Multicenter Unsustained Tachycardia Trial (MUSTT)

ArrhythmiaCardiovascular Diseases8 more

To determine the value of electrophysiologic (EP)-guided antiarrhythmic therapy in coronary heart disease patients at increased risk for sudden death. The study included a controlled clinical trial and a registry.

Coenzyme Q10 in Post-Cardiac Arrest Cerebral Resuscitation

Cardiac ArrestSudden Cardiac Arrest

Specific Aim #1: To determine if levels of CoQ10 are low post-cardiac arrest (CA). We will perform a prospective trial with the primary endpoint of describing the prevalence of low serum CoQ10 levels. Specific Aim #2: To determine if CoQ10 levels in post-CA patients can be increased with the administration of exogenous CoQ10.. We will perform a randomized control trial (RCT) of post-CA patients with the secondary endpoint of comparing CoQ10 levels among those randomized to CoQ10 supplementation vs placebo.

Antiarrhythmics Versus Implantable Defibrillators (AVID)

ArrhythmiaCardiovascular Diseases7 more

To evaluate if use of an implantable cardiac defibrillator (ICD) results in reduction in total mortality, when compared with conventional pharmacological therapy, in patients resuscitated from sudden cardiac death who are otherwise at very high risk of mortality from arrhythmic causes.

Coronary Artery Bypass Graft (CABG) Patch Trial

ArrhythmiaCardiovascular Diseases8 more

To test the hypothesis that implantable cardioverter defibrillator (ICD) therapy will improve survival in coronary heart disease patients at high risk of death, especially arrhythmic death.

ASSURE WCD Clinical Evaluation - Conversion Efficacy Study

DeathSudden1 more

A multicenter single arm open label evaluation of the ASSURE Wearable Cardioverter Defibrillator (WCD) defibrillation waveform in adult cardiac patients

Optimization of VNS in Epileptic Patients to Induce Cardioprotection

EpilepsySudden Cardiac Death

This study is a non-randomized, prospective study in patients with a diagnosis of epilepsy and previously implanted FDA approved Vagus Nerve Stimulation (VNS) devices. The goal of this clinical investigation is to evaluate the effects of adjusting vagus nerve stimulation parameters to engage cardioprotective effects.

The Effects of Enzymes and Flavonoids on Inflammation and Coagulation After Marathon

InflammationDeath10 more

The aim of the present study is to investigate changes in inflammatory status and incidence of infection after extreme aerobic physical stress (participation in a marathon). In addition, the impact of marathon running on the hemostasis and muscular state will be evaluated. Changes at the inflammatory, muscular, and rheological level will be related to ingestion of oral hydrolytic enzymes and bioflavonoids.

REASSURE AV Registry

Sudden Cardiac DeathBradycardia

Long term follow-up to monitor safety for patients implanted with a B301 ASSURE device.

Effect of Ranolazine on Arrhythmias and Microvolt T- Wave Alternans (MVTWA) Patients With LV Dysfunction...

Sudden Cardiac DeathVentricular Arrythmias

The purpose this investigation is to more thoroughly investigate the effects of ranolazine on arrhythmias and microvolt t-wave alternans in patients who have an automatic implantable cardioverter defibrillator (AICD) implanted either prophylactically to prevent sudden cardiac death, as well as in patients who may have had a clinically significant arrhythmic event prompting the insertion of the automatic implantable cardioverter defibrillator. It is anticipated this study will provide valuable new insight into the potential use of ranolazine to treat arrhythmias in higher risk patients.
