Periodontal diseases and dental caries are initiated by a pathogenic biofilm, in a susceptible host, affecting the tooth periodontium and hard tissues. Its possible association with many biologic systems has been studied. In this study, researchers investigated association between oral health and female infertility, and what is the biological rationale for such relationship.

The School of Dentistry is seeking to determine whether viable microorganisms remain within tooth structure after conventional, mechanical removal of areas of tooth decay, prior to placement or replacement of tooth restorations (fillings). The long-term goal of the work is to decrease the failure rate, and therefore increase the longevity, of tooth restorations (fillings) in human patients and populations.

An epidemiological survey for prevalence description of dental morbidity (caries, gingivitis, dental trauma and fluorosis) among Israel Defense Forces (IDF) general recruits. Morbidity measures were collected from 700 recruits at their first day of military service in order to evaluate extent and burden of dental diseases among recruits. The data will enable the military dental services commanders to plan and implement dental services according to the dental needs.

To explore the prevalence of dental caries in Egyptian children aged from 6 to 9 years oldusing CAST index and DMFT index

The aim of this study is to assess the prevalence of dental caries using CAST index among a group of Egyptian children in primary dentition stage. Egyptian children aging from three to six years old attending the Outpatients' Clinic of both of Pediatric Dentistry Department, Faculty of Dentistry, Misr University for Science and Technology and the Pediatric Dentistry and Dental Public Health Department, Faculty of Dentistry, Cairo University will be examined using Caries Assessment Spectrum and Treatment

A cross- sectional observational study which will investigate whether data of past caries experience of the primary molars of 6-9 years old children can serve as an indicator for caries development in first permanent molars.as the first permanent molars is selected to represent the future caries status of the permanent dentition.

The study will include general dental practitioners or dental specialists from Police Academy Hospital and pediatric dentists from Pediatric dentistry department at Faculty of Dentistry Cairo University. A self-administered questionnaire will be given to dentists by direct interviewing and they will be allowed to complete the questionnaire in Faculty of Dentistry, Cairo University or Police Academy Hospital. The data will be based on a collection of responses to the 38 items in the questionnaire.

The aim of this study is to identify the knowledge, behavior and social representation on dental health among pregnant women. This study could improve, in the future, prevention, treatments and care for them.

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the applicability of auto-fluorescence imaging system to detect and quantify caries and dental plaque. Participants were advised to rinse their mouth with distilled water to exclude any chance of fluorescence from food debris. A well trained physicist majored in optical spectroscopy captured auto-fluorescence images of buccal aspects of two maxillary central incisors and occlusal aspects of four first molars from each patient in a dark room. Then they chewed a disclosing agent to assess the Quigley Hein plaque index modified by Turesky of each tooth. Furthermore, participants were also required to brush their teeth for 3min, then International Caries Detection and Assessment System（ICDAS）codes of relevant teeth to evaluate degrees of caries were recorded by an experienced dentist using a mouth mirror and explorer. The Spearman rank correlation coefficient between colorimetric parameters of fluorescence image and the plaque index and ICDAS code were calculated to evaluate the sensitivity and specificity of auto-fluorescence imaging system.
