The COVID-19 pandemic has presented considerable challenges to global health services and dictates almost every aspect of medical practice and policy. The menopausal transition may have significant consequences for respiratory health as COVID 19 symptoms subsides, lung function testing should be done to assess the consequences of this virus on lung health especially in menopausal woman.

Our study aims to assess the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on the educational process of general surgery residents, through a comparative study. The responses of resident doctors at a questionnaire, in two different time periods, will be compared: pre-Covid era (December 2019) and Covid era (December 2020).

Current COVID-19 pandemic implies regular treatment adaptation by physician, according to scientific publication evolution. Older adults are particularly affected by COVID-19, with the higher severe form prevalence and the higher mortality rate. Furthermore older peoples are at high risk of complications cascade, due to the SARS-Voc-2 infection but also because of chronic diseases decompensation. If risk factors in this population have been identified, specific treatments to reduce complications or to be curative are less known. However geriatric care, thanks to its holistic approach, could reduce these complications and improve survival. Our study aims to determine if geriatric care provided in geriatric COVID-19 hospitalisation units improves survival of older people (aged 65 years and over) at one month in comparison with conventional COVID-19 hospitalisation unit during the first wave in the Montpellier University Hospital. Secondary objectives are to determine if clinical characteristics of older patients are different between conventional and geriatric COVID-19 hospitalisation units, to assess influence of clinical characteristics of older patients on their survival, and to determine wich treatment have been delivered for older people during the COVID-19 pandemic first wave in our hospital in view of bibliographic data available at this time. COVAGERT is a monocentric, descriptive, observational and retrospective study, including all older adults aged 65 years and over hospitalised in the geriatric COVID-19 and the conventional COVID-19 units of the Montpellier University Hospital during the first wave of the SARS-Cov-2 pandemic (between March 1th 2020 and September 1th 2020). Principal outcome is the survival one months after the RT-PCR positive test. Some data about treatments, medical history, socio-demographic and clinical characteristics will be collected from the medical record. Statistical analysis will be performed using univariate and multivariate regressions according to the study's objectives. Results will be useful to determine the bring of geriatric care during the current pandemic, but also to highlight the importance of multidisciplinary assessment in this complex disease and for further emergency medical challenges.

Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is a serious respiratory disease that results from infection with a newly discovered coronavirus (SARS-COV-2). Unfortunately, COVID-19 is not only a short-term infection but that patients (pts) recovering from SARS-COV2 infection complain of persisting symptoms including: fatigue, diffuse myalgia and weakness, which may lead to chronic fatigue syndrome. There is currently no evidence that nutritional supplements and/or physical exercise can assist in the recovery of pts with chronic fatigue syndrome. 1-Methylnicotinamide (1-MNA) is an endogenic substance that is produced in the liver when nicotinic acid is metabolized. 1-MNA demonstrates anti-inflammatory and anti-thrombotic properties. Therefore, we investigated whether 1-MNA supplements could improve exercise tolerance and decrease fatigue among patients recovering from SARS-COV-2.

Since the beginning of 2020, a major pandemic due to the new emerging coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) has been spreading around the world. Today, the hope to contain this pandemic lies in the development and use of vaccines directed against this virus. Different strategies aim to maximize the early impact of vaccination in a context where few doses are available. This study aims to estimate the prevalence of infected medical students with COVID-19 in the University of Jordan and to compare number of cases between students in clinical and basic years. In addition, this can provide insight into the awareness of infection control practices among students. Furthermore, to examine if hospital rotations increased risk of infection between clinical year medical students.
