The Association of Sleep and Psychological Symptoms With Prognosis of MSK Pain in Danish General...

Musculoskeletal PainInsomnia2 more

Musculoskeletal (MSK) pain is a major public health concern. Approximately one in four consult their general practitioner (GP) with a musculoskeletal problem during the course of a year, making it the largest diagnostic group. Modifiable factors including affective disorders (e.g. anxiety and depressive symptoms) and sleep problems may be important prognostic factors for MSK pain. However, there is a lack of prospective research examining the interaction between these conditions in patients with MSK pain in a GP-setting.

Post-natal Depression and Chronic Stress

DepressionPostpartum

The risk of emergence of a post natal depression is based on an interaction between a maternal psychic vulnerability and a chronic environmental context of stress. The PND appears as a relevant model for studying the mechanisms of chronic stress and vulnerability to psychological pathologies. This study aim to follow a cohort of pregnant women to determine the predictive psychobiological factors of the emergence of postnatal depression

An Observational Study of Post-cesarean Delivery Respiratory Patterns Using a Non-invasive Minute...

PregnancyAnalgesia3 more

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the breathing patterns of women who undergo cesarean delivery with spinal or epidural morphine for post-operative pain control in the first day after surgery. Some women who undergo cesarean delivery may be at risk for respiratory complications related to opiate administration for post-operative pain. The primary aim of this study is to evaluate post-operative minute ventilation in women who undergo cesarean delivery using a novel method of non-invasive minute ventilation monitoring, and to see if there are predictive risk factors that may predispose women to post-operative hypoventilation.

Neuraxial Labor Analgesia and the Incidence of Postpartum Depression

ParturitionAnalgesia3 more

Postpartum depression (PPD) affects approximately 15% of women during the first year after giving birth, and is common across cultures. The etiology of postpartum depression is not totally clear. The severe pain experienced during childbirth was reported to be associated with the development of postpartum depression. The purpose of the present study is to evaluate whether use of neuraxial labor analgesia can reduce the incidence of postpartum depression.

Functional Neuroanatomy and Regional Metabolism Before and After Treatment With Duloxetine

Depression

The findings may guide future investigations on novel therapeutic targets in depressive subjects. Based on the depicted link between personality traits and altered brain metabolism and function, the latter might be used as supporting objective measures and possible biomarkers for increased depression risk.

Implementation of a Collaborative Care Model to Manage Depression Among Adolescents and Young Adults...

DepressionHIV

This study aims to investigate the acceptability and feasibility of the implementation of a collaborative care model (CCM) to screen and treat depression. This model will includes cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and useof a task-shifting model to address depression among adolescents and young adults (AYA) who are seeking HIV treatment and prevention services at a hospital in Bangkok, Thailand. Analyses will be guided by the consolidated framework for implementation research (CFIR), which will include the identification of facilitators and barriers to implementation of this CCM. In the last 3 years, 10-20% of AYA patients at King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital (KCMH) who seek HIV treatment or prevention services suffer from mental health disorders. As a result, CCM integration for depression screening and treatment was implemented at the 'CU Buddy Clinic' KCMH with the ultimate goal of increasing access to and engagement in mental healthcare with a goal to improve the overall quality of life for Thai AYA. This project will inform a future implementation science study that will focus on how the optimization of integrated mental healthcare into routine AYA HIV treatment and prevention services can impact health outcomes for patients, including ART adherence and long-term viral suppression (AYA living with HIV) and HIV acquisition risk behaviors and PrEP adherence (AYA at risk for HIV).

Impact of Covid-19 Restrictive Measure on Anxiety, Depression and PTSD for Relatives of ICU Patients...

Covid-19Family Members1 more

To limit the pandemic Covid-19 infection, the French government imposed a closure of all Intensive Care Unit (ICU). The family's visitations are prohibited during active Covid -19 pandemic in 2020 and in 2021. This restrictive visit policy could result in an increase in symptoms of anxiety, depression or post-traumatic stress disorder for relatives of ICU patients. The aim of this study is to compare symptoms of anxiety, depression or post-traumatic stress for relatives of ICU patients during Covid period with those during no Covid period (2020 and 2021) with those no Covid period (2022)
