Efficacy Assessment of Chinese Herbal Medicine Tangweian Recipe Treating Participants With Diabetic...

Diabetic Gastroenteropathy

This study is a randomized, positive drug parallel-controlled clinical trial in participants with diabetic gastroenteropathy. A total of 60 participants will be recruited for the study, all of whom are diagnosed as diabetes mellitus combined with gastroenteropathy. The subjects will be divided randomly into two groups and treated with either Tangweian Recipe+mosapride citrate tablets or mosapride citrate tablets for four weeks. The primary outcome will be the change in gastroparesis symptom severity, as measured by the American Neurogastroenterology and Motility Society Gastroparesis Cardinal Symptoms Daily diary Index-Daily Diary (ANMS GCSI-DD). And participants will be seen for a clinic evaluation at weeks 0 and 4, during which symptom scores, adverse events and treatment compliance will be assessed.

Pancreatic NeoplasmDigestive System Neoplasm6 more

The OSPREY Patient Registry has been developed to collect and assess the performance and safety of the OncoSil™ device when used within the approved indication of unresectable, locally advanced pancreatic cancer, in combination with gemcitabine-based chemotherapy, within a real-world observational registry. The Registry data will provide both complementary and contemporary information to the existing clinical data across various countries and will form part of the post-market clinical follow-up activities for OncoSil™. Therefore, the Registry will be implemented only in countries with regulatory (commercial) approval for the OncoSil™ device.

Therapeutic Effect of Olive Leaf Tea on SIBO

Small Intestinal Bacterial OvergrowthGastrointestinal Disorder1 more

The goal of this study is to learn about the effect of olive leaf tea (OLT) in patients with small intestinal bacterial overgrowth aging from 18 to 60 years old. This study aims to answer the following questions: Will OLT consumption help decrease severity of gastrointestinal signs and symptoms Will OLT help normalize the intestinal methane and hydrogen gases levels measured by glucose breath test Does olive leaf tea have an effect on body composition parameters including weight, muscle mass and fat mass Participants with complain of gastrointestinal symptoms like abdominal gas, constipation, diarrhea etc. will undergo glucose breath test(GBT). Participants with diagnosed SIBO by GBT will randomly assigned to two groups. Group A will take the olive leaf tea(1.8g leave powder /tea bag) twice/day after meals for the duration of 2 months. Group B (control group) will not take olive leaf tea. For both groups Symptomatic questionnaire, Glucose breath test, Body composition by InBody analyzer 270 and 24-hour dietary recall will be taken. Researcher will compare readings of group A and Group B taken at Baseline and after 2 months of intervention to assess the effect of Olive leaf tea

Point of Care 3D Ultrasound for Various Applications: A Pilot Study

AppendicitisEvidence of Cholecystectomy22 more

Summary Purpose and Objective: The purpose of this study is to test the feasibility of rapid acquisition of point of care 3D ultrasound in obtaining abdominal and/or pelvic images. The study will use a newly developed acquisition method and post-processing technique to create three dimensional image models of the abdomen and/or pelvis. Study activities and population group. The study population will be a convenience sample of patients of any age presenting to the Emergency Department with complaints necessitating a clinical abdominal and/or pelvic imaging. The study intervention includes acquisition of research ultrasound images, which will not be used for clinical care, and comparison of these images with clinically obtained images. Other clinical data such as surgical and pathology reports will also be reviewed. 3.Data analysis and risk/safety issues. This is a pilot study intended to determine feasibility and to refine image reconstruction algorithms. Research images will be compared to clinical images. Comparison of research images with final diagnosis will also occur. The research intervention, an ultrasound exam, has no known safety risks. The only risk to subjects is loss of confidentiality. This study is observational, not interventional, because the experimental ultrasound will be performed in all subjects and will not be used in the clinical care of patients (consequently, will not have the opportunity to affect clinical outcomes). Experimental images will be reviewed after completion of clinical care and will not be provided to the clinicians caring for the subjects. The investigators are not measuring the effect of the ultrasound examination on the subjects' outcomes.

Hepatitis B Vaccination After Neonatal Surgery

Vaccination ReactionHepatitis B Virus Infection3 more

At present, whether the hepatitis B vaccine (HBV) can be vaccinated on time after neonatal surgery has become a common problem for children's families, neonatal surgeons, and vaccination departments, but there are few relevant studies at home and abroad, and there is no corresponding guide or consensus. In the early stage, our research team investigated the vaccination plans of the vaccination units in the main urban areas of Chongqing for such children through telephone follow-up, and found that the practices of each unit were different, all based on their own experience, and there was no clear evidence to support the vaccination or should not be vaccinated, which may cause some children to miss the best vaccination time or increase the risk of vaccination. The center is a relatively large neonatal surgery center in southwest China. The diagnosis and treatment of neonatal digestive tract malformations is at the leading level in China. It can carry out various neonatal operations such as neonatal necrotizing enterocolitis, congenital anorectal malformations, and congenital megacolon. On average, it carries out more than 30 third and fourth grade neonatal gastrointestinal operations every month. It has accumulated a lot of experience in the follow-up of newborns, There is a large amount of clinical data support for children who need to be vaccinated after surgery, so it is planned to follow up the second and third doses of hepatitis B vaccine and whether there are adverse reactions related to vaccination for children who need to be vaccinated after gastrointestinal surgery in the neonatal period, and at the same time check the production of HBsAb after vaccination, The immune response and adverse reactions of hepatitis B vaccine at different time points after surgery were studied to increase clinical evidence for the determination of hepatitis B vaccine vaccination program for newborns after surgery.

Hepatobiliary Tumors Tissue Samples Acquisition

Hepatocellular CarcinomaCholangiocarcinoma7 more

Hepatobiliary tumors have a poor prognosis and high individual heterogeneity, so it is of great significance to find important prognostic markers and then screen out specific subgroups of people; meanwhile, chronic hepatitis, cirrhosis, and healthy control participants also need to show the evolution of tumors and discover specific diagnostic markers as a control group. Moreover, targeted therapy and immunotherapy make cancer treatment enter a new field, but only part of patients achieve response rates and reach clinical benefit. However, these drugs are expensive and can cause treatment-related adverse events. Therefore, reliable biomarkers identification is needed to help predict the response to these treatment options in order to screen patients with better responsiveness and avoid wasting money. Multi-omics research can reveal the characteristics of hepatobiliary tumors more deeply and find meaningful therapeutic targets. Therefore, 450 patients at least 18 years of age with hepatobiliary tumors were included in this study.

Gut Recovery In Patients Following Surgery

Gastrointestinal DiseasesIleus

The purpose of the study is to determine if the myoelectrical measurements made by the G-Tech Wireless Patch System correlate with clinical markers of postoperative recovery such as passage of flatus/bowel movement, oral tolerance of diet and discharge readiness. Subsequently the data will be studied to establish which information in the signals is important in determining when to feed patients and possibly discharge them..
