Covid19Immunodeficiency

The first version of this preprint article is registered on the 4th of May 2020 under the digital object identifier of:10.31219/osf.io/u56fc. COVID-19 infections virus spread worldwide and impact many countries with sever economical sequences. The effective antiviral medication or vaccination for the virus is unavailable until the present date and it takes months or years to discover the effective treatment or test the efficacy of the discovered treatment. Based on these facts, the human immune system against the virus may have an effective role to regulate the infection and reduce the mortality rate among the infected patients. This proposed research article aims to explore the available medication/ natural supplementation to boost the immunity system of the patients against COVID-19 infections and reduce the mortality rate among infected patients. Methods: a proposed clinical trial will be carried out to investigate the effect of the different treatment modalities on the human immune system against COVID-19 infection.

Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) Antibody Plasma Research Study in Hospitalized Patients

COVID-19

The purpose of this research study is to find out if CCP is safe and to determine the safest and most effective level of anti-viral antibody when given to people admitted to the hospital with confirmed COVID-19 infection. Participants enrolled on this study will be transfused with 2 units of CCP through an IV. These units will be given one at a time 4 to 24 hours apart. Participants will be randomized to receive either 2 units with standard antibody levels as recommended by the FDA or 2 units with an antibody level higher than that recommended by the FDA. This study is experimental and CCP is investigational and has not been approved by the FDA for the treatment of COVID-19. The CCP is collected per FDA guidelines from persons recovered from COVID-19 infection. The plasma contains antibodies and possibly other properties that inhibit the virus. The investigators do not know if the level of antibodies present in the CCP will make a difference in how the participant's body is able to fight the infection and hope to learn that in this study.

Determination of the Hemoadsorption Impact as Adjunctive Treatment Upon the Support Therapy of COVID-19...

Covid19

A) Comparing the % of change in each clearances of pro-, and anti-inflammatory mediators (cytokine, chemokines and complement) in the COVID-19 patients treated with CytoSorb as compared to the same patient population who do not receive blood purification treatment. B) Testing the Cytokinetic model by measuring cytokines in the blood stream and in the BAL to see if you can create a reverse gradient allowing a massive passage of leucocyte from the blood toward the infected lungs.

SARS-CoV-2 Antibodies Based IVIG Therapy for COVID-19 Patients

COVID-19

Severe and critically ill patients will be enrolled in the study (50 patients) after duly filled consent forms. Recipients shall be divided in to 5 groups with 10 patients per group to compare clinical efficacy and safety of patients in clinical phase I/phase II study. Each group shall receive particular single dose of Intravenously administered Immunoglobulins (IVIG) developed from convalescent plasma of recovered COVID-19 individual , an experimental drug along with standard treatment except for control group which will receive standard treatment only.

AZD7442 - a Potential Combination Therapy for the Prevention and Treatment of COVID-19

COVID-19

In this first-in-humans dose escalation study, AZD7442 (AZD8895 + AZD1061) will be evaluated for safety, tolerability, pharmacokinetics, and generation of anti-drug antibodies (ADAs). The study is intended to enable future studies of AZD7442's efficacy in preventing and treating COVID-19.

FREEDOM COVID-19 Anticoagulation Strategy

COVID-19SARS-CoV-2

Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19), caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus-2 (SARS-CoV-2), has led to unprecedented morbidity and mortality in the modern era. To date, nearly 13 million people have contracted COVID-19, leading to more than 550,000 deaths worldwide. As the number of affected individuals continues to climb, effective strategies for treatment and prevention of the disease are of paramount importance. SARS-CoV-2 is understood to directly invade cells via the human angiotensin-converting enzyme 2 (ACE2) receptor, which is expressed predominantly in the lungs but also throughout the cardiovascular system. Thus, while acute respiratory distress syndrome remains a feared complication, new thromboembolic disease has emerged as a common and potentially catastrophic manifestation of COVID-19.
