibody level and T-cell assay obtained in a temporally related manner. The program requires treatment with Evusheld 600 mg IM or IV.

Reducing Parental Stress Via Instant Messaging During COVID-19 Pandemic: A Randomized Controlled...

ParentsParenting1 more

This research investigated the effects of mindfulness practice on mental wellbeing and parenting behaviour, with the instruction recordings delivered via existing instant messaging applications, including Whatsapp and Signal. The two-week mindfulness program targeted parents with children in Nursery, Kindergarten to Primary School. Due to the suspension of schools, work from home policies, parents spend increased amount of time with their children. News reports have indicated that with the mounting care taking responsibilities and downturn of economy amidst the epidemic, parents have been experiencing higher stress that may negatively impact their wellbeing and parent-child relationship. This study delivered an app-based intervention that aims at enhancing mindful parenting at the time of corona, where social distancing is emphasized.

Effect of Kunamin in SARS-CoV-2 RT-PCR Positive Covid-19 Patients

COVID-19 Respiratory InfectionFLU3 more

The primary objective of this study is to determine the safety and efficacy profile of the food supplement (KUNAMIN®) containing grape juice, seed, stem, and bark given to patients treated with the established treatment regimen against novel coronavirus infectious disease (COVID-19) via comparing Kunamin® group versus control group in a clinical trial. In this study, both the therapeutic effect and the safety of the Kunamin® product has been evaluated. The study has been conducted on COVID-19 infected patients. Within the scope of the study, Covid-19 patients consisting of male and female patients are examined to evaluate the therapeutic effect. COVID-19 infected patients are divided into 2 groups and the treatment group received grape food supplements for 15 days in addition to their standard treatment. The other group received only standard therapy. The effects of supplements containing grape products on the COVID-19 infection process of patients are investigated, as indicated in the primary, secondary, and tertiary endpoints. For this purpose, both the observation of routine examination findings and the effectiveness of food supplements on viral load and antibody levels are investigated. In the follow-up that continues for 30 days, COVID-19 Rapid Antigen test made in USA approved by FDA is used to monitor the efficacy of Kunamin® as patient treated by Kunamin® viral load is diminished either after 5 days, 10 days or 15 days, COVID-19 Rapid Antibody test made in USA approved by FDA has been used to monitor the development of IgM and IgG antibodies on day 0, day 5th, day 10th, day 15th and day 30th in addition to PCR test of Perkinelmer by Kayseri hospital. In conjunction, the sponsor used AIT Laboratories A HealthTrackRx Company PCR test CLIA and FDA approved for not only COVID-19 but also 27 kinds of cold and flu viruses and 90 different kinds of bacteria. The number of patients planned for randomization was 240, however due to dropouts the hospital was able to screen 132 patients. Out of 132 patients we were able to enroll randomized total of 71 patients, 47 patients in the research arm and 24 in the control arm.
