The Influence of Personality Characteristics and Emotions on Blood Glucose Levels Among Type 1 Diabetes...
Diabetes MellitusType 13 moreThe research goal is to find a correlation between patient personality characteristics, patients' mood and glycemic control. Eventually, using this information may allow treating physicians the ability to better balance glucose blood levels in patients with T1DM, by recognizing influencing psychological parameters. The conclusion from this research will add to other physiological parameters that are being studied today, and in the future will be integrated into an artificial pancreas. The investigators believe that there is a correlation that hasn't been studied in the past between personality characteristics, daily emotions and the ability to balance glucose blood levels in patients with T1DM.
Response to BNT162b2 Vaccine in Adolescents With Type 1 Diabetes
type1diabetesAdolescents with type 1 diabetes may be at increased risk for severe coronavirus disease-2019 (COVID-19) and are therefore prioritized for access to severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) vaccination. The pivotal trial that assessed the efficacy of the BNT162b2 vaccine among adolescents demonstrated 100% protection against SARS-CoV-2 infection after a two-dose regimen. However, the research did not include adolescents with type 1 diabetes. In this study, the investigators aimed to assess the humoral immune response of infection-naive adolescents with type 1 diabetes following vaccination with the BNT162b2 vaccine in comparison to that of infection-naive healthy controls and the factors associated with that response.
Biomarkers of Heterogeneity in Type 1 Diabetes
Type 1 DiabetesBiomarkers of heterogeneity in type 1 diabetes: establishment of a biobank and an integrated approach to clinical and metabolic phenotyping of individuals with established T1DM. In this project the investigators are searching for biomarkers in 600 patients with established (>5 years) diabetes. The inter-relation and patterns of expression in clinical, (auto)immune, metabolic, inflammatory and other parameters, and (potential) biomarkers are investogated. Blood and urine samples are collected annually (over 3 years) in standardized conditions and biobanked. In addition, 150 patients will undergo additional metabolic testing (such as mixed meal-tests).
Glycemic Effects of the COVID-19 Booster Vaccine in Type 1 Diabetes
Type 1 DiabetesDiabetes Mellitus1 moreVaccines for COVID-19 are an essential part of combating the coronavirus pandemic. Vaccines "prime" the immune system against an invader (in this case the SARS-CoV-2 virus) by causing a temporary increased immune or inflammatory response. Inflammation can temporarily increase sugar levels and/or insulin requirements among patients with diabetes. The purpose of this study is to investigate whether the "booster" COVID-19 vaccine dose causes temporarily increased sugar levels and/or insulin dose requirements among patients with Type 1 Diabetes (T1D).
The Epidemiology, Management and Comorbidities in Alopecia Areata in Czech Republic
Alopecia AreataAlopecia Totalis27 moreThe study series consists of three studies with the aim to assess the incidence, prevalence, risk factors, comorbidities and management of patients with alopecia areata in Czech Republic based on the patients and registry of a dermatology clinic of a metropolitan hospital.
Clinical Effects of Intermitent Continuous Glucose Monitoring in Type 1 Diabetes
Type 1 DiabetesObservational cross-sectional multicenter study about clinical effect of intermitent continuous glucose monitoring (Flash) in adult type 1 diabetes patients in an Spanish public health system.
Study on the Use of the Insulin Pump Tandem X:2 With Control IQ Algorithm - Update
Type 1 DiabetesInsulin TherapyThe aim of this observational clinical trial is to obtain data on the safety, efficacy and satisfaction of the Tandem T:Slim X:2 Pump System in patients with type 1 diabetes.
Training on Using ıInsulin in Patients With Type 2 Diabetes
Insulin Dependent DiabetesDiabetes type2This study was conducted to evaluate the effect of individual insulin use training given to patients with type 2 diabetes using insulin on safe drug administration, pain level and perception of treatment. The study was conducted between October 2022 and March 2023 with a randomized control group.
Freestyle Libre Use in Real Life: Efficacy and Acceptance
Diabetes MellitusType 1Aim of the study is to evaluate efficacy of freestyle Libre system (flash glucose monitoring) in real life in term of Glycated Haemoglobin reduction and acceptance of the system evaluated through validated questionnaires after 3 and 6 months of device's use.
Acceptance and Value Based Methods in Increasing Wellbeing of Adolescents With Type 1 Diabetes
DiabetesThe aim of the study is to study how using acceptance and value based group intervention helps the wellbeing of teenagers with type in diabetes. The investigators created an ACT-group intervention consisting of five sessions, based on earlier research. 12-16 years- old diabetics who are treated at KSSHP pediatric policlinic are invited to join the groups. The participants are randomized to research and control groups. The HbA1c-level is monitored for both groups as well as the psychological flexibility, diabetes related acceptance, depression and quality of life.
