A Phase 2 Trial of OPC-64005 for Major Depressive Disorder

Major Depressive Disorder

The objective of the trial is to compare the efficacy of OPC-64005 at 20 mg vs placebo and to assess the safety and pharmacokinetics of OPC-64005 at 10 and 20 mg in patients with major depressive disorder (MDD).The primary endpoint is the mean change from baseline in Montgomery-Åsberg Depression Rating Scale (MADRS) total score at Week 6 of the double-blind treatment period in the OPC-64005 20-mg group compared with the placebo group

Study of Desvenlafaxine in Treating Major Depressive Disorder.

Major Depressive Disorder

The primary purpose of this study is to evaluate if the effectiveness of desvenlafaxine succinate sustained-release tablet (50 mg/day) used for 8 weeks is not inferior to duloxetine hydrochloride enteric-coated capsule (60 mg/day) in adult patients with major depressive disorder.

Nitrous Oxide for Major Depressive Disorder

Depressive DisorderMajor Depressive Disorder4 more

This study aims at investigating the persistence of antidepressant effect of Nitrous Oxide (N2O) for Treatment-Resistant Depression(TRD). The investigators also aim to assess the effect of N2O on the electroencephalograph, multimodal magnetic resonance imaging(MRI), blood cytokines, feces bacteria flora and neuropsychological performance in patients with TRD. The investigators further aim to identify the predictors of N2O's antidepressant effeect using the above techniques.

Transcranial Direct Current Stimulation Therapy for Major Depression

Major Depressive Disorder

Depression is a prevalent and debilitating disorder. The most common treatments are antidepressant medications and talking therapies. However, for many individuals, these are not their treatment of choice. Furthermore, even following a full course of treatment with an antidepressant or talking therapy, over one third of patients continue to be unwell. The novel brain stimulation treatment, transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS), is a potential first-line treatment for major depression. The present research question is whether tDCS can be provided as a home-based treatment for major depression for adults with major depression.

Behavioral Activation for Major Depression With and Without Mindfulness

Major Depressive Disorder

The objective of the study is to compare, in individuals who meet the diagnostic criteria for major depression, the effects of Behavioral Activation (BA) strictly behavioral with a BA protocol that includes mindfulness practices. The secondary objectives are: a) to verify if the changes in the level of depressive symptoms found after the treatment will be kept during the follow-up in both groups; b) evaluate the possible moderating role of baseline depression levels on the effectiveness of interventions; c) evaluate relapse rates after treatment; and d) test a BA protocol as a single treatment. The primary hypothesis is that BA protocol with mindfulness practices is superior to BA without mindfulness practices.
