SARS CoV 2 InfectionPneumoniaThis randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, Phase 1b study evaluates the safety and tolerability, and effects on cytokine and acute phase reactants of SP16, an anti-inflammatory drug, in patients with pneumonia due to SARS-CoV-2 infection. The study will enroll up to 20 patients and each eligible patient will be randomized to receive either one of two doses of SP16 (6 mg or 12 mg) or placebo by subcutaneous injection.
Finding Treatments for COVID-19: A Trial of Antiviral Pharmacodynamics in Early Symptomatic COVID-19...
COVID-19The trial will develop and validate a platform for quantitative assessment of antiviral effects in low-risk patients with high viral burdens and uncomplicated COVID-19 to determine in-vivo antiviral activity. In this randomized open label, controlled, group sequential adaptive platform trial, we will assess the performance of three distinct types of intervention relative to control (no treatment): A: Newly available and repurposed potential antiviral drugs; B: Positive control: monoclonal antibodies initially but subsequently any therapeutic that is shown to accelerate the rate of viral clearance C: Novel small molecule drugs that have gone through phase 1 testing PLATCOV study is supported by the Wellcome Trust Grant ref: 223195/Z/21/Z through the COVID-19 Therapeutics Accelerator.
Acceptability/Feasibility of COVID-19 Intervention
Social IsolationEmotional DisorderThe coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic is a significant psychological stressor that threatens the onset of a mental health crisis in the US. Fear and anxiety about COVID-19 and its economic impact, as well as loneliness due to the required social isolation, are driving the mental health impacts of COVID-19; in a recent Kaiser Family Foundation poll, 45% of respondents reported that the coronavirus has had a negative impact on their mental health. This is reflected in Southeastern Ohio. In data that the investigators collected from 317 Ohio University faculty, staff, and students from late May to early June, 39% reported moderate-to-severe levels of anxiety, 41% reported moderate-to-severe levels of depression and 57% reported the COVID-19 outbreak was impacting their sense of social connection much or very much. Despite the significant community need for accessible and affordable care, there are currently no evidence-based interventions for individuals coping poorly with coronavirus-related distress. The investigators have developed a virtual group-based intervention targeting cognitive biases that amplify the experience of stress and anxiety (i.e., amplifying cognitions; Coping with Coronavirus-Related Emotion and Worry [COPING CREW]). The next step in developing this intervention in a scientifically rigorous manner is to refine the manual and procedures and conduct a pilot test of the intervention.
Outpatient Treatment With Anti-Coronavirus Immunoglobulin
COVIDSARS-CoV2 Infection1 moreThe primary objective of the Outpatient Treatment with Anti-Coronavirus Immunoglobulin (OTAC) (INSIGHT 012) trial is to compare the safety and efficacy of a single infusion of anti-COVID-19 hyperimmune intravenous immunoglobulin (hIVIG) versus placebo among adults with recently diagnosed severe acute respiratory syndrome - coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV2) infection who do not require hospitalization. The primary endpoint of this double-blind randomized trial is a five-category ordinal outcome that assesses the participant's clinical status seven days after the infusion of hIVIG or placebo. Asymptomatic and no limitations in usual activity due to COVID-19 Mild COVID-19 illness or minor limitations to usual activity Moderate COVID-19 illness and with major limitations to usual activity Severe COVID-19 or serious disease manifestation from COVID-19 Critical illness from COVID-19 or Death Two strata of participants will be identified for analysis purposes. Stratum 2 will be participants who receive direct-acting antivirals (DAAs) or other anti-SARS-CoV2 agents that are approved/available and recommended for use as part of standard of care (SOC), estimated to be about 20% of participants. Stratum 1 will be participants who do not receive this agents, estimated to be about 80% of participants.
tDCS for Post COVID-19 Fatigue
Post Covid-19 PatientsThe objective of this study is to investigate the short- and long-term effects of multiple sessions of 4 mA M1 tDCS on fatigue and brain activity in recovered COVID-19 patients using established measures of perception of fatigue, performance fatigability, and cerebral glucose uptake. Our central hypothesis is that tDCS will improve fatigue short- and long-term, and thus will improve quality of life (QOL) in recovered COVID-19 patients and that these changes will be associated with alterations in brain activity.
LUSZ Treatment Efficacy in Hospitalized COVID-19 Patients
COVID-19Hospitalized COVID-19 PatientsThis study aims first to assess the efficacy, safety, and effectiveness of the LUSZ COVID-19 therapy consisting of a comparative study of three different treatment approaches: antiviral, antiretroviral, and immunosuppressive IL-6 receptor antagonist, and second to identify high-risk factors and biomarkers associated with fatal outcomes in hospitalized COVID-19 patients. The study seeks to validate a novel predictive scoring model for disease progression and evaluate the impact of these treatments on mortality, admission to the intensive care unit (ICU), and time to recovery.

Chinese Medicine for Patients With LCOVID-19 Symptoms
Covid19COVID-19 has spread rapidly and now affects all over the world. On 11 March 2020, coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) was declared a global pandemic by the World Health Organization (WHO). Most of the infected people will develop mild to moderate illness, for example fever, cough, tiredness and joint pain etc. For some older people, and those with comorbidities like cardiovascular disease, diabetes, chronic respiratory disease, and malignancy are more likely to develop serious illness. Also long-term problems such as fatigue, breathlessness and joint pain experienced by survivors of COVID-19 after discharge from hospital. Some clinical and pharmacological studies have suggested Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) has achieved remarkable therapeutic effect for active COVID cases of different severity during SARS epidemic in 2003. Also, some studies shown that using Chinese medicine interventions together with conventional treatment is more effective than using the conventional treatment alone in treating chronic fatigue syndrome. Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) has a long history and played an important role in the prevention and treatment of several epidemic diseases. However, there is a lack of clinical study of using TCM to treat the residue symptom of COVID-19 recovered patients. COVID-19 recovered patients will be screened and randomized into TCM group or placebo group for 8 weeks and followed by a post-treatment visits at week 12.

Improvement is measured by a composite endpoint, namely, the "Score of PACS progression reversal"
