A Non-Interventional Pilot Study to Explore the Role of Gut Flora in Diabetes Mellitus
Diabetes MellitusDiabetes Mellitus1 moreThis study seeks to correlate microbiome sequencing data with information provided by patients and their medical records.
Gut Microbiota and Bile Acids in Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus
Diabetes MellitusType 22 moreThe investigators will evaluate the stool microbiota, serum and fecal bile acid composition, and changes in blood glucose and lipid profile before and after one month of metformin or YH1 treatment.
Assessment of Metabolic Profiles of Lower Extremity Arterial Disease in Patiens Withe Type 2 Diabetes...
Diabetic AngiopathiesDiabetes Mellitus1 moreThe prevalence of lower extremity arterial disease (LEAD) in patients with diabetes increases significantly and are characterized with obvious arteriosclerosis that are caused by multiple metabolic disorders. Metabolomics measures the metabolites in biological fluids or tissues that generated under certain conditions via rapidly evolving high-throughput technology. Herein, the investigators designed the study to characterize the serum metabolic profiles of LEAD patients and identify metabolic biomarkers using metabolomics. The serum of volunteers, type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM) patients with or without LEAD were collected and analyzed using liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry(LC-MS) coupled with a series of multivariate statistical analyses.
Changes of Muramyl Dipeptide in Intestinal and Extra-intestinal Diseases
Colorectal CancerInflammatory Bowel Disease2 moreNucleotide-binding oligomerization domain 2 (Nod2) signaling is critical for human health. To figure out the clinical relevance of NOD2 ligands, the investigators plan to evaluate the change of NOD2 ligands in inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD), CRC, atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ACVD), and type 2 diabetes mellitus (DM2 ).
MODY in Young-onset Diabetes in Different Ethnicities
DiabetesMaturity Onset Diabetes of the Young2 moreThe purpose of this study is to describe and compare the different types of diabetes that exist in people from white European and south Asian origin in the UK (United Kingdom) who are diagnosed with diabetes before they turn 30 years old. By doing this we hope to identify cases of MODY (maturity onset diabetes of the young), which is a rare genetic cause of diabetes that is frequently misdiagnosed. Identifying MODY cases is important, as the treatment may differ to conventional treatment for type 1 or type 2 diabetes.
New Body Mass Index (BMI) Cut-offs for the Diagnosis of Obesity and Comorbidities
ObesityOverweight2 moreObesity is a serious medical problem because it increases the risk of cardiovascular disease (CVD), type 2 diabetes mellitus, and certain forms of cancer. The definition of obesity is based on an excess of body fat, not of BMI. However, BMI is the reference used to establish a graded classification of weight relative to height. Although BMI is widely used as a simple surrogate measure of body fat and has been shown to correlate closely with adiposity, it would be more appropriate to determine body fat percentage and to use this value for classification purposes. The present study contemplates the determination of the per cent body fat with the aim of establishing new diagnostic and therapeutic criteria according to the associated comorbidities.
Developement of Questionnaire to Evaluate a Regularity of Lifestyle in Type 2 Diabetic Patients...
Type 2 DiabetesIn order to manage of type 2 diabetic patients with irregular lifestyle, developement of an appropriate questionnaire to evaluate a regularity of lifestyle is necessary.
The Gene Expression Patterns in the Peripheral White Blood Cells of Type 2 Diabetic Patients
Diabetes MellitusType 21 moreThe investigators hypothesize that macrophages play a crucial role in the pathogenesis of atherosclerosis in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM).
The Progress of Diabetes Mellitus After HMS5552 Treatment in Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus
Type2 Diabetes MellitusAt present, there are few studies on the clinical remission rate of diabetes after one year discontinuation of oral hypoglycemic drugs after intensive treatment. HMS5552 is a kind of GKA hypoglycemic drug. This study intends to observe the clinical remission rate of diabetes mellitus, beta cell function and blood sugar fluctuation of patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus who have been treated with HMS5552 for 52W or 28W and whose glucose control is up to the standard.
Fasting and Postprandial Cerebral Blood Flow in Type 2 Diabetic Patients
Type 2 Diabetes MellitusCerebral Blood FlowThe purpose of this study is to explore the changes of fasting and postprandial cerebral blood flow in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. Some studies have proved that non-fasting blood glucose concentration is an independent predictor of ischemic stroke and lacunar infarction. At present, there are differences in cerebral blood flow velocity between diabetic patients and healthy controls. Therefore, it is of certain significance to explore the changes of fasting and postprandial cerebral blood flow in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus.
