The CLEAR study is testing the level of agreement between visual acuity and Amsler grid testing using a mobile vision testing application, Checkup Study, and standard in office methods. In addition the percent of patients able to successfully complete home testing on the digital device will be assessed.

Retinopathy may be associated with diastolic dysfunction and/or coronary flow reserve in the heart, and albuminuria in diabetic patients. The objective of this study is to examine the cross-sectional relationships of retinopathy with indices of left ventricular diastolic function, coronary flow reserve and urinary albumin excretion, among diabetic patients.

This study is to build an multi-modal artificial intelligence ophthalmological imaging diagnostic system covering multi-level medical institutions. We are going to evaluate this system in an evidence-based medicine view, taking diabetic retinopathy as an example. And clinical diagnostic criteria will be made based on this multi-modal artificial intelligence imaging diagnostic system. The study is designed as a cross-sectional study involving 1,000 normal individuals, 1,000 diabetes patients without ocular complications, and 1,000 with diabetic ocular complications. Statistical analysis of the diagnostic sensitivity and specificity of the artificial intelligence system will be made, and ROC curve wil be draw.

Objective: To evaluate the clinical manifestations and surgical prognosis of macular tractional retinoschisis in proliferative diabetic retinopathy. Design: Retrospective case series. Participants: Cases with macular tractional retinoschisis with or without combined traction detachment (TRD) in proliferative diabetic retinopathy confirmed by optical coherence tomography (OCT) at a single institution between January 2007 and August 2010. Methods: Cases were divided into two groups. Group A had tractional retinoschisis only while Group B had TRD with retinoschisis of the elevated retina. Clinical data including OCT findings were recorded and analyzed. Main Outcome Measures: Demographic data, clinical pictures, surgical results, and OCT findings will be compared between two the groups.

The primary objective of this study is to identify whether cardiovascular complication rates are lower in patients who participate in managed diabetes care, in comparison to provincial and national rates. This study will involve an electronic medical record (EMR) chart audit, augmented by a manual review of hospital and other pertinent medical records, as necessary.

The purpose of this study is explore if a partnership and screening program put in place between a busy retina practice and their referring diabetes care offices can improve diabetic retinopathy and diabetic macular edema diagnosis, care and overall diabetes control in patients with diabetic eye disease.
