Aripiprazole in the Treatment of Patients With Psychosis Associated With Dementia of Alzheimer's...
DementiaAlzheimer TypeThe primary objective of the study is to compare the efficacy of aripiprazole with placebo in patients with psychosis associated with Alzheimer's dementia.

Cilostazol Augmentation Study in Dementia
Alzheimer's DementiaThe purpose of this study is to examine the effects of cilostazol augmentation in mild to moderate Alzheimer disease patients with subcortical white matter hyperintensities (WMHI) treated by donepezil. Dementia is the most disabling disease in the old age. The prevalence of dementia is 5-10% of the elders. AchEIs (donepezil, galantamine, rivastigmine) are used to treat mild to moderate dementia, but these drugs only relate to symptomatic improvement and the response rates are less than 30%. Cilostazol is a cyclic adenosine monophosphate phosphodiesterase 3 inhibitor (PDE3I) and used as antiplatelet agent in subcortical vascular disease (WMHI). And it upregulates phosphorylation of cyclic adenosine monophosphate-pathway response element binding protein (CREB) which plays a crucial role in memory enhancement and synaptic plasticity related to neurodegeneration prevention. The investigators will try cilostazol augmentation in dementia patients with WMHI receiving donepezil to see the addictive effects of cilostazol using cognitive tasks and PET imaging.

Apathy in Dementia Methylphenidate Trial (ADMET)
ApathyAlzheimer's DiseaseThe Apathy in Dementia Methylphenidate Trial (ADMET) is a masked, placebo-controlled trial that will examine the efficacy and safety of methylphenidate for the treatment of clinically significant apathy in patients with Alzheimer's dementia.

Cognitive Intervention For Delirium in Dementia
DeliriumDementiaThe purpose of this study is to test the effectiveness of cognitively stimulating activities for resolving delirium in people with dementia.

Efficacy and Safety of Memantine for Parkinson's Disease Dementia (PDD) and Dementia With Lewy Bodies...
Dementia Associated With Parkinson's DiseaseDementia With Lewy BodiesA 24-week placebo-controlled parallel group multicentre trial to study the safety and efficacy of memantine in patients with dementia associated with Parkinson's disease and dementia with Lewy bodies. It is hypothesized that memantine will be safe and well tolerated, and more effective than placebo.

Zolpidem CR and Hospitalized Patients With Dementia
DementiaAlzheimer Disease4 moreThe purpose of this research study is to compare the effectiveness of Zolpidem CR to that of placebo in improving sleep efficiency in people with dementia admitted to the hospital because of their symptoms. You can participate in this study if you have dementia of the Alzheimer's type or vascular dementia. This study involves placebo; a placebo is a tablet that looks exactly like Zolpidem CR, the study drug, but contains no active study drug. We will use placebos to see if the study results are due to the study drug or due to other reasons. Zolpidem CR is also called Ambien CR and is widely available by prescription. Zolpidem CR is approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for the short-term treatment of insomnia (trouble falling or staying asleep).

Cilostazol Verse Asprin for Vascular Dementia in Poststroke Patients With White Matter Lesions
Vascular DementiaStrokeThe purpose of this study is to evaluate the efficacy of PDE-3 inhibitor, cilostazol, in prevention and treatment of vascular dementia, in those with brain white matter lesions and vascular risk factors.

"Pilot Study of Armodafinil in Patients With Dementia With Lewy Bodies"
Dementia With Lewy BodiesThis research study is to examine the effects of the study medication Armodafinil in patients with dementia with Lewy bodies (DLB). DLB is associated with memory and other thinking problems, excessive daytime sleepiness, hallucinations, delusions, apathy, and reduced quality of life. One type of medication that could potentially improve daytime sleepiness, memory and thinking skills, hallucinations, delusions, apathy, and quality of life is known as a wake-promoting medication. Armodafinil is a wake-promoting medication that has been developed for treatment of patients with narcolepsy, sleep apnea, and other disorders which cause excessive daytime sleepiness. The drug used in this study is considered investigational, which means it has either not been approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for routine clinical use or for the use described in this study. However the FDA has allowed the use of this drug/device in this research study. In this study, patients with DLB will receive daily oral Armodafinil tablets, and their response to treatment will be assessed over 12 weeks. This study does not involve any placebo medication, so all patients will receive Armodafinil treatment.

Clinical Trial of Donepezil Between the Patients With Alzheimer's Disease and Mixed Dementia
Alzheimer's DiseaseDementiaTo compare the clinical efficacy of donepezil between patients with Alzheimer's disease and Mixed Dementia.

Efficacy of Early Stage Alzheimer's Support Groups
Memory LossAlzheimer's Disease1 moreThe purpose of this study is to evaluate the impact of an Early Stage Memory Loss Support Group (ESSG) and Education Seminar (ES) on quality of life, mood, social support, distress about memory loss, and interpersonal relationships of memory loss participants and their caregivers.
