Efficacy of Adipose Tissue Derived Stem Cells for the Treatment of Diabetic Foot Ulcers
Diabetic Foot UlcerDiabetes Mellitus9 moreThe aim of this study is to evaluate the therapeutic efficacy of uncultured adipose derived stromal vascular fraction (SVF) and cultured adipose derived stem cells (ASCs) both supplemented with platelet rich plasma (PRP) to treat chronic diabetic foot ulcers. It will increase the pragmatic potential of both types of cells as PRP is rich in survival and chemotactic factors. Moreover, the autologous nature of the proposed study will ensure safety of its use in diabetic patients and will unveil the more effective therapeutic option for treatment of foot ulcer wounds.
Trial to Evaluate the Safety and Effectiveness of Treatment With COMS One Device in Subjects With...
Diabetic Foot UlcerThe purpose of this clinical trial is to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of the treatment with the COMS One device in subjects with refractory diabetic foot ulcers (DFUs). The prospective randomized, double-blinded, sham-controlled trial is designed to demonstrate superiority of wound closure of the COMS One device to a sham-control device at 12 weeks post-application, when each is administered in conjunction with standard of care (SOC) in the treatment of DFUs.

A Study to Evaluate ENERGI-F703 GEL in Diabetic Foot Ulcer
Diabetic Foot UlcerFoot Ulcer2 moreThis Phase 3 study is a randomized, double-blind, vehicle-controlled, multiple-center, parallel study to evaluate efficacy and safety of ENERGI-F703 GEL compared with vehicle control in subjects with Wagner Grade 1 to Grade 2 diabetic foot ulcers. Baseline target ulcer size (<16 cm2 vs ≥16 cm2 ) will be included as a stratification factor. Subjects will be randomized 1:1 to receive ENERGI-F703 GEL or vehicle control using an interactive web response system for randomization to automatically assign a unique subject randomization number. Total duration of the study will be up to 31 weeks including Screening visit (approximately 2 to 3 weeks), double-blind dosing/observation phase (16 weeks), and a safety follow-up of 12 weeks after the last administration of study treatment.

Venous Leg UlcerDiabetic Foot UlcerA randomised controlled investigation comparing the clinical performance and cost effectiveness of Biatain® Silicone with Standard of Care dressing including filler in chronic wounds (CP351 - BISIL Study) This study (BISIL) will compare the Biatain® Silicone dressing to commonly used wound care products (AQUACEL®EXTRATM Hydrofiber® Dressing used with Mepilex® Border). The study will recruit in total 100 adult subjects with a venous leg ulcer or a diabetic foot ulcer no deeper than 2cm. Only ulcers with a duration of at least 8 weeks but no longer than a year will be included. The study will be a randomised controlled trial where half of the participants will use Biatain® Silicone and half will use the comparator for 4 weeks. Each participant will be in the study for 4-5 weeks during which there will be a weekly visit with the study team to complete the study assessments and change the dressing. The study will run for approximately one year, starting in January 2023.
Cell Therapy for Diabetic Foot Ulcer
Diabetic Foot Ulcer Associated With Type II Diabetes MellitusWound HealDiabetes is a highly prevalent chronic disease that affects a large part of the world's population. Among the most costly complications is the diabetic foot ulcer, where its decompensation can result in limb amputation, a risk 10 to 20 times more frequent for diabetic population. Two underlying pathophysiological mechanisms are mainly identified: neuropathy and problems associated with vasculature and blood supply, in addition to the incidence of infections, which further impairs prognosis. Skin regeneration involves several overlapping and consecutive stages, which in the case of a diabetic patient are altered. Although healing protocols have been significantly improved at the country level, and there is also a large amount of medical supplies for treatment of these wounds, there are still patients with ulcers refractory to this care that end in amputation. In response to this, new treatments have emerged that use biomaterials and cells of the patient himself, which attempt to emulate the architecture and functionality of normal tissue. Cell therapy has gained strength in recent years, with more and more studies indicating the positive effect of cell application on healing of chronic wounds with underlying pathologies, such as diabetes. The product to be evaluated corresponds to a combined medical device, which conveys a cellular therapy, known as InbioDerm+C. The purpose of this Phase II clinical study is to determine whether InbioDerm+C treatment plus advanced healing is equal to or superior to advanced healing in a diabetic population with Wagner II grade foot ulcer treated in Villa Alemana primary care family centers, Las Américas, Juan Bautista Bravo Vega and Eduardo Frei.
The Effects of Different Exercises on Tissue Mechanics, Strength and Neuropathy Symptoms in Type...
Diabetic FootPeripheral Neuropathy With Type 2 DiabetesTo examine the effects of aerobic exercise and foot exercises in addition to aerobic exercise on lower extremity distal tissue mechanics, muscle strength and neuropathy symptoms in type 2 diabetics with peripheral neuropathy. Subjects will be divided into three groups through randomization.Subjects in the 1st group will be included in the control group and will continue their routine medical treatment for 12 weeks. Subjects in the 2nd group, in addition to their medical treatment, only aerobic exercise training, subjects in the 3rd group will be given aerobic exercise training and exercises for the foot and ankle in addition to their medical treatment. After 12 weeks of training, subjects will be followed for another 12 weeks. subjects will be evaluated before treatment, at 12 and 24 weeks.
Safety and Efficacy of ActiGraft Compared to Standard of Care in DFUs
Diabetic FootChronic UlcerThe study is a multi-center, prospective, randomized, controlled, single blinded clinical study consisting of 150 subjects from up to 20 centers. The subjects are randomized to receive 1 of 2 treatments, either with ActiGraft and standard of care (SOC) or with SOC alone. The target ulcers are evaluated weekly by the investigator. The subject is treated once a week, to receive weekly applications of the ActiGraft + SOC or SOC until for up to 12 weeks or until the study ulcer has completely healed (i.e., 100% closure as assessed by the Investigator and blinded assessor and confirmed 2 weeks later at the healing confirmation visit (HCV). One additional visit per week is optional for both arms, for the purpose of changing only (1) the secondary dressing in the ActiGraft arm or (2) change the standard of care dressing in the control arm. Immediately after the study ulcer is confirmed as completely healed, subjects will enter the 12-week Follow-up Phase. During the Follow-Up phase, subjects will be evaluated twice during the first month and then monthly for two additional visits every 4 weeks until the completion of the 12-week Follow-up Phase.
Iontophoresis of Treprostinil to Enhance Wound Healing in Diabetic Foot Skin Ulcers
Diabetic Foot UlcerAssess the effect of iontophoresis of treprostinil on wound closure over 12 weeks, in patients with DFU. In the present study the investigators aim at establishing the proof-of-concept of iontophoresis of treprostinil as a potential treatment of diabetic foot ulcers in humans. The main hypothesis is that in patients with DFUs, the pharmacodynamic effect of a PGI2 analogue potentiates the effect of low-intensity current on microvascular function, tissue oxygenation and healing.
Additional Hyperbaric Oxygen After Lower Extremity Amputation
Diabetes MellitusClaudication8 moreThis study evaluates the effect of additional hyperbaric oxygen therapy after lower extremity amputation. The patients will be randomized after amputation to either a treatment group receiving hyperbaric oxygen therapy, or control group.
