The CircumVent Project: A CPAP/O2 Helmet Solution for Non-Invasive Ventilation Among Patients With...
SARS-CoV-2 Acute Respiratory DiseaseCOVID-19 Respiratory InfectionThe purpose of the CircumVent Project is to evaluate the feasibility, adaptability and acceptability of a CPAP/O2 helmet solution for non-invasive ventilation among patients with COVID-19 and health workers in eight COVID-19 treatment and isolation centers in Nigeria.
BNT162b2 Messenger Ribonucleic Acid (mRNA) Covid-19 Vaccine in Cancer Patients on Active Treatment...
NeoplasmsCancer1 moreIn this Italian observational study the antibody titer reactogenicity to Pfizer Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) - Coronavirus (CoV-2) RNA vaccine in cancer patients under active antitumor treatment will be evaluated at 21 and 42 days and after 6 months. Furthermore patients safety will be monitored. Factors affecting immunogenicity (or lack of), including cancer treatment, will be the primary aim of the study.
Immunohematology in COVID-19 Patients: A Hospital-based Retrospective Cohort Study
Covid19This is a hospital-based retrospective cohort study and the Immunohematologic characteristics of COVID-19 patients will be investigated systematically.
Parental Stress After the Covid-19 Pandemic
ParentingAnxiety2 moreThe aim of this study is to investigate the levels of parental stress 3 months after (T2) the strict physical distancing government initiated physical distancing protocols related to the COVID-19 pandemic (T1). The study also aims to investigate how predictors measured during the COVID-19 pandemic are associated with parental stress 3 months after when the majority of the protocols are lifted.
Outcomes of Elective Cancer Surgery During the COVID-19 Pandemic Crisis
COVID-19Coronavirus2 moreCovidSurg-Cancer is an international, multicentre, observational cohort study designed to evaluate the 30-day COVID-19 infection rates in elective cancer surgery during the COVID-19 pandemic. Centres can elect to include one or more cancer types in the study, in any combination, depending on local expertise and capacity. During the pilot study, investigators should enrol patients with confirmed diagnoses of: Colorectal cancer Oesophagogastric cancer As a rapid response study to the COVID-19 pandemic, included cancer types will evolve throughout the course of the CovidSurg-Cancer study period, for example, to include breast, liver, pancreatic, gynaecological, urological cancers, or sarcomas.
COVID-19 Hyperinflammation Syndrome (COV-HI): Protocol for a Rapidly Executed Cohort Study
COV-HICOVID-191 moreBased on emerging experience and trials from countries affected early by the COVID-19 (COV19) pandemic, there is evidence that a subgroup of severely affected people develop a hyperinflammatory (HI) syndrome (COV-HI). Trials are in progress of cytokine inhibition and other immune modulation to treat COV-HI. This proposal aims to use a rapidly executed cohort study to characterise the clinical phenotypes of COV-HI in patients in the UK through an established and nimble network of clinicians and scientists with broad experience of identifying and treating HI. The aim is to confirm the COV-HI clinical phenotype and using routine data to try to infer the inflexion point where COV-HI emerges. This would enable refinement of the proposed treatment algorithm and translates to routine clinical practice to improve the outlook for COV-HI.
Nutritional Habits, and Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) Outcome
Covid19Chronic Inflammation1 moreAs of May 30th more than 23,000 cases of COVID -19 cases were confirmed in Egypt with total deaths of 913. Post viral entry, intense immune response against the virus with infiltration of monocytes and macrophages into alveolar cells with decreasing number of lymphocytes in peripheral blood along with reduced lymphocytes in lymphoid organs, hypercoagulability, thrombosis and multiple organ damage, The gut microbiota and immune homeostasis seem to have a back and forth relationship. Also, gut microbiota derived signals are known to tune the immune cells for pro and anti-inflammatory responses thereby affecting the susceptibility to various diseases. Healthy gut microbiome essentially could be pivotal in maintaining an optimal immune system to prevent an array of excessive immune reactions that eventually become detrimental to lungs and vital organ systems. Numerous studies have shown that the patient's nutritional status have a significant effect on an individual's immunity and over all health status and it has been suggested that nutritional deficiencies may predispose to severe forms of COVID-19 infections. Co-existing non-communicable chronic diseases (NCDs) in COVID-19 patients have been found to delay patients recovery and worsen their prognosis, the reason may be due to aggravated inflammatory pathology found in NCDs exacerbating COVID-19 infection. The aim of the study is to evaluate the role dietary habits among COVID-19 Egyptian patients and whether type of diet (Mediterranean or Western) will affect disease outcomes
Loneliness During Strict and Lifted Social Distancing Protocols Against the COVID-19 Pandemic
Loneliness During COVID-19Description The aim of the present study is to investigate (a) changes in the levels of loneliness in the general adult population from a period of strict distancing protocols designed to impede transmission of the corona virus (T1) to a later period of lifted distancing protocols period (T2), (b) the risk and resilience factors for persistence in loneliness across these periods and (c) the associations between loneliness at T1 and changes in loneliness from T1 to T2 and changes in psychopathology symptoms from T1 to T2. An investigation of loneliness persistence in addition to its association with risk factors and the persistence of psychopathology provides a knowledge basis for employing interventions that protect the general public against increased distress and dysfunction during and after society's handling of pandemics.
Effect of Covid-19 Epidemic on Primary PCI in Patients With STEMI
STEMIThe epidemic of covid-19 has spread all over the world and has a great impact on people's health and life. It is necessary to study the treatment of STEMI patients in the real world under the influence of the epidemic, which provide effective suggestions and strategies for emergency and severe treatment.
Is Adipose Tissue a Reservoir for SARS-Cov2 Spread in Covid-19 Patients?
Covid-19 PatientsResident cells of human adipose tissue express ACE2 and DPP4, receptors for SARS-Cov2. The hypothesis is that the virus may enter and spread in fat depots.
