Endogenous Opioid Systems and Symptom Change in Fibromyalgia
FibromyalgiaThis study is designed to study brain mechanisms associated with symptoms and severity of Fibromyalgia. This will be accomplished by relating results from PET scans to self-reported and objective measures of disease severity.
Risk Factors of Primary Fibromyalgia
FibromyalgiaFibromyalgia (FM) is a condition with a different non-specific symptoms which lead to a difficult diagnosis. Study suggests that osteopathy can help in improving FM symptoms, nevertheless, it can be difficult to identify which patients may benefit. The knowledge of FM risk factor can be useful tool for osteopaths and other clinician to implement a targeted, fast and multidisciplinary treatment protocol for those kind of patient.
Validation of a Pressure Pain Threshold Scale in Patients Diagnosed With Myofascial Pain Syndrome...
Myofascial Pain SyndromeFibromyalgiaTo date, there are no valid and reliable pressure pain threshold scales for use in research or clinical practice. The existing manual palpation protocols and scales have limited support in the literature and our knowledge has not advanced since these scales were proposed in the 1990's. Therefore, the purpose of this investigation was to develop a valid and reliable PPTS in order to provide an objective means of assessing pressure pain thresholds and create a reliable method of communication among clinicians for individuals with a diagnoses characterized by MPS and FM. These conditions were chosen based on their high prevalence among chronic pain conditions and are also dependent upon the manual palpation examination for their diagnosis.
Chinese Version of Fibromyalgia Criteria and Severity Scales Study
Chinese VersionFibromyalgia2 moreUp to now, there is no Chinese version of fibromyalgia diagnosis criteria and severity assessment scales. The aim of this study is to translate, adapt, and validate the Chinese version of the 2011 modification of the 2010 ACR preliminary criteria for the diagnosis of fibromyalgia (2011ModCr) and 2016 ACR revisions to the 2010/2011 fibromyalgia diagnostic criteria, as well as the Fibromyalgia Impact Questionnaire (FIQ-C).
Trunk Position Sense, Postural Stability and Spinal Posture in Fibromyalgia
FibromyalgiaPostural Lordosis4 moreThis study aims to investigate trunk position sense, postural stability and spine posture in fibromyalgia patients and healthy women.
Evaluation of Smell and Taste in Fibromyalgia
FibromyalgiaPatients diagnosed with fibromyalgia syndrome according to 2016 ACR criteria and 18-70 years old healthy subjects will be included in the study. Their smell and taste will be assessed with sniffin sticks and taste strips. Besides they will be evaluated for quality of life, anxiety, depression, and alexithymia.
Frequency of Fibromyalgia in Behcet Disease
FibromyalgiaBehcet SyndromeIn various studies, the incidence of fibromyalgia in Behçet's patients is widely distributed. It was aimed to investigate the frequency and severity of fibromyalgia in Behcet disease in province Bursa.
Breathing and Chest Wall Mobility in People With Fibromyalgia.
FibromyalgiaThe aim of this study is to examine differences between respiratory function in female fibromyalgia patients and healthy controls. The study will also examine differences in spine mobility and pain intensity.
Fatigue in Primary Sjögren's Syndrome
Sjogren's SyndromeFatigue4 moreFatigue is a common clinical finding in Primary Sjögren's syndrome (PSS). In PSS, there is not enough data about the conditions in which fatigue develops and which clinical conditions the disease is associated with. This study was aimed to determine the level of fatigue in Primary Sjögren syndrome and to investigate the factors affecting the level of fatigue.
Near-Infrared Spectroscopy in Myofascial Pain Syndrome
Myofascial Pain SyndromeRegional Tissue Oxygen SaturationMyofascial pain syndrome is a regional pain syndrome accompanied by sensorial, motor and autonomic symptoms . myofascial trigger points are most frequently detected in the upper trapezius, levator scapula, and axial postural muscles such as rhomboid major. Myofascial pain syndrome is characterized by active myofascial trigger points in the form of focal hyperirritable nodules palpated in the tight band of the muscle . Alteration of tissue vascularization could limit or prevent th may cause adhesions, contractures and pain. As a result of decreased blood flow, tissue oxygenation may decrease.
