Pharmacokinetic Drug Interaction Study of Dapagliflozin and Valsartan or Simvastatin in Healthy...
Type 2 Diabetes MellitusPhase A - To assess the effect of simvastatin on the pharmacokinetics (PK) of dapagliflozin and to determine the effect of dapagliflozin on the PK of simvastatin, when simvastatin and dapagliflozin are coadministered in healthy subjects. Phase B - To assess the effect of valsartan on the PK of dapagliflozin and to determine the effect of dapagliflozin on the PK of valsartan, when valsartan and dapagliflozin are coadministered in healthy subjects

The Effect of the GLP-1 Analogue Exenatide on Type 2 Diabetes in CNS and Heart During Hyperglycemia...
Type 2 Diabetes30 type 2 diabetic patients will be PET-scanned twice ( half of the patients heart-PET, half of the patients CNS-PET) in random order with infusions of placebo or GLP-1-analogue during hyperglycemic clamp to uncover the metabolic effects of GLP-1-analogues in perspectives of intervention of macrovascular late diabetic pathology such as stroke and AMI. Earlier studies have revealed tendencies towards steady glucose metabolism in the CNS despite fluctuations in blood sugar when infusing native GLP-1.

The Metabolic Effects of Acute Hyperglycemia in Patients With Type 2 Diabetes
Type 2 Diabetes MellitusThe purpose of the study is to characterize the changes in amino acid, lipid and glucose metabolism in patients with type 2 diabetes exposed to acute hyperglycemia. Moreover we wish to assess the effect of acute hyperglycemia on cardiac output.

Antioxidant Effects of Pomegranate Juice Versus Placebo in Adults With Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus...
Type 2 Diabetes MellitusThis is a research study designed to look at how pomegranate juice (or a placebo juice) affects the body through the measurement of specific biomarkers, which are indicators of health.

"Information Technology Methodology for Patient Motivation in Diabetes Management."
Type 2 DiabetesType 2 diabetes is a chronic metabolic disorder requiring lifestyle modification and medicines, adherence to which has to be practised on a daily basis. Motivation of patients to adhere to treatment is difficult in clinical practice. It is well documented that majority of patients do not reach the glycaemic targets even in the centres of excellence. Regular short service messages (SMS) through cell phones could have a positive effect on behaviour and adherence to life style changes and compliance to drugs. It may be practical and feasible to use information technology as an effective and simple tool for motivating patients to adhere to the prescribed treatment regimen. In diabetic patients, frequent reminders regarding the need for adherence to LSM and drugs by the medical professionals will improve the compliance.

Sleep Loss and Energy Metabolism in People With Family History of Type 2 Diabetes.
SleepSleep Deprivation2 moreThe use of energy from food changes when people sleep. However, it is still not known if differences in the amount of nighttime sleep have an effect on the amount of energy that people who have a relative with type 2 diabetes (parent, sibling, or grandparent) use to perform their daily activities. This study is being done to test the hypothesis that the daily use of energy in people who have a history of type 2 diabetes in their family will be different after they have slept short hours for 16 days in comparison to when they have slept longer hours for 16 days.

Single-centre, Randomised, Double-blind, Placebo-controlled, Four-way Crossover Clinical Study to...
Type II Diabetes MellitusThe primary objective of this study is to assess the safety and tolerability of the Glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) peptide analogue CM3.1-AC100 after single subcutaneous (sc) doses in patients with T2DM.

Understanding and Improving Diabetes Care for Ethnic Minorities
Diabetes MellitusType 2In this study, we are testing the effectiveness of an intervention known as "Coached Care" to improve health outcomes and quality of care of patients being treated for type 2 diabetes, particularly patients in underserved populations. The intervention involves training members of minority communities who have diabetes to be "coaches", teaching minority patients the skills needed to participate effectively in care during office visits, as they present for those visits. Coaches follow patients for 9 routine consecutive visits, reinforcing participation skills before and between their routine office visits.

Drug Interaction of Vildagliptin (LAF237) With Voglibose in Japanese Patients With Type 2 Diabetes...
Type 2 DiabetesThis study will evaluate the effect of voglibose on the pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of vildagliptin in Japanese patients with type 2 diabetes.

Cognitive Behavioral Intervention in Diabetes Self-Management
Type 2 DiabetesThe proposed study is a two arm randomized controlled trial with longitudinal follow-up that compares cognitive behavioral interventions (ENHANCE) to a control group with attention. The experiment will consist of a repeated measure 2 X 3 design; Condition (Experiment vs. Control) by Time (Pre, Post, Follow Up).
