Exercise Enhances Wound Healing in Patients With Diabetic Foot Ulcers
Diabetic Foot UlcerThe overarching purpose of this study is to investigate the impact that exercise, as delivered through a medically supervised, outpatient cardiac rehabilitation program, has on the wound healing process in Type 2 diabetics having foot ulcers classified as being Wound, Ischemia, foot Infection (WIfI) stage 2 or lower. The criterion reference measure of diabetic foot ulcer wound healing is be the time required to reach the maturation phase of the wound healing cascade (wound closure without drainage).
Quality of Life and Self-care in Patients With Diabetic Foot Ulcers Treated With Low-level Laser...
Diabetic Foot UlcerDiabetic FootDiabetic foot ulcers (DFU) are aggressive complications of diabetes mellitus (DM) and affect 25% of these patients. DFU are associated with a high risk of amputations and early mortality and significantly impact quality of life (QoL). The low-level laser therapy (LLLT) is an important approach for the treatment of DFU, however there is a lack of data on its influence on the QoL of patients with DFU. On the other hand, adherence to self-care is a factor closely related to QoL. Therefore, this study is justified by the need to understand the impact of LLLT on QoL and its relationship with self-care. Aim: To evaluate the quality of life of patients with diabetic foot ulcers treated with different doses of LLLT (GaAs) 904 nm and its association with aspects of adherence to self-care. Methods: This is a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical trial. Participants will be randomly assigned to the groups: control LLLT placebo (CG), LLLT 904 nm 10 J/cm² (LG1), LLLT 904 nm 8 J/cm² (LG2) and LLLT 904 nm 4 J/cm² (LG3). QoL data, percentage of healing and pain will be assessed before the start of the intervention, in 10th week and after one month to the end of intervention, self-care will be assessed before the start of the intervention and at the end of intervention. Eighty participants with DFU will be recruited who will receive intervention twice a week for up to 20 visits (10 weeks).
A Clinical Investigation Evaluating Wound Closure With OptiPulse™ Versus SOC in the Treatment of...
Diabetic Foot UlcerThe purpose of this clinical investigation is to assess the safety and performance of Compedica's OptiPulse™ and to collect subject outcome data on the treatment of diabetic foot ulcers (DFU's) versus the standard of care (SOC). OptiPulse™ is designed to enhance blood circulation in the venules and arterioles. Fibracol Plus (or equivalent) is a collagen alginate dressing that is used as the primary dressing. Both products are 510(k) FDA cleared and will be used within the cleared intended use.
Clinical Study of ALLO-ASC-SHEET in Subjects With Diabetic Wagner Grade II Foot Ulcers
Diabetic Foot UlcerThis is a phase 2 double-blind clinical study to evaluate the efficacy and Safety of ALLO-ASC-SHEET in subjects with Diabetic Wagner Grade II Foot Ulcers, compared to placebo therapy.
Safety, Tolerability and Efficacy of CYP-006TK in Adults With Diabetic Foot Ulcers
Diabetic Foot UlcerCutaneous UlcerDesign: A randomised, controlled, prospective trial. Participants will be patients with non-healing diabetic foot ulcers. The study will aim to recruit 15 participants per study group (30 participants in total). Participants will be randomly allocated to one of two treatment groups: Group 1: CYP-006TK Group 2: Standard care This will be an open label study with respect to treatment allocation. However, the person reviewing images of the study ulcers to assess healing will be blind to the participant's treatment allocation. Participants assigned to Group 1 will be treated with CYP-0006TK dressings on 8 occasions over 4 weeks. The dressings will be changed every 3 or 4 days. After the first 4 weeks, participants in Group 1 will revert to standard care for the rest of the study. Participants assigned to Group 2 will have their ulcer treated with standard care throughout the study. Participants will attend a total of 16 scheduled visits over 24 weeks. There will be a mixture of on-site (hospital/clinic) visits, and home visits. The study will end 24 weeks after the initiation of treatment, unless the study ulcer is completely headed before then.
Clinical Study to Evaluate Efficacy and Safety of ALLO-ASC-DFU in Patients With Diabetic Wagner...
Diabetic Foot UlcerThis is a phase III double-blind study to evaluate the efficacy and safety of ALLO-ASC-DFU in patients with Diabetic Wagner grade 2 Foot Ulcer, compared to placebo therapy.
Celliant Socks to Increase Tissue Oxygenation and Complete Wound Closure in Diabetic Foot Wounds...
Diabetic Foot UlcerThis study is a prospective, multicenter, double-blind, 1:1 randomized clinical trial. The purpose of this study is to demonstrate that the use of Celliant Socks increases tissue oxygenation (via oxygen saturation, StO2) and incidence of wound closure in subjects with diabetic foot ulcers. This study will use hyperspectral imaging and wound assessment to measure these outcomes. The study will enroll 254 evaluable subjects total, 127 per arm to meet the Primary Endpoint. Enrollment may continue up to twenty-five hundred (2500) evaluable subjects total to meet the Key Secondary Endpoint of complete wound closure.
Appropriate Strategy of Surgical Treatment in Ischemic Diabetic Foot
Diabetic FootIschemic Diabetic Foot Ulcer1 moreThis cohort study aims to evaluate the outcomes of appropriate surgical treatment strategies in diabetic foot ulcers with different rate of popliteal artery stenosis(<50% or ≥50%). In this study, patients with Texas university grade 2-4(stage C-D) ischemic diabetic foot ulcers will be included. Data of patients who underwent surgical treatment in the past will be retrospectively collected. The patients with follow-up time less than 12 months will continue to follow up. Also the postoperative patients will be prospectively collected. Effects of different surgical strategies, including wound healing therapy, interventional therapy and tibial transverse bone transport therapy will be measured by several indexes.
ChitoCare Medical Wound Healing Gel PMCF Study on Healing of Chronic Wounds
Diabetic Foot UlcerVenous Leg Ulcer1 moreThe purpose of this PMCF study is to evaluate the safety and efficacy of ChitoCare medical Wound Healing Gel for the healing of chronic wounds. The study will enroll patients with diabetic foot ulcer, venous ulcer or pressure ulcer. Patients will be randomly assigned to an active or control group. The active group will apply the gel to the wound, in addition to the standard of care, while the control group will receive only standard care. The study will last from 3 to 18 months for an individual patient (15-month recruitment period and 3 months of follow-up after the last patient is enrolled) or until event occurrence (complete wound healing/exclusion from the study). The study envisages four visits: Visit 1 - Screening and Inclusion visit, Visit 2 (after 4 weeks), Visit 3 (after 12 weeks) and Visit 4 - End of Study Visit: The final visit will take place when the event occurs (complete healing/exclusion from study). On each visit, the patients will have their wound photographed and assessed after debridement. Adverse events will be followed throughout the whole study.
