Afrezza® Dosing Optimization Study

Diabetes MellitusType 12 more

MKC-TI-191 is a Phase 4, single-arm, multicenter, proof-of-concept clinical trial evaluating the efficacy and safety of Afrezza, administered according to the current Afrezza prescribing information (PI) compared to a titrated dose, in combination with a basal insulin in adult subjects (≥18 years of age) with type 1 diabetes mellitus (T1DM) or type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). Eligible subjects will be on a stable regimen consisting of a basal bolus insulin therapy prior to screening. The study is composed of up to 4 clinic visits (screening, 2 treatment visits, and a follow-up visit). Two individual doses of Afrezza will be administered during a meal challenge at Visits 2 and 3. The duration of each subject's participation in the trial is expected to be approximately 2 weeks.

Impact of the Rapid Normalization of Chronic Hyperglycemia and the Practice of Moderate Physical...

Type II Diabetes

The rapid normalization of hyperglycemia can cause a neuropathy called Diabetes Treatment-Induced Neuropathy (NITD). This phenomenon induces the presence of hyper vascularization and inflammation in contact with the nerve ends. In another register in patients living with diabetes, it has been observed the development of a rare and devastating complication for the joints called the so-called neuroarthropathy of Charcot (CN).

Metabolic Effects of Whey Compounds in Patients With Diabetes Mellitus Type 2.

Diabetes MellitusType 2

The main objective of our study is to investigate the metabolic effects of a i) ordinary whey protein (WHE) and ii) a specific whey protein fraction (speWHE) when the interventions are ingested by patients with type 2 diabetes 30 minutes prior to an oral glucose tolerance test (OGTT). We will also investigate the glucose response when the patients ingest the interventions at home in their own environment 30 minutes before breakfast and dinner (2days) and also monitor glucose levels without interventions (2 days).

Effect of Escalating Oral Vitamin D Replacement on HOMA-IR in Vitamin D Deficient Type 2 Diabetics...

Vitamin D DeficiencyInsulin Resistance2 more

In addition to its effect on maintaining calcium homeostasis and mineralization of bone, vitamin D has been linked to play a pivotal role in different medical conditions including type 2 diabetes mellitus. Vitamin D plays a major role in both insulin secretion and decreasing the insulin resistance hence has a major impact on glucose tolerance. This study is designed to determine the non-skeletal effects of vitamin D in improving the glucose tolerance in type 2 diabetic patients by decreasing the insulin resistance
