Probiotic and Colchicine in COVID-19
COVID-19Probiotics and or Colchicine may be considered as an option of treatment since they have anti-viral effect anti-inflammatory and immunomodulatory effect. A total of 150 participants were were randomly assigned (1:1:1) to receive either the standard treatment protocol and colchicine or the standard treatment protocol and probiotics or the standard treatment protocol alone for two weeks. Participants followed up twice weekly by telephone.

PERUCONPLASMA: Evaluating the Use of Convalescent Plasma as Management of COVID-19
COVID-19Open label controlled clinical trial to evaluate the safety and efficacy of the use of convalescent plasma in hospitalized patients with COVID-19 infection. This study will have two arms, one arm will receive convalescent plasma plus standard of care, and the other arm will receive standard of care only. Adults older than 18 years old, hospitalized with diagnosis of COVID-19 confirmed by a laboratory test (molecular or serology), with severe or life-threatening disease, will be included to the study after obtaining inform consent by the patient of a direct family member. Participants will be then randomized 1:1 to the experimental and the control groups. Participants at the experimental group will receive 1 to 2 units of ABO compatible COVID-19 convalescent plasma (200 ml to 250 ml each) within 48 hours, in addition to the standard of care. Participants at the control group will receive standard of care. Safety of convalescent plasma administration will be evaluated, as well as other indicators of clinical efficacy.
Adaptive COVID-19 Treatment Trial 3 (ACTT-3)
COVID-19ACTT-3 will evaluate the combination of interferon beta-1a and remdesivir compared to remdesivir alone. Subjects will be assessed daily while hospitalized. If the subjects are discharged from the hospital, they will have a study visit at Days 15, 22, and 29. For discharged subjects, it is preferred that the Day 15 and 29 visits are in person to obtain safety laboratory tests and oropharyngeal (OP) swab and blood (serum only) samples for secondary research as well as clinical outcome data. However, infection control or other restrictions may limit the ability of the subject to return to the clinic. In this case, these visits may be conducted by phone, and only clinical data will be obtained. The Day 22 visit does not have laboratory tests or collection of samples and is conducted by phone. The primary outcome is time to recovery by Day 29.
