Maternal ExeRcIse Timing to Optimise Postprandial Glucose in Type 1 Diabetes
Pregnancy in DiabeticType 1 DiabetesPoor glycaemic control in pregnancy is a major factor leading to obstetric complications and future maternal-offspring diseases. This phenomenon is evidenced in women with type 1 diabetes (T1DM), and is worrisome since it is aggravating the disease burden of this and next generations. Exercise is a promising tool to improve glucose control during pregnancy and thus avoid adverse consequences. The MERIT1D study will explore when is exercise (before or after lunch) more effective to improve postprandial glycaemic control in pregnant and non-pregnant women (of reproductive age) with T1DM, and the mechanisms underlying these metabolic responses.

BEAD-T1D: Building the Evidence to Address Disparities in Type 1 Diabetes
Type 1 DiabetesYouth from low socioeconomic groups are at a systematic disadvantage in the provision of diabetes care, particularly diabetes technology which is associated with improvement in diabetes-specific outcomes. Thus, the type 1 diabetes community urgently need studies to understand and ameliorate the persistent worsening of disparities of diabetes management and outcomes in youth from low socioeconomic backgrounds. This proposed research will (1) improve representation of diverse youth in the literature, (2) address the gap in knowledge of barriers and promoters in publicly insured youth, and (3) identify and address factors of worsening disparity in diabetes technology.

Diabetes MellitusType 1Collection of venous blood samples in 50 persons with type 1 diabetes to evaluate the behavior of different biomarkers (glucose, lactate, beta-hydroxybutyrate), and hormones (cortisol, growth hormone) during and after one morning CardioPulmonary Exercise Test and 2 aerobic (90 minutes at 40-45% of VO2 max) exercise tests under different circumstances (see Protocol).
Sigi Insulin Management System - A First-in-Human Study in Adults With Type 1 Diabetes
Type 1 DiabetesThis early feasibility first-in-human study is a prospective single-arm single-center study of Sigi insulin patch pump. After a 1st day and night under medical surveillance during a hotel stay, Sigi system will be evaluated during 15 days at home in adults with type 1 diabetes.
GO TEAM: Glucose Optimization Through Technology Assisted Management
Type 1 DiabetesBlack/African American children and young adults with type 1 diabetes are less likely to use diabetes technologies, such as continuous glucose monitors, insulin pumps, and automated insulin delivery systems, compared to White children and young adults. The investigators are working to find ways to make sure that all patients with type 1 diabetes are equally able to use these technologies. The purpose of this study is to find out if a new computer program for the diabetes team, along with a smartphone app (called Glucosano) for patients/parents, as well as a community health worker, are accepted and used by Black/African American patients and parents living with type 1 diabetes, and if this can help decrease racial disparities in the use of diabetes technologies.
A Trial to Compare Automated Lyumjev Delivery With Carbohydrate Counting, Qualitative Meal-size...
Diabetes MellitusType 11 moreThe goal of this pilot trial is to compare three meal strategies using an ultra-rapid insulin (Lyumjev) and an automated insulin delivery system. The meal strategies to be investigated are carbohydrate counting, qualitative meal announcement (e.g., low-carb meal), and meal detection. The investigators are doing this research to evaluate if carbohydrate counting can be simplified in patients with type 1 diabetes. Participants will test each meal strategy in random order, and each meal strategy will be 21 days long. For the duration of each meal strategy, participants will use an automated insulin delivery system or "artificial pancreas" with an ultra-rapid insulin called Lyumjev.
A Stable Glucagon Analog Administered by a Bihormonal Closed Loop System
Diabetes MellitusType 1The main objective is to determine the feasibility of dasiglucagon in a bi-hormonal reactive closed loop system for automated glucose regulation (artificial pancreas; AP®) in patients with diabetes mellitus type 1. Safety parameters and pharmacodynamics are compared between Dasiglucagon and GlucaGen®. This study is a single-center, double-blinded, randomized, cross over trial in 12 subjects. The subjects will be randomized to receive either dasiglucagon or GlucaGen® for the first three day study period and switch to the alternate treatment after a wash-out treatment.
Emotional Wellbeing in Diabetes
Diabetes MellitusDiabetes Mellitus12 moreThe investigators want to understand the feasibility and acceptability of implementing COMPASS: Online Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) in routine NHS care for individuals with diabetes. People with type 1 or type 2 diabetes with co-morbid psychological distress will be invited to take part in a pre-post implementation study of COMPASS: Online CBT for managing depression and anxiety in context of Long-Term conditions (LTCs). Patients with diabetes who are also experiencing depression and/or anxiety and/or diabetes specific distress will be recruited from: Improving Access to Psychological therapies (IAPT) services or clinics within Guys and St Thomas National Health Service (NHS) trust (GSTT) in London, United Kingdom (UK).
Effects of Nursing Diabetes Self-management Education
Diabetes MellitusType 11 moreA study protocol for analyze the influence of therapeutic education on the metabolic control of patients with type I diabetes. To measure the change in glucose levels, it will use the continuous glucose monitoring sensor that the patients have implanted. It will perform a data download prior and after to the educational intervention. An assessment of acquired knowledge will also be performed and it will be analyzed whether learning about their disease and self-care helps to improve their emotional state. The intervention of this study is only training with therapeutic education, it does not require any type of extra test or medical or pharmacological product. It will only be necessary to answer attitudinal questionnaires by the patient
