A Study for Type 2 Diabetic Patients

Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus

The purpose of the study is to compare the insulin lispro low mixture (1, 2 or 3 daily injections) with insulin glargine (alone or with 1, 2 or 3 insulin lispro daily injections) on lowering the blood sugar level

Adiponectin in Obese Women With T2DN and Effects by RAS Blocker

ObeseType 2 Diabetes3 more

Insulin resistance typically characterizes type 2 diabetes (T2DM) and prediabetic states and is the prominent feature of the metabolic syndrome.Adiponectin plays an important part in glucose metabolism, insulin resistance, the deterioration of renal function.we hypothesize there is a difference serum adiponectin levels between obese and non-obese women with type 2 diabetic nephropathy. Furthermore, these two groups would respond difference to the RAs blocker(Losartan).

Vitamin C and Cardiovascular Risk

AtherosclerosisType 2 Diabetes

Study Goal #1: Determine the optimal oral dose of vitamin C to reduce surrogate markers of atherosclerosis (blockages in blood vessels) following the consumption of an atherogenic high fat lunch in type 2 diabetic individuals. Study Goal #2: After conducting the original study, we found that vitamin E was not effective in reducing the markers of oxidative stress, hypercoagulation, inflammation, and metabolic parameters in patients with type 2 diabetes. To date, data from randomized trials have largely demonstrated no significant benefit of vitamin E supplementation on the prevention of primary and/or secondary cardiovascular disease as once thought. Therefore, we decided to amend our current protocol to add a Part B to study only the effects of vitamin C at the following doses: 500 mg, 1000 mg, and 2000 mg daily (and include a placebo arm, as well.

A Study to Compare the Safety and Drug Levels in Blood When Using Various Forms of GSK189075 Given...

Type 2 Diabetes MellitusDiabetes Mellitus1 more

The purpose of this research study is to look at concentrations of GSK189075 in blood when different long and short acting forms of the drug are taken by mouth. The results will help to decide whether a long-acting form of GSK189075 can be made. The effects of the drug on the body and safety will also be studied.

Short-Term Intensive Insulin Therapy Induction of Long-term Glycemic Control

Type 2 Diabetes

We designed this prospective, randomized control study to compare the benefits between the insulin therapy and OADs after correction of the glucose toxicity with a short period of intensive insulin therapy.

Study of CRx-401 on Glucose Levels in Subjects With Type II Diabetes

Type 2 Diabetes

This trial will assess the efficacy of CRx-401 in lowering FPG levels in patients taking metformin to treat their diabetes. In addition, this initial trial will evaluate insulin resistance (HOMA-IR index), HgbA1c levels, glycated protein, LDL, HDL, triglycerides, and total cholesterol, as well as the safety of CRx-401.

Efficacy and Safety of Treatment With Balaglitazone in Type 2 Diabetes Patients on Stable Insulin...

Diabetes MellitusType 2

Type 2 diabetes mellitus is a metabolic disorder that is primarily characterized by insulin resistance, relative insulin deficiency, and hyperglycemia. People with type 2 diabetes are at high risk of many serious diabetic complications, including cardiovascular disease, blindness, nerve damage and kidney damage. Balaglitazone is a thiazolidinedione derivative that is being developed as an oral anti-diabetic drug to improve blood glucose control in patients with type 2 diabetes. The purpose of this study is to assess if additional treatment with balaglitazone in patients with type 2 diabetes on stable insulin treatment will improve blood glucose control and decrease the daily insulin dose compared to placebo, but with less impact on weight gain and oedema than pioglitazone (Actos®) 45 mg.

Diabetes MellitusType 2

The purpose of this study is to examine the effectiveness and safety of insulin lispro protamine suspension (ILPS) as compared to insulin glargine as basal insulin therapy in adults with type 2 diabetes.
