The U.S. Embryologist Fatigue Study

FatigueStress13 more

The purpose of the study is to determine physical and mental health issues of U.S. embryologists related to their occupational characteristics, and how workplace fatigue and burnout may affect their quality of life, cynicism, interactions with patients, attention to detail, and lead to human error, the cause of the most severe IVF incidents that often make headlines and result in costly litigation. It will also correlate how the current manual workflows contribute to these health issues, and what measures can be taken to improve both working conditions and embryologists' health, and, therefore, improve patient care.

Localized Therapeutics for the Treatment of Gastrointestinal Disorders

Healthy Adults

The purpose of this study is to determine the patient preference for a biocompatible thermosensitive solution-gel versus water or saline (liquid) enema. The thermosensitive solution-gel is comprised of poloxamer, an inactive compound that is designated as GRAS (generally recognized as safe) by FDA. It could subsequently be used as a medium for drug delivery. The poloxamer (gel) is administered to study participants in order to assess preference and proximal distribution.

Bioequivalence Study of Raperazole 20mg DR Tabs and PARIET® 20 mg DR Tabs Under Fed Conditions

Gastrointestinal Diseases

This is an open-label, randomized, single dose, two-sequence, two-periods crossover study, separated by 7 days washout interval from the first Study Drug Administration. This study is conducted to determine the bioequivalence of Rabeprazole from IDIAZOLE 20mg Delayed-Release (DR) tablets (tabs) and PARIET 20 mg DR tabs after a single oral dose administration of each to healthy adults fed under conditions. In Period 1, subjects will be randomized to either Idiazole 20mg DR tabs or PARIET 20 mg DR tabs. Cow's Milk Allergy and Functional Gastrointestinal Disorders

Cow's Milk AllergyFunctional Gastrointestinal Disorders

Cow's milk allergy (CMA) is the most common food allergy in early childhood, with an estimated incidence ranging between 2% and 3% in infants and marginally lower in older children. It has been demonstrated that it could be a risk factor for the development of the functional gastrointestinal disorders in children. Intestinal microflora has been indicated as potential target for the management of CMA and FGDIs through the use of probiotics. Lactobacillus rhamnosus GG (LGG) is the most studied probiotic. Recently, it has been demonstrated that an extensively hydrolyzed casein formula remains hypoallergenic following the addition of LGG, satisfying both the American Academy of Pediatrics guidelines. Lactobacillus GG exerts several benefits when added to an extensively hydrolyzed casein formula (Nutramigen LGG), including decreased severity of atopic dermatitis, improved recovery of intestinal symptoms in infants with CMA-induced allergic colitis, and faster induction of tolerance in infants with CMA. The mechanisms of these effects are multiple and exerted at different levels: epithelium, immune system and enteric nervous system. Studies and meta-analyses showed that LGG increases treatment success in children with functional gastrointestinal disorders.
