A Study for Sufficient Acarbose Decreased Glucose Excursion in Type 2 Diabetic Patients
Type 2 Diabetes MellitusPoor Glycemic ControlThis is a multicentre observational study to investigate the improvement in glucose fluctuation of sufficient acarbose therapy on type 2 diabetes patient with high blood glucose fluctuation
Vascular and Metabolic Changes in Postmenopausal Diabetics
Diabete Type 2The presence of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) also increases the relative risk of developing cardiovascular disease in women compared to men. Carotid intima media thickness (IMTc) was increased with reduction in brachial artery flow-mediated dilation (FMD) in T2 DM patients and inversely and strongly related to the extent of hyperglycemia. Low concentrations of folate and vitamin B12 involved in homocysteine metabolism are also associated with increased risk of vascular damage. the aim is to relate, if found, the degree of metabolic changes to the extent in vascular parameters changes in type 2 diabetic postmenopausal women.
Umbrella Review and Updated Systematic Review and Meta-analysis of Pulses/Legumes and Incident Cardiometabolic...
Cardiovascular DiseasesCoronary Heart Disease5 moreThe European Association for the Study of Diabetes (EASD) guidelines have not made any specific recommendations regarding dietary pulses. To update the recommendations, the Diabetes and Nutrition Study Group (DNSG) of the EASD commissioned an umbrella review and updated systematic review and meta-analysis using the Grading of Recommendations Assessment, Development, and Evaluation (GRADE) approach to summarize the available evidence from prospective cohort studies of the association between dietary pulses/legumes and cardiometabolic disease outcomes (incident cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, hypertension and overweight/obesity).
Cadence and Intensity in Adults With Type 2 Diabetes
Type 2 Diabetes MellitusWalkingThe purpose of this study is to measure and link cadence (number of steps taken in a minute) to intensity of physical activity (e.g., low-intensity, moderate intensity, vigorous-intensity) in adults (40- 65 years-old) with type 2 diabetes.
Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus and Chronic Kidney Disease
Renal Disorder Associated With Type II Diabetes MellitusTo investigate the effect of co existance of diabetes mellitus and chronic kidney disease on basic coagulation profile in comparison with diabetic patients with normal kidney function and non diabetic patients with chronic kidney disease
Myocardial Pathological Changes in Patients of Type 2 Diabetes With or Without PCOS Using Cardiac...
Type2 DiabetesPolycystic Ovary SyndromeThe study is prepared to use CMR technology for early screening of myocardial lesions in 561 age-matched women with type 2 diabetes without PCOS, with PCOS without type 2 diabetes and with type 2 diabetes combined with PCOS, compare the differences between the two groups of cardiomyocyte injury changes, and treat and follow-up with type 2 diabetes and PCOS in accordance with the current standard treatment guidelines for type 2 diabetes and PCOS, after 3 years of follow-up we will analyse the changes in cardiomyopathy, cardiac serological indicators, and heart function indicators, which can provide theoretical basis for early clinical intervention in the future.
Use of GDF15 as a Biomarker for Early Diagnosis of DM and Monitoring of Progress of Complications...
Diabetes MellitusType 22 moreSignificant differences in the expression of individual Growth Differentiation Factor 15 (GDF-15) proteins among Taiwanese harboring different mitochondrial genotypes are noted, and their blood serum levels also exhibited associations with diabetes. GDF-15 was originally discovered as an autocrine regulator of macrophage activation and shown to play important roles in fibrosis, malignancy, cardiovascular disease, glycemic control, and obesity. However, the relationship between GDF-15 and pre-diabetes and diabetes in Asian populations has yet to be fully investigated. Besides, any indirect associations between GDF-15 levels and diabetic complications remain unclear. The investigators aim to further investigate the role of GDF-15 levels in the initial diagnosis of diabetes, the monitoring of medication effectiveness and disease progression, and related complications such as diabetic nephropathy and neuropathy. The DNA isolated from the blood samples will be evaluated to determine individual mitochondria haplogroups, including variants located within the coding and control regions of the mitochondrial genome.
Exploring Nutritype Signature of Type 2 Diabetes Risks in Women Post-Gestational Diabetes Mellitus...
Type 2 DiabetesGestational DiabetesWomen post-gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) have more than 7-fold increased risk of having future type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). While a healthful dietary pattern reduces the risk of diabetes in post-GDM, no data support a dietary pattern tailored to the Malaysian diet. To address this issue, the investigators propose to determine the effects of dietary patterns and plasma metabolites in predicting the risk of T2DM known as the Nutritype model. The aim of this study is to identify Nutritype signatures of T2DM risk in women post-GDM using metabolomics approach.
Telemedical Devices in the Management of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus to Improve Diabetic Control and...
Diabetes MellitusType 2The aim of this study is to understand, in adult patients with Type 2 diabetes mellitus, if the use of telemedicine (monitoring and treatment without patients having to attend a healthcare facility) and home-based care is more effective than traditional general practitioner (GP) and outpatient care in terms of patients taking medication regularly and their quality of life. The hypothesis of this study is that patients with Type 2 diabetes mellitus uploading data on a telemedicine system achieve a glycemic control, evaluated in terms of glycated hemoglobin levels, similar to that of patients followed in a traditional diabetes outpatient department, with improvements to quality of life
Risk Prediction in Type II Diabetics With Ischemic Heart Disease
Type-2 Diabetes MellitusIschemic Heart DiseaseThe purpose of this study is to test whether cardiac autonomic dysfunction predicts is a prognostic marker in type-2 diabetics with ischemic heart disease
